"Of course not. We're all brothers here—why would I mind?" Miles Gu lowered his gaze, his words light and casual, but his fingers unconsciously curled with tension.

Brothers?

Are they only brothers with the Primary Persona?

This Ryan King, ever since I came to Sunset Manor, hasn't once tried to be friendly with me.

Everyone here, without exception, acts close but is actually distant.

It's really frustrating!

Is the Primary Persona really that much better?

Why are they all so obsessed, one after another?

What's wrong with me?

I'm also Miles Gu—why can't they accept me?

Cherry Miller sorted out the tickets, and then Ryan King, Yuzhen Yin, Mason Kerr, and Yina Yin happily drove off from Sunset Manor to the downtown concert venue.

This time, the tour was set in the city's newly built large stadium.

The equipment here was cutting-edge, and there were enough seats for more than twenty thousand people. Ten huge LED screens, 3D projections—everything screamed luxury and grandeur.

To be able to hold a concert here was living proof of King Yu Cheng’s status and popularity.

All four of them had VIP tickets, right up front.

Yina Yin had barely sat down when the concert officially began.

King Yu Cheng had been dominating the music scene for nearly twenty years—he was a whole generation's memory.

So, the concert venue was packed to the brim, absolutely no empty seats anywhere.

King Yu Cheng kicked off with a high-energy song-and-dance performance, instantly setting the place on fire.

Even Yina Yin and her friends, who weren't really fans, got swept up in the excitement and joined the crowd, cheering and singing along.

"Next up, I've invited a special young friend to join me on stage. Come on, shout it out—who is it?" King Yu Cheng pointed his mic at the crowd, setting off a wave of cheers: "Gavin Gao!"

"Congratulations, you got it right!" King Yu Cheng gave a dramatic wave. "Please welcome Gavin Gao to the stage!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the stage lights went out in an instant.

Snap—a single spotlight hit the stage, revealing a lone silhouette.

The next second, the audience erupted in cheers and screams.

"Aahhh! It's Gavin! Gavin's here!"

"I can't take it—Gavin, I love you!"

"I'm losing my mind! My favorites—King Yu Cheng and Gavin—are performing together! This ticket was so worth it!"

"Gavin, I came here just for you! Tell me what you said on Weibo isn't true! You still belong to us!"

"King Yu Cheng, you and Gavin are both the coolest!"

In the crowd, countless people held up glowing signs with Gavin Gao’s name shining bright.

Just then, Gavin Gao's voice rang out from the stage.

Gavin Gao's main career was acting, but his singing wasn't half bad. Back at Saint Diya Academy, he was once one of the campus's top ten singers.

So singing wasn't exactly difficult for him.

"You said you loved someone you shouldn't have loved, your heart is full of scars. You said you've made mistakes you shouldn't have made, regret fills your soul. You've tasted all life's bitterness, can't find someone you trust. You say you're drowning in despair, questioning your own existence. If heartbreak is always inevitable, why do you keep loving so deeply? Because love is always hard to let go, so why care about a fleeting moment of warmth..." When Gavin sang this part, he looked up and saw the big screen lingering on Yina Yin in the audience for a full five seconds.

Gavin froze, forgetting to sing for a moment, just gazing deeply toward a certain spot in the crowd.

The audience noticed Gavin's slip and instantly screamed even louder: "Aahhh! He's looking at me! Gavin's looking at me!"

Gavin snapped back to reality and kept singing, but somehow the next lines sounded even more heartfelt: "If heartbreak is always inevitable, in every moment when dreams fade, some questions aren't worth asking now, some people aren't worth waiting for forever."

Sitting in the VIP section, Yina Yin heard those lyrics and, for a moment, her gaze grew distant, lost in the music’s melancholy.

Yeah, heartbreak is always inevitable. Why keep holding on so tightly?

If the person you're waiting for will never come, maybe it's time to stop waiting.

He's probably never coming back.

Ryan King sighed, "Feels like those lyrics are about Gavin Gao himself."

Yuzhen Yin looked at him, wide-eyed and innocent. "Huh?"

Ryan King ruffled his silly brother's hair and turned his face back to the stage. "Just listen to the music. These brain teasers aren't for you."

Mason Kerr listened to the lyrics, his gaze drifting toward a certain direction several times.

Are there really some people you just can't wait for?

Does holding on even mean anything anymore?

When the song ended, King Yu Cheng came on stage to interact with Gavin Gao: "A fan just asked, you sing with so much feeling—have you ever been heartbroken? Is the person who made you lose control here tonight?"

The moment he asked, the fans screamed even louder.

Gavin Gao’s countless female fans were moved to tears, their emotions overflowing.

