Amy's crying stopped abruptly!
This totally isn't how it's supposed to go!
Normally, when a man does something like this, isn't he supposed to comfort the victim in every possible way?
Just like Charles Yin—he either hands out checks or gives money. Basically, he just pays them off!
But Jiro Hirayama actually wants to do a check-up?
Of course I can't do a check-up!
Amy's eyes flickered as she looked at Jiro Hirayama, her mind racing: "Of course I want to go with you for a check-up, to prove I'm innocent! But honestly, there's not much innocence left for me now. Do you really want to humiliate me again? Even if I'm a base agent, I'm not for sale, okay? I have my own dignity, alright? Also, are you sure you want to drag me off for a check-up right now, instead of going to explain things to Rona Muir? Even if you don't want to explain, I do! Why should I, a perfectly decent girl, have my reputation ruined by you? How am I supposed to explain last night to my boyfriend?"
Hearing Amy mention Rona Muir, Jiro Hirayama snapped back to reality.
Right, Rona just ran out, and in her current state, she's at risk of getting into trouble.
He had to find Rona immediately!
"I won't let you off the hook." Jiro Hirayama turned and dashed to the parking lot like a madman.
His RV was still there, but Lucas Lin's car was gone!
Jiro Hirayama yanked open the car door and found the keys still inside.
He didn't care about Amy behind him—he started the car and sped off after them.
Amy watched Jiro Hirayama's car disappear in the distance, a satisfied smile curling on her lips.
After this, even if their marriage doesn't fall apart, they'll have to live separately!
By then, she could use this to threaten Rona Muir and Jiro Hirayama, and make them do things for her!
Anyway, she's done everything she could and there's no turning back now.
Isn't that right?
At that moment, Rona Muir fiercely wiped away her tears, her voice chillingly calm as she said to Lucas Lin, "Drive. Take me there."
"W-where to?" Lucas Lin was so stunned he couldn't react right away.
"Since I don't have a home anymore, I can't lose my job too." Rona Muir replied coldly, "Take me to the hotel where the conference is being held. Also, please help me pack my things and bring them over."
"I... Are you really okay?" Lucas Lin looked at Rona Muir uncertainly.
Rona Muir's face was full of resolve: "Even if I'm not, what can I do? I still have to survive, don't I? I already have a child, so it doesn't matter if I never get married. Let's go!"
"Oh, okay." Lucas Lin hesitated for a moment before starting the car again and taking Rona Muir straight to her destination.
By that time, Rona Muir's two assistants were already waiting for her there.
When they saw Rona Muir, they were so shocked they almost fainted. "President Muir, what happened to you?"
"Go to your room and bring me a new set of clothes and accessories." Rona Muir seemed like a different person, cold and distant: "Hurry up!"
"Y-yes, ma'am." The two assistants had no idea what was going on, and didn't dare ask. They quickly took Rona Muir back to the room. Only after she went in to shower and change did they realize that it was Lucas Lin who had brought her, not Jiro Hirayama!
What on earth happened here?
"Mr. Lin, why did you bring President Muir over?" One of the assistants couldn't help but ask, "Did something happen?"
"Uh, you'd better ask her yourselves." Lucas Lin looked conflicted and pained. "You two need to keep a close eye on her these days, especially don't let her be alone anywhere, got it?"
"Huh?" The two assistants clearly didn't understand!
President Muir went on vacation just fine—how did she suddenly become so scary?
Seriously, explain yourself already!
But Lucas Lin didn't stay—he turned and left.
Right now, he's supposed to be the guy who's been hurt by his girlfriend, so of course he couldn't stick around.
After Lucas Lin left, Rona Muir quickly changed clothes, did her hair and makeup, and got ready for today's conference.
The two assistants glanced at each other, inexplicably feeling that President Muir's makeup looked especially sharp today!
This... doesn't fit President Muir's usual style!
Looks like something really serious happened!
But before they could ask, Rona Muir had already turned and headed straight to the venue.
By the time Jiro Hirayama arrived, it was already too late to find Rona Muir.
Rona Muir's phone was off, and she'd forced her assistants to turn off theirs too—no contact with the outside world allowed.
Jiro Hirayama couldn't reach Rona Muir no matter what—now he was really panicking.
Flustered, Jiro Hirayama couldn't help but call Cecilia Gu for help: "Cecilia, something's happened—something big!"
Cecilia Gu was busy at work when she answered Jiro Hirayama's call. She thought he was joking and said, "Wow, that's rare! The almighty Jiro Hirayama actually has a problem? Aren't you and Rona on vacation? What could possibly happen? Don't tell me you're having a second child?"
Jiro Hirayama replied bitterly, "Second child? Rona and I are probably getting divorced!"
