Who Else Wants to Fight, I Will Accompany You
A single Emperor challenging a group of Immortal Sovereigns—this was unheard of. Evan Yang knew his blood was no longer a secret, so he stopped hiding it. Since things had come to this, he wanted to test his strength and show these Sovereigns that he wasn’t some weakling they could squeeze at will.
The Sovereigns exchanged glances. One of them suggested, "Since that's the case, we should keep things fair—each match should be one-on-one, and no one else is allowed to interfere. Alliance Leader, how about you act as referee?"
This was clearly directed at the Alliance Leader. If he intervened mid-fight, no one would ever be able to defeat Evan Yang.
But the Alliance Leader was still stunned—what was Evan Yang’s real intention? Did he really have the strength to challenge Immortal Sovereigns? That seemed a bit much. Even a sixth-tier Emperor, no matter how powerful, was still just an Emperor and shouldn’t be able to defeat Sovereigns. Yet Evan just smiled at him and said, "Alliance Leader, just agree."
Seeing Evan Yang’s confident smile, the Alliance Leader didn’t believe he’d risk his life for a joke. He was curious to see what Evan could really do, so he agreed, "Fine, since you insist, I’ll be the referee. I hope everyone follows the rules—if anyone tries any tricks, I won’t let them off."
Seeing Evan Yang step up to offer his blood, the others felt there was no need for tricks—they could just rely on their strength to overpower him.
They discussed the order of matches and prepared to take turns. But this wasn’t fair to Evan Yang—if he lost even once, he’d be seriously injured and the rest would barely need any effort. So they came up with a compromise: just subdue him, no need to go all out.
With this restriction, their strength was limited—which made things even easier for Evan Yang.
But they had no idea just how terrifying Evan Yang really was. As the group chose a place in the void for their battle, the others watched from the side. "What’s your name, Immortal Sovereign?" Evan asked the first challenger.
"I am Ling-Jade Immortal Sovereign. I live deep in the mountains, but lately I need some special blood. I heard you have it, so I came to see for myself. I hope you’ll share some." Ling-Jade Immortal Sovereign smiled.
"Defeat me and I’ll give it to you. If you can’t, then there’s nothing I can do." Evan Yang smiled.
"Fine, then let me show you the gap between an Immortal Sovereign and an Emperor." Ling-Jade Immortal Sovereign grinned, then vanished in a flash—his speed was astonishing.
Normally, an Emperor couldn’t even track an Immortal Sovereign, let alone keep up. But Evan Yang managed it—his divine sense spread everywhere, and when he sensed Ling-Jade behind him trying to grab him, Evan flashed aside at incredible speed.
This speed shocked all the Immortal Sovereigns watching. Some even muttered, "Is that really an Emperor’s speed?"
Ling-Jade Immortal Sovereign, who missed his grab, stared in shock. "How is that possible?"
"Nothing’s impossible. Want to keep going?" Evan Yang asked.
"Kid, you think just being fast makes you equal to an Immortal Sovereign? Let me show you real power!" Ling-Jade pointed, and a thin jet of water shot out at incredible speed, like an arrow aimed to pierce Evan Yang.
Evan Yang spread his hand, releasing a burst of flame that blocked the water, turning it into steam.
An Emperor’s flame blocking an Immortal Sovereign’s water—this stunned the watching Sovereigns. It was simply unbelievable.
"What’s going on?" Ling-Jade Immortal Sovereign exclaimed in shock.
Evan Yang replied, "Nothing strange about it—I’m simply countering you."
"Impossible! Water counters fire, not the other way around—especially since you’re just an Emperor." Ling-Jade Immortal Sovereign protested.
"What? Still don’t believe what you just saw? Want to keep going?" Evan Yang asked with a smile.
The Alliance Leader was delighted—he hadn’t expected Evan Yang, after a hundred years away, to have grown so powerful.
The surrounding Immortal Sovereigns were also shocked. Evan Yang couldn’t be judged as just an Emperor anymore—he was far beyond that, able to contend with Sovereigns.
"Facts? Then let me show you some facts!" Ling-Jade Immortal Sovereign roared. Suddenly, a massive barrier enveloped Evan Yang, filling instantly with water.
Evan Yang looked around inside the water.
"Kid, just admit defeat. Soon, the water will seep into your body and dissolve you." Ling-Jade Immortal Sovereign sneered.
"Is that so? I wouldn’t be so sure." Evan Yang smiled. As he spoke, a layer of ice formed around him, blocking the water.
Now the crowd began to cry out in surprise. Rumor had it Evan Yang had dual attributes, but the second was supposed to be earth—how could he use ice? Even the Alliance Leader couldn’t help but comment, "This kid hid his abilities well."
Ling-Jade Immortal Sovereign was stunned. To produce ice meant a powerful mastery over water—but how could Evan Yang pull it off? He tried to break Evan’s ice inside the barrier, but couldn’t. It was like endless walls of ice: break one, another appeared. Evan, unfazed, teased, "Ling-Jade Immortal Sovereign, you might as well give up. This is pointless." Ling-Jade used every trick he had, yet couldn’t defeat an Emperor. None of them had ever imagined this was possible.
