Where did he go?
Where could he possibly go?
Rona Muir struggled to sit up in bed, her mind completely blank. For a long moment, she couldn’t remember how she’d gotten back.
She glanced down at her clothes—they were still yesterday’s outfit. Clearly, she’d come home and crashed straight into bed.
Amy, she was actually in her own room!
She’d slept with her own husband!
"Peter Pingshan... Peter Pingshan?" Rona Muir called out twice, but got no response. Holding her head, she struggled to stand up and looked around, but the room was still empty.
How could that be?
He stopped himself from speaking, biting back the words.
"Rona, what’s wrong?" Lucas Lin quickly caught Rona Muir as she nearly collapsed, then shouted, "What’s going on? Why is Amy in her own room?"
Why was she in Room 806?
She clearly remembered her room number was 819, which was right across from 806.
Suddenly, Rona Muir snapped back to full awareness.
She grabbed the room key, and a thought flashed through her mind: If she was in 806, then Amy must be in 819.
Rona Muir instantly panicked, snatched up the room key, and hurried out.
She hadn’t even had time to open the door when she heard knocking from outside: "Amy, are you up yet?"
Rona Muir yanked the door open and saw Lucas Lin standing outside, staring at her in shock.
"Rona? Why are you in Amy’s room?" Lucas Lin stopped himself, looking genuinely stunned. "Did you spend the night with Amy?"
"What did you say? Amy isn’t in your room?" A bad feeling flashed through Rona Muir’s mind and she grabbed Lucas Lin’s shirt. "How did I get back last night?"
Lucas Lin’s eyes flickered, then he pretended to be surprised and said, "You came back on your own! You said you could walk by yourself, so you came back alone."
Lucas Lin glanced up. None of the hotels here had surveillance cameras, otherwise he wouldn’t dare lie like this.
Rona Muir’s face instantly went pale.
How could this be?
And now, who had set her up—swapped her room key with Amy’s, let Amy into her room, and let Amy sleep with her own husband?
Rona Muir gripped the key card, her whole body trembling. "No, no way..."
If what she suspected was true, then, then...
Rona Muir rushed to the door of Room 819 and knocked hard.
She kept praying in her heart—please, don’t let anything be wrong, please don’t let anything be wrong!
She couldn’t bear that kind of mistake!
No, please, no!
But the next second, a voice filled with despair came from inside the room.
It was Amy’s voice: "Who is it?"
Rona Muir felt like she’d fallen into an ice pit, her face turning deathly pale.
Mr. Pingshan, after all this, how am I supposed to face you again?
She’d slept with Rona Muir’s husband!
Even someone as experienced as Rona Muir was left completely blank, totally clueless about what to do next.
Lucas Lin had been secretly watching Rona Muir the whole time. When he saw her face go totally bloodless, his heart ached and he almost blurted out what happened last night.
He was terrified that Rona Muir wouldn’t be able to handle the shock.
"Rona, what’s wrong?" Lucas Lin quickly caught Rona Muir as she nearly collapsed, then shouted, "What’s going on? Why is Amy in Mr. Pingshan’s room?"
Yes, after everything that happened, Lucas Lin was a victim too.
Jiro Hirayama woke up groggily, mumbling, "Rona, what’s wrong? What happened?"
Amy pretended to be startled and let out a scream, "Ah!"
Jiro Hirayama jolted awake: That wasn’t Rona’s voice! Who was it?
Jiro Hirayama sat up abruptly, turned his head, and his eyes widened instantly!
"Amy! Why is it you? How did you end up here?" Jiro Hirayama felt like he was going crazy.
How could Amy be in his and Rona’s room?
Jiro Hirayama looked down—he wasn’t wearing much, and neither was Amy. Their clothes were scattered all over the floor.
Jiro Hirayama felt his mind buzz, as if a stone had smashed into it: It’s over, Rona’s going to be furious!
Amy grabbed her clothes, clutching her chest, and suddenly opened the door. When she saw the two people standing outside, she seemed stunned, tears on her face, frozen in place.
Rona Muir had still been holding onto a shred of hope—even if they’d gone into the wrong room, maybe nothing had happened last night.
But the scene before her shattered every bit of hope Rona Muir had.
Their disheveled state was burned into Rona Muir’s eyes.
Rona Muir didn’t say a word—she just turned and walked away.
Jiro Hirayama shouted, "Rona, let me explain! I didn’t do anything!"
But before he could reach the door, Amy pretended to trip and blocked Jiro Hirayama’s path.
Hearing the noise behind her, Rona Muir walked faster and faster, then broke into a run, dashing out of the hotel in a flash.
Lucas Lin hurried after her.
