Chapter 906: It's Your Turn Now

In that split second, Leon had already dashed out of the area, returning to the original alchemical assembly hall. Hubert, Anderson, and the Alchemical Golem followed closely behind.

Looking back, Leon saw the earthen wall had shattered, and the Spider Alchemical Golem's five rune-lit eyes—four had dimmed, leaving only the last eye's runes still weaving together.

As the runes finished assembling, a blurry, phantom image suddenly appeared above the Spider Alchemical Golem's head.

It was a woman with a humanoid upper body and six arms, her lower half a thick serpent's tail. Her writhing hair was a nest of tiny venomous snakes, each one ready to bite.

As this phantom appeared, its eyes rapidly solidified.

It looked as if only the eyes of this terrifying apparition were truly real—deep, soul-pulling eyes with a dark, shifting rune glimmering within.

In an instant, Reina's dragon tail began turning to ashen stone, the petrification rippling quickly across her body, transforming everything it touched into cold, gray stone.

By the time Reina reached the rear Alchemical Golem assembly line, the Spider Alchemical Golem abruptly ceased its spellcasting, and the phantom woman vanished from midair.

Landing on the ground, Reina instantly reverted to her human form—but her feet had already turned to stone.

Fear and shock flickered on Reina's face. She tried to channel her magic, but it couldn't reach her feet—almost as if they no longer belonged to her.

"Damn it, Medusa's Eye... This place's original owner was certifiably insane. To actually embed eight Medusa's Eye spells into a single Alchemical Golem—the Spider Alchemical Golem's eyes, every last one, were ripped straight from real Medusas..."

A bead of cold sweat appeared on Leon's forehead. It was far too dangerous. At first, he'd guessed those eight dark, cold eyes were enchanted with some powerful spell, but he'd never imagined they were actual Medusa eyes.

Only by gouging out a Sky Rank Medusa's eyes while it's still alive can you forge a Medusa's Eye. When cast, it summons a Medusa apparition—making the spell a true ninth-level magic.

This isn't your garden-variety petrification—it's the transcendent power of Medusa's Eye.

Medusa is a legendary supernatural being, almost extinct. Every adult Medusa is Sky Rank—even dragons would rather avoid them than pick a fight. No one wants to mess with such a terrifying creature.

Medusas are born with the ability—the Medusa's Eye. If they can see you, it doesn't matter how far or how many obstacles—once they start casting, if their gaze lands on you, you're doomed.

Any creature struck by Medusa's Eye turns into a statue, body completely petrified, soul trapped forever within the stone. There's no escape; over time, the soul fades and the body becomes a true stone sculpture.

No one has seen a Medusa for countless years. Back when Chromatic Dragons and Pureblood Elves ruled Northend, a peak Sky Rank Emerald Dragon somehow stumbled upon a Medusa tribe.

Then, the Medusa chieftain—a ninth-level Sky Rank Medusa—cast Medusa's Eye and gave that peak Emerald Dragon a single look.

That mighty Emerald Dragon didn't even get a chance to resist—instantly transformed into a lifelike stone statue. At the time, a Three-Headed Gold Dragon went to negotiate with the Medusa tribe, but all it did was carry away the petrified Emerald Dragon. No one dared mention revenge.

Medusas are infamous for holding grudges—hundreds, even thousands of years is normal. If you provoke a Medusa, you'd better wipe out every last member of their tribe and cover your tracks, or else...

Otherwise, just wait for their insane revenge. When those snake-haired Medusas go berserk, there's nothing they won't do—they don't care about human morals.

Bill George actually used eight Medusa eyes as materials. That's the definition of reckless. Challenging Chromatic Dragons would be safer than this.

From a distance, Leon eyed the Spider Alchemical Golem, vaguely guessing that when Bill George hid out in the Blazeforge Realm for years, it was probably to keep secret the fact he'd killed at least four Sky Rank Medusas—so he holed up in this godforsaken orc tribe.

Back in the Third Dynasty, there was a notorious Medusa Queen in the Endless Sea. No creature dared approach her domain for thousands of miles. If word got out that Bill George had slain at least four Sky Rank Medusas, and the Medusas chased him to the mainland, the Third Dynasty would just pretend not to see.

Bill George's bloodline survived, so clearly, he managed to keep this secret.

Leon wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. He'd always known Bill George was cunning and ruthless, but he hadn't expected him to be this bold and treacherous.

Eight Medusa eyes, embedded in a level-forty Alchemical Golem... no one would ever guess Bill George could be so extravagant.

But now, the Spider Alchemical Golem had stopped attacking. Its runes faded, and it sat quietly, looking just like a giant spider statue.

Leon opened his demi-plane and took out a drop of Elder God Blood, letting it fall onto Reina's petrified feet. Instantly, violent waves of magical energy erupted, and a terrifying pressure began to clash over her feet.

On one side was the innate power of Medusa; on the other, the force of the Elder Gods. After two or three seconds, the Elder God Blood's energy faded, and the stone color on Reina's feet gradually lightened—until it was fully gone.

Leon frowned. To break Medusa's petrification, you either need a Medusa herself or a higher power to shatter this near-curse.

But even a drop of Elder God Blood took two or three seconds to break the curse. That Medusa's Eye must've come from at least a fifth-level Sky Rank Medusa!

To gouge out the eye of a fifth-level Sky Rank Medusa and embed it in a level-forty Alchemical Golem... Leon hadn't expected Bill George to be that deranged.

With Reina's petrification curse lifted, Leon glanced at the distant Spider Alchemical Golem, rubbing his brow.

There's no way to fight that thing now—the Spider Alchemical Golem is far too terrifying. Even a true Sky Rank powerhouse could get killed by Bill George's trap.

All we can do is find another way to avoid the Spider Alchemical Golem...

The moment they stepped forward, the Spider Alchemical Golem attacked. But when they were on the Alchemical Golem assembly line, it did nothing.