Cecilia Gu paused. "Are you kidding me!"
Jiro Hirayama was so aggrieved he was about to cry. "I'm not kidding! Something huge happened last night. I don't even know how it happened—Amy ended up in my bed, and Rona slept in Amy's room. Now Rona's mad, her phone's off, her assistants' phones are off, and I can't find her anywhere. Cecilia, please tell Rona that I know I was wrong. Last night wasn't my fault! I didn't do anything! I didn't touch another woman!"
After hearing Jiro Hirayama's story, Cecilia Gu felt her mind go completely blank.
Why does this plot sound so familiar?
Wait a second!
Mixing up rooms and ending up in the wrong bed—wasn't that exactly what happened to me once?
Back then, Lydia Lin tried to please Charles Yin by offering me as a 'gift,' tricking me into looking for Zach Zhao, and I ended up in the wrong room.
And now Rona's gone through the same thing?
Is someone setting them up?
Who could it be?
Amy?
Cecilia Gu couldn't sit still anymore. She said right away, "Okay, okay, don't panic. I'll go find her now! Let me take care of things at work and I'll head over right away!"
After hanging up, Cecilia Gu felt a wave of anxiety.
She'd wanted to discuss things with Charles Yin, but then remembered he was probably busy searching for his sister, so she decided not to bother him.
She'd better go find Rona first!
Cecilia Gu quickly called her assistants over, delegated her work to them, and then took a few bodyguards and drove straight to City D.
By the time Cecilia Gu arrived in City D, it was already past 2 p.m.
She'd rushed the whole way just to make it by afternoon.
There was no helping it—City N was just too far from City D, over 700 kilometers. This was as fast as she could go.
Jiro Hirayama hadn't eaten or drunk anything all day; he looked completely haggard. When he saw Cecilia Gu arrive, it was like he'd finally found his anchor—he almost wanted to kneel down to her. "You're finally here! Go find Rona, quick!"
Cecilia Gu shook her head, looking grim. "I tried calling her, but I can't get through—none of the numbers work. She doesn't reply to texts or emails either. But don't worry, Rona's dedicated to her work. She must be at the conference venue. I'll go find her now!"
"I'm coming too!" Jiro Hirayama was desperate and tried to follow immediately.
"No, wait for my news." Cecilia Gu stopped him. "If you come along, Rona won't even see me! Let me find out what's going on first!"
Jiro Hirayama could only grit his teeth and agree.
Damn it!
Why did this have to happen!
It's unbelievable!
After calming Jiro Hirayama down, Cecilia Gu turned and headed to the conference venue.
Sure enough, she was stopped at the entrance for not having an access pass.
Cecilia Gu was never one to flaunt her status, but this time she had no choice.
"I'm Cecilia Gu, the young mistress of the Yin Corporation," she told the guard. "I need to see your manager. Ten minutes."
The two guards exchanged uneasy glances. "Sorry, ma'am, but no matter who you are, you can't go in without a pass."
Cecilia Gu fixed them with a steady look. "You'd better notify your manager. If you delay something important, you really won't be able to afford the consequences. If your manager refuses to see me, any trouble later won't be blamed on you."
Sure enough, one of them was convinced and went inside to notify someone.
In less than three minutes, someone hurried over.
The newcomer recognized Cecilia Gu at once and broke out in a cold sweat. He knew who she was and immediately asked, "Mrs. Yin, what brings you here?"
"Has Rona Mu arrived?" Cecilia Gu asked directly.
"She has. She's inside, attending the meeting," the man replied, confused.
"I need to go in," Cecilia Gu said at once. "Get me a pass."
"Of course, of course! I'll get it for you right away." The man nodded and hurried to get her a pass.
Cecilia Gu swiped her pass and walked straight into the venue. As she walked, she said, "Take me to the area where Danni Corporation is located."
"Yes, yes!" The man trotted alongside her, leading Cecilia Gu straight toward Rona Mu.
The people nearby turned around to look at Cecilia Gu when they heard the commotion.
Cecilia Gu just nodded at them, not greeting anyone.
Some people had complaints at first, but as soon as they saw it was Cecilia Gu, they didn't dare say a word and started greeting her enthusiastically.
Rona Mu sat there, dazed, not hearing a word from the stage.
Suddenly, someone sat down beside her, snapping Rona Mu out of her trance.
She turned her head and saw Cecilia Gu. Rona Mu jumped in surprise. "You—what are you doing here?"
"If I hadn't come, would you have disappeared too?" Cecilia Gu turned to Rona Mu, her expression serious. "My sister is already missing. Are you going to vanish and scare me as well? What happened that made you hide from everyone?"