He was extremely worried!
He was terrified Rona Muir wouldn’t be able to handle this shock.
"Rona, wait for me!" Lucas Lin took off running after her.
Rona Muir jumped into her RV, ready to drive away!
Lucas Lin stood in front of the car, blocking Rona Muir: "Rona, calm down!"
"Get out of the way, don’t stop me!" Rona Muir screamed, "I don’t want to see any of you!"
"If you want to go, I won’t stop you. I’ll take you myself!" Lucas Lin opened the car door. "You’re too emotional to drive right now. Let me take you away, okay?"
At that moment, Rona Muir was incredibly fragile.
She let Lucas Lin pull her out of her car and push her into his own.
Then Lucas Lin glanced back at the hotel before driving away with Rona Muir.
Rona Muir hugged her head, crying silently.
She thought she and Jiro Hirayama would never be apart, that neither would betray the other, that no one would ever make a mistake or hurt the other.

But she was wrong.
So, so wrong.
She saw with her own eyes her husband betray her.
A wrong room?
How could that happen?
Didn’t she have the room key with her the whole time?
Why was Amy in her room? And why was she in Amy’s room?
Who else but Jiro Hirayama would do something like this?
Did he carelessly swap the room keys?
Did he and Amy conspire to swap her room key?
How utterly ridiculous!
She couldn’t believe she’d ended up in the same mess that Cici did years ago!
Back then, it was Lydia Lin who set Cici up, deliberately swapping her room key so she’d go to the wrong room and end up in Charles Yin’s suite.
And now, who had set her up—swapped her room key with Amy’s, let Amy into her room, and let Amy sleep with her husband?
Ha, what a sick joke!
How could something so absurd happen to her too?
Her heart hurt. It hurt so much. So, so much.
Jiro, after all this, how am I supposed to face you again?
Can our family ever go back to the way it was?
Lucas Lin drove steadily, glancing now and then at the woman beside him, who was devastated by grief.
Lucas Lin felt his own heart ache too, and for the first time, he regretted working with Amy.
He did want Rona Muir, but he never wanted her to suffer like this.
"It was Amy, wasn’t it?" Rona Muir grabbed Lucas Lin’s arm. "Tell me, did Amy swap our room keys?"
Lucas Lin calmed himself and said, "I don’t know."
"You do know!" Rona Muir screamed, "Were you and Amy in on it together?"
Lucas Lin panicked inside.
No, Rona Muir was just guessing—she didn’t have any proof. He absolutely couldn’t admit it.
Lucas Lin slammed on the brakes and cried out in pain, "Rona! I’m hurting too, you know? Amy is my girlfriend! And now she’s slept in your husband’s bed! Do you think I’m not suffering?"
Rona Muir stared at Lucas Lin, eyes wide and brimming with tears, too stunned to speak.
Yes, after all that happened, Lucas Lin was a victim too.
How could she pile her pain onto Lucas Lin as well?
Lucas Lin’s eyes were red, tears brimming as he spoke in a low voice: "Rona, do you think I’m not hurting? I always thought Amy was in her own room! But now I’ve just announced her as my girlfriend, and she ends up sleeping in my good friend’s husband’s bed. What am I supposed to do? Rona, tell me, what should I do?"
Yes, what should they do?
Rona Muir slowly looked away, gently closed her eyes, and let despair drown her.
She didn’t know what to do either.
All she knew was that she and Jiro Hirayama were finished.
Lucas Lin slammed his fist on the steering wheel, making the car screech and hurting both their ears.
Meanwhile, back at the hotel, Jiro Hirayama ran outside in disarray.
But when he got outside, Rona Muir was already gone.
"How could this happen? How could it?" Even Jiro Hirayama’s sharp mind was in chaos.
He couldn’t understand why Amy was in his room.
Both his own and Rona Muir’s room keys were safely in his pocket.
How did Amy get his room key?
Why was Rona Muir in Amy’s room?
What on earth had happened?
At that moment, Amy, dressed, rushed out of the hotel. When she saw Jiro Hirayama, she ran up and tried to slap him!
But before her hand landed, Amy collapsed to the ground, sobbing, "Jiro Hirayama, you’ve ruined my future! I was supposed to plead with Mr. Hans to let me leave the base and be with Lucas Lin! But now, after what happened, Lucas Lin will never want me! I’m finished, completely finished! It’s all your fault!"
My fault?
How could it be my fault?
Jiro Hirayama looked at Amy strangely. He was never the type to just believe whatever people said!
Jiro Hirayama said coldly to Amy, "Who ruined whom isn’t clear yet! Come with me, right now—we’re going back for a checkup! I don’t believe I really slept with you last night!"
