The First Sparks of War

1/4/2026

In the third year of Ranked Soldier Formation Arts training, Baxa and Serena Tang joined forces to launch a massive war against the Southern Xuan Kingdom.

They swept in fiercely, with ancient beasts rampaging and even two Demon Beasts joining the fray.

The Southern Xuan Kingdom begged for help from all sides, but none could withstand the assault.

The Xuanchen Clan urgently petitioned Drake Abyss for aid.

His Majesty the Celestial Emperor did not mobilize the Divine Guard, but instead sent the Divine Commanders’ Training Camp to handle the crisis in the Southern Xuan Kingdom.

He appointed Sean Shaw as commander-in-chief, with Ian Yan, Jumin Jing, and Lucia Lu as deputy commanders. The rest were to follow their orders.

After several years together, everyone had come to trust Sean Shaw.

No one objected.

Only Henry Xiao lowered his gaze, hiding his obvious dissatisfaction.

He was the elder brother, Sean Shaw was the younger, yet he had to obey his orders. It was seriously irritating.

But then, Sean Shaw is at High God Rank, isn't he?

Cultivation decides everything. No matter how much Henry Xiao resents it, he doesn't have the strength to challenge him.

......

When they arrived at the Southern Xuan Kingdom, a battle had just ended.

The capital of the Southern Xuan Kingdom was in ruins, with shattered walls everywhere and mountains of corpses.

Only the imperial palace, protected by a spirit barrier, remained intact.

The generals of the Southern Xuan Kingdom reported that the enemy had hundreds of thousands of Flying Riders from the Heavenly Moon Empire.

The commanders of these Flying Riders were all at Demigod Rank, some even at High Immortal Rank, and every one of them was a fierce fighter.

There were also thousands of妖兵 and妖将 led by three elder beasts, with Baxa at their head.

The most terrifying were those妖兵.

Each elder beast was incredibly tough, with bizarre and endless tricks. The defenders had no way to resist.

Several major cities of the Southern Mystic Empire had already fallen to them.

But up to now, they didn’t even know where the enemy’s main camp was...

After getting the lay of the land, Sean Shaw gathered the Divine Commanders’ Training Camp officers together.

"Any ideas?" Sean Shaw asked.

"Their forces aren’t much!" Jumin Jing sneered. "My cousin’s Entwined Heart flute alone could mop up most of them! As for the elder beasts, there aren’t even enough for each of us to take one!"

Sean Shaw shot him a look but said nothing.

"I think His Majesty the Celestial Emperor sent us here to mediate, not to wipe out the Heavenly Moon Empire," Ian Yan said. "We need to figure out the root of their feud, who’s right and who’s wrong, then decide what to do."

Sean Shaw nodded slightly.

"Isn’t it obvious?" Henry Xiao said. "Heavenly Moon has smashed Southern Mystic this badly—they obviously want to annex it! What’s the point of splitting hairs over right and wrong?"
