Two Police Chiefs

1/11/2026

"Wait a minute, on what grounds are you arresting us?" Ian snapped coldly.

"We received a tip-off from the public. You two trespassed into a private residence and seriously injured someone!" Mark Ma strode forward, his eyes flashing with a cold glint.

Hearing this, Ian immediately understood that Norman Huang must have called the police. Suddenly, he remembered that Huang’s cousin was the station chief. Ian’s eyes narrowed as he looked at Mark Ma and asked, “Are you Norman Huang’s cousin?”

"That's none of your business! Take them away!" Mark Ma’s eyes flashed with icy intent.

"So it's police colluding with criminals. No wonder you showed up so fast. I bet Norman Huang’s paid you plenty," Ian said playfully.

A murderous glint flashed in Mark Ma’s eyes. He silently resolved that he would make sure this couple died in jail. Norman Huang might be his cousin, but while acting as his shield, Mark had pocketed plenty of benefits. If this got out, he’d be finished.

Just then, two officers each pulled out a pair of handcuffs and reached for Ian and Hannah’s wrists, ready to cuff them.

Ian pulled Hannah back a step, easily dodging the officers’ hands.

For a moment, Mark Ma was caught between advancing and retreating.

"Let me decide for you!"

Suddenly, his private phone rang. In this line of work, everyone kept two phones—one for business, one personal.

There were a fair number of people who knew his private number, but not that many.

He grabbed his phone and glanced at the caller ID. Instantly, his expression grew serious.

He pressed the answer button and spoke respectfully, "Hello, Mr. Nangong."

Nathan Nangong's voice came through the receiver: "Hello, Commissioner Liu. I'd like you to personally go to the urban village. Once you're there, do your best to follow the lead of a young man named Ian Song."

The Nangong Family had enormous influence in Riverstone City. Most senior officials were connected to them one way or another, and Lewis Liu owed his position to their backing.

Hearing Nathan Nangong's instructions, Lewis Liu hurriedly promised to get to the urban village as quickly as possible.

Although Nathan hadn't explained what was going on, Lewis didn't dare take it lightly. He was also a bit puzzled—who was this Ian Song?

Come to think of it, the hijacking hero who'd made headlines recently was also named Ian Song.

After hanging up with Nathan Nangong, Lewis Liu immediately called the district bureau, ordering Chief Logan Long to rush to the urban village—reminding him to be extra polite to a young man named Ian Song.

Logan Long, Lewis Liu's trusted subordinate, happened to still be at the district bureau. He quickly gathered a squad of officers and raced toward the urban village.

Urban village.

Hannah Han asked Ian nervously, "Ian, are you sure this won't cause trouble?"

"Relax, it's fine." Ian gave a mysterious smile. "Just sit back and enjoy the show. I wasn't planning to mess with Chief Ma, but he insisted on running straight into the gun barrel!"

About five minutes later.

Suddenly, sharp sirens blared, and three district police cars came speeding over.

Logan Long led the charge, heading straight for the scene.

Logan scanned the crowd, his gaze finally settling on Ian. "Excuse me, are you Mr. Ian Song?" he asked.

"I am," Ian nodded.

Logan quickly extended his hand, greeting Ian warmly. "Hello, Mr. Song. I'm Logan Long, chief of the Qingshui District bureau. Commissioner Liu is on his way!"

When Mark Ma saw this, his head spun. He knew he was done for—this kid really did bring the commissioner here with a single phone call.

Less than five minutes later, Lewis Liu himself arrived in a rush, driving his own car.

He jumped out of the car and called out loudly, "Which one of you is Mr. Song?"

Logan Long quickly stepped forward to introduce them. "Commissioner, this is Mr. Song."

Lewis Liu took a closer look—wasn't this that teenage hero? How did he end up connected to the Nangong Family?

But that wasn't his concern. He strode over, took Ian's hands in both of his, and said warmly, "Young Master Song, I'm so sorry for being late and making you suffer!"

"You're too kind, Commissioner Liu. You're not late at all!" Ian replied cheerfully.

"So, Mr. Song, what exactly happened here?" Commissioner Liu asked.

Ian glanced at Mark Ma. Under that look, Ma finally couldn't take the pressure and simply fainted on the spot.

Ian ignored the fainting act and calmly explained the whole sequence of events.

After listening, Commissioner Liu put on a furious display—whether real or not was anyone's guess. He barked coldly, "Arrest this rotten apple, and send someone to bring in Norman Huang immediately!"

...

The officers moved in swiftly, cuffing Mark Ma and Norman Huang, who was still clutching his broken arm and moaning on the ground.

The crowd watched in stunned silence, not daring to speak.

Hannah Han let out a sigh of relief, finally able to relax.

Lewis Liu turned to Ian, his tone respectful: "Mr. Song, if there's anything else you need, just let me know."

Ian smiled, "Thanks, Commissioner Liu. That's all for now."

Logan Long personally escorted Hannah and Ian out of the crowd, making sure no one dared to stop them.

As they left, Hannah glanced back, still feeling a bit dazed by everything that had happened.

Ian, on the other hand, was calm and collected, already thinking about his next move.

The urban village incident ended with a bang, leaving everyone in awe of Ian Song's power and connections.
