Lucy Luan glanced at Sean Shaw, who was quietly watering the flowers. His tall, upright figure looked incredibly comfortable from behind.
A small smile curled at her lips.
When everyone else left, Lucy kept Sean behind, saying she had something to discuss with him.
Sean glanced at the pitch-black sky outside, looking a little shy. "What is it?" he asked.
"Do you still remember those two Clarity Charms that Third Prince Nathan Xiao pulled out in the Southern Maze Array?"
"Yeah," he replied.
"Those two charms recorded from my point of view! That's why you were in the footage, but I wasn't." Lucy said.
Sean nodded.
"But it wasn't me!" Lucy insisted. "I never used them."
"Of course I know," Sean answered.
"So do you know how they did it?"
"No idea," he said.
"I've asked a lot of people lately, trying to figure out if there's any way to implant a Clarity Charm into someone else and control its recording duration," Lucy explained. "In the end, it was our Divine Lord Soren Lann who told me it's probably a new type of Clarity Charm—only someone skilled in talismans could pull it off."
"Divine Lord Soren Lann told you?" Sean's expression shifted instantly.
Lucy glared at him. "Where is your focus? Shouldn't you be more concerned about the new Clarity Charm?"
Sean pressed his lips together, staying silent.
"Our Divine Lord also said this new Clarity Charm most likely came from Liam Leshan."
"Liam Leshan? Divine Lord Tanya Quinn's fiancé?"
"Exactly," Lucy said. "It was Liam Leshan who helped Marcus Xuanchen escape capture back then. Plus, that array in the maze that blocked communication and made it impossible for anyone to reach you? That was probably his handiwork too."
Sean fell silent, deep in thought.
"If you ever run into him again, be extra careful," Lucy warned.
Sean heard her and flashed her a sweet smile. "Okay."
That smile... it was seriously addictive!
Lucy shifted her gaze to the flowerpots on the windowsill. "You didn't even ask me—you just tossed my Flower Egg outside?"
"I don't like the way it smells," Sean said.
"So just because you don't like it, you get to throw it out?" Lucy retorted.
Sean stared at the Flower Egg outside like it was his mortal enemy, then asked, in a very reluctant tone, "Do you want me to go pick it up for you?"
Lucy looked at him for a long moment, then finally said, "Forget it..."
Sean instantly perked up, smiling with his eyes. "If you want to grow flowers, I'll find you more flowerpots!"
"Who wants to grow flowers! I can barely take care of myself, let alone them," Lucy said.
"Well... if you ever need anything, just come to me," Sean said.
Lucy sat on the bed, resting her chin in her hands as she gazed at him. "Any kind of help?"
Sean glanced at her, suddenly started stuttering. "Y-yes... o-of course!"
"I'm so tired lately! My shoulders hurt," Lucy complained, rubbing her own shoulders.
Sean's face instantly turned red, but he didn't hesitate. He walked over, half-kneeled on the bed, and said in a husky voice, "I'll massage them for you—"
"I meant I'm tired and want to sleep early! Close the door for me when you leave, thanks." Lucy turned to look at him, blinking her big eyes.
Sean's outstretched hand froze in midair as he locked eyes with her.
"You should get some rest too! Good night!" Lucy waved at him with a bright smile.
Sean swallowed, took a long moment to withdraw his leg from the bed, and said, "I'll head back then..."
Lucy nodded.
So he opened the door and left—in a flash, he was gone.
Lucy doubled over, clutching her stomach as she laughed for ages.