Gavin Gao smiled and said, "Yes, the person who made me show my true feelings is right here among you tonight."

"Oh my god! Did I just hear a confession? Is Gavin talking to me?"

"No way! He’s obviously talking about me! Gavin, I’m here—I won’t let you suffer, I won’t make you wait any longer!"

"I bet the girl who gave Gavin that watch is here tonight too! Who is it? Who’s the lucky one?"

"I've waited ten years for this love, and I've never regretted it." Gavin Gao held the mic and gazed deeply at a spot below the stage. "I know, saying this might make some of you stop being my fans..."

"No, no, never! Gavin, we love you—we'll never leave you!" his fans screamed.

Gavin Gao smiled and continued, "But I don’t regret it. You might not know what it’s like to love someone for ten years. Ten years—ever since I first saw her, my heart was hers. I loved her, but I couldn’t tell her. All I could do was watch her from afar. This love was over before it even began."

"Oh, Gavin is so humble! My heart aches for him! Who is the lucky girl who got ten years of Gavin’s true love?" The fans started to feel for Gavin Gao.

But as the saying goes, heaven helps those who are true of heart. Finally, today is the day. She said she wouldn't turn me down. Friends, I'm truly happy." Gavin Gao gazed out lovingly. "I never thought she'd come tonight and hear me sing. I'm so happy. To show you how happy I am, can I sing another song for you? I'm not a professional singer, but back in college, I was one of the campus’s top ten! And my teachers were world-renowned vocalists—I won't embarrass them tonight."

"Gavin, don't say that! You sing so well—I won't allow you to diss yourself!" The fans screamed again.

Yina Yin, surrounded by fans, felt Gavin Gao's magnetic pull up close.

Yina Yin and Ryan King were both surprised—neither expected Gavin Gao to be this popular now.

In their memories, Gavin Gao was just a cool upperclassman. They never connected him with being a top-tier celebrity.

Mason Kerr glanced at Yina Yin and saw tears shimmering in her eyes.

Mason knew Yina wasn't crying for Gavin Gao—she was crying for herself.

Mason Kerr realized Yina Yin wasn’t crying for Gavin Gao—she was mourning for herself, for a love that could never return.

"Next song is 'Ten Years,' just for you." Gavin snapped his fingers at the band and started to sing: "If those two words hadn't trembled, I wouldn't have realized my pain. No matter how I say it, it’s still goodbye. If there's no dream for tomorrow, holding hands is just a journey. Out of thousands of doorways, one person always leaves first. If we can't stay in each other's arms, then why not, as we part, enjoy the tears as they fall."

Ten years—a whole decade had passed.

Gavin Gao had lost count of the times, over these ten years, he’d secretly checked for Yina Yin’s news—only to erase her messages again and again, nursing his silent ache.

He’d witnessed Yina Yin and Miles Gu's sweetest moments together, and saw their engagement with his own eyes.

All their happiness felt like salt, sprinkled layer by layer on his wounds—hurting so much, he couldn’t escape.

He knew he shouldn’t keep loving her, but he just couldn’t help wanting to get close.

Reason and emotion tugged at each other, hurting him over and over.

Who would have guessed his move to showbiz wasn’t just to escape family duties, but to escape her too?

He thought that, in the entertainment world, seeing plenty of beautiful women would help him forget her.

But the more people he met, the more he missed her.

Luckily, fate finally listened to his heart and gave him this chance—to say what he really felt, to chase his love without fear.

Every moment of waiting, every hardship—it was all worth it.

"Ten years ago, I hadn’t met you, you weren’t mine. We were just strangers, passing through familiar streets. Ten years later, we’re friends, we can still say hello, but the tenderness is gone—there’s no reason left to hold each other close. In the end, lovers always turn into friends."

By the time the last line was sung, more than a few people in the audience were in tears.

Gavin Gao's performance was so moving, it brought up memories for everyone.

Who here doesn’t have a past?

The one you loved but couldn't have always stays deep in your memory—never erased, but never revisited.

Yuzhen Yin, who’d never been in love, glanced at the sobbing girl to his left, then at the boy clutching his chest and calling out his ex’s name to his right. He just couldn’t understand this parade of confusing behavior.

"Hey, Ryan, do you think these fans crying like this have something wrong with their heads?" Yuzhen Yin couldn't help asking Ryan King.

Ryan King sighed, "Yuzhen, maybe you should fall in love once. If you do, you'll understand whether their heads are screwed on right."

"You have? How do you know?"

"That's the difference between us. I haven't, but I know. You haven't, but you don't. Can't help it—IQ gap." Ryan King gave Yuzhen Yin a sympathetic look. "Fools always deserve our pity!"