The next Immortal Sovereign in line said, "Ling-Jade, let me try."
Ling-Jade awkwardly withdrew his barrier, and Evan Yang returned to normal, waiting for the next match. Just then, the Alliance Leader approached Evan and asked, "Kid, you can use water too?"
"Yeah, a little," Evan Yang replied with a smile.
"What’s going on?" the Alliance Leader asked suspiciously.
"Well, how should I put it? Alliance Leader, you know my mother is from the Water Palace. It’s not strange for her son to be able to use water, right?" Evan Yang smiled.
"Kid, that’s not how it works. Tell me the truth," the Alliance Leader said with a laugh.
"I possess both ice and fire within me, that’s why." Evan Yang considered the Alliance Leader a friend, so he didn’t hide anything.
The Alliance Leader wasn’t ignorant. Hearing about ice and fire, he knew those powers belonged to the Water Palace, guarded by its people. How could Evan Yang have them? But he didn’t press further—it was beyond his imagination. He patted Evan’s shoulder and said, "With you in the Immortal Realm, we won’t fear the demons anymore." Evan laughed, "You’re exaggerating, Alliance Leader. I’m not that strong yet."
"Maybe not now, but you will be," the Alliance Leader said with a smile.
"What are you talking about? I’m still waiting for my blood." The next challenger said impatiently.
Evan Yang stepped forward, but the Alliance Leader warned him, "This one specializes in poison. Many Immortal Sovereigns fear him, so be careful. If you’re poisoned, you could lose."
When it came to poison, Evan Yang had nothing to fear, so he didn’t worry at all. He just smiled, "Got it. Thanks, Alliance Leader."
The challenger introduced himself as Ten-Thousand Venoms Immortal Sovereign. Evan Yang grinned, "Ten-Thousand Venoms Immortal Sovereign, you’re famous for your poison. Planning to use it against me now?"
"That’s right. In fact, I’ve already poisoned you the moment you entered. This poison is colorless and tasteless—a sure kill for anyone below Immortal Sovereign. You may be strong, but I don’t believe your body can withstand it." Ten-Thousand Venoms sneered.
"Oh? That ruthless?" Evan Yang didn’t even realize he’d been poisoned, but the Heavenly Cold Seed in his body had already started working automatically. The Alliance Leader was shocked—he hadn’t expected Evan to be ambushed so soon, and the crowd assumed Evan was doomed. How could someone below Sovereign level resist Ten-Thousand Venoms’ poison?
"In fifteen minutes, you’ll be completely paralyzed," Ten-Thousand Venoms told Evan Yang with a smile.
"Is that so? I don’t think I need fifteen minutes. Let’s settle this now." Evan Yang said, then flashed in front of Ten-Thousand Venoms, who quickly dodged out of range.
Evan Yang knew his speed was no advantage against Immortal Sovereigns—they could chase or escape at will. Still, he didn’t despair. If speed wouldn’t work, he’d try something else.
He blinked his fiery eyes, forcing Ten-Thousand Venoms to dodge again and again, never daring to linger. The crowd was amazed—Evan’s flames were not only fast, but incredibly powerful.
Ten-Thousand Venoms was terrified by Evan’s flames—if even water from an Immortal Sovereign could be blocked, he didn’t dare face it alone. All he could do now was stall for time, hoping Evan would run out of strength.
But that wasn’t the case—Evan Yang showed no signs of being poisoned, attacking Ten-Thousand Venoms relentlessly. When the time was up, Ten-Thousand Venoms grinned, "You’re finished."
But just as he finished speaking, flames closed in on him and set him ablaze. He was shocked—he hadn’t expected Evan Yang to still be fighting. He thought Evan would collapse, so he hadn’t dodged, and ended up burned.
Seeing Ten-Thousand Venoms jumping around, the crowd was amazed—either Evan Yang was immune to poison, or Ten-Thousand Venoms’ poison was useless.
Ten-Thousand Venoms realized his poison had failed. He was shocked—defeating Evan Yang was now impossible. He quickly retreated out of Evan’s range, finally leaving the arena, with the smell of burning still lingering on him.
"That was brilliant," the Alliance Leader said with a smile.
After the first two attempts, the remaining Immortal Sovereigns hesitated. If they continued, could they really defeat Evan Yang? But if they lost, they’d only embarrass themselves. Evan’s potential was terrifying—if he advanced even further, Sovereigns would have nothing to fear from him.
Seeing their hesitation, Evan Yang laughed, "Anyone else? I’m ready!"
The crowd fell silent, exchanging glances. The Alliance Leader hadn’t expected the Sovereigns to be so intimidated that they didn’t dare challenge Evan Yang.
Evan Yang waited a while, but no one moved. He said, "If that’s the case, everyone can leave and pretend nothing happened. But if you keep pestering me, I’ll treat you as enemies."
