Have You Ever Been Beaten by Someone You Know

Gregory Gu Jr. lifted the curtain and looked outside, and sure enough, he saw two assassins dressed in black standing in front of the carriage.

Gregory Gu Jr. let out a scornful laugh, thinking to himself, where did these assassins come from? Are they out of their minds, trying to assassinate him in broad daylight with only two people? Do they really think the Gu Family's elite guards are just for show?

Since Gregory Gu Jr. was in a bad mood today anyway, he simply lifted the curtain wide open, ready to enjoy the spectacle of those two assassins getting beaten up. He treated it as entertainment, hoping it would cheer him up.

In just a blink, countless Gu Family experts appeared from both sides of the alley, completely surrounding the two assassins in black.

Gregory Gu Jr. leaned against the carriage, ready to watch the show.

Of the two assassins, the taller one’s eyes flashed coldly as he looked at the group of Gu Family experts. He snorted disdainfully, then took the initiative—his movements were so fast he seemed almost ghostly, instantly knocking down the three closest Gu Family experts and rendering them unable to move.

The slightly shorter man beside him also sprang into action with incredible speed. His martial arts were just as formidable—one palm strike sent seven or eight experts stumbling back several steps!

Seeing this, Gregory Gu Jr.’s heart sank. He thought to himself, this is bad—these two assassins are no ordinary fighters. Just one move proved their skills were extraordinary.

In front of these two men in black, the Gu Family’s experts were like three-year-old toddlers—completely powerless. Gregory watched as his elite guards were tossed around like rag dolls: some sent flying, some thrown onto the walls, some hung up in the trees. In the blink of an eye, every single one was dealt with.

Then the two men in black stood with their hands behind their backs and slowly walked toward the carriage.

The coachman had just tried to fight back when the taller man in black struck him on the back of the head with a palm wind, knocking him out cold.

Gregory Gu Jr. panicked instantly. He hadn’t expected these two to so easily incapacitate all the Gu Family’s experts—it was simply unbelievable!

Gregory Gu Jr. didn’t know who these men were, but put on a calm front and said, “Masters, who is your employer? How much are they paying you? I’ll offer ten times that. With skills like yours, why not work for me? I guarantee you a life of luxury.”

Unexpectedly, the two men in black exchanged glances, both eyes full of disdain and mockery.

The taller man in black reached out, grabbed Gregory Gu Jr. by the collar, and dragged him out of the carriage, tossing him onto the ground.

Gregory Gu Jr. rolled on the ground, his moon-white robe now covered in dirt, looking utterly disheveled. His face turned pale and his voice trembled: “Do you know who I am!? I am Gregory Gu Jr., the Imperial Grand Tutor! How dare you offend me—do you have a death wish!?”

The taller man in black crouched down, his eyes glinting with mischief. He asked with a smirk, “Gregory Gu Jr., have you ever been beaten up by someone you know?”

Gregory Gu Jr. was stunned, staring at the taller man in black as if struck by lightning. He could hardly believe his eyes—wasn’t this Alexander Hayes, his old rival?

He was so shocked that he couldn’t even utter a word for a long moment.
