The Price of Bullying Lily

"I..." Gregory Gu Jr. looked at Alexander Hayes, guilty and unable to speak.

Normally, Gregory Gu Jr. wouldn't feel guilty facing Alexander Hayes, since they were merely political opponents at court, exchanging barbs but not sworn enemies.

But today was different. Gregory Gu Jr. had just gone to Prince of Qin's Manor, failed to arrange a meeting with Princess Lily Hayes, and now Alexander Hayes had come looking for him—how could he not feel guilty?

"Prince Alexander, we are both officials in court. I am the Imperial Grand Tutor—you cannot hit me! If you assault a court official and the Emperor finds out, you'll be in serious trouble!" Gregory Gu Jr. said, his face pale.

Alexander Hayes clicked his tongue, grabbed Gregory Gu Jr. by the collar, and sneered, "What proof do you have that it was me who hit you?"

Gregory Gu Jr. choked on his words, glancing at Alexander Hayes dressed head-to-toe in night gear, then at the group of Gu Family experts lying unconscious nearby.

There wasn't a single passerby in this back alley, so Gregory Gu Jr. really couldn't prove it was Alexander Hayes who hit him.

Alexander Hayes narrowed his eyes, as if smiling, "Grand Tutor Gu, it seems you've never been beaten by someone you know. Well, tonight I'll let you experience what it's like to be thrashed by an acquaintance."

"No, don't! Ah!" Gregory Gu Jr. screamed as Alexander Hayes's massive fist swung toward his face, landing squarely on his eye and giving him a black eye.

Gregory Gu Jr. clutched his eye and rolled on the ground, shouting, "You can't kill me! If I die, it'll cause a huge scandal—the Emperor will definitely investigate, and you won't escape responsibility!"

Another man in black nearby chuckled and said, "Tsk, Grand Tutor Gu, let me tell you a story. Once, our Lin Family had a young lady who fell in love with a young man. But the man was fickle and ran off with another woman. The Lin Family lady was furious, found the man, and stabbed him over a hundred times—each time missing the vital spots. When the man went to the magistrate, the doctor checked and saw every wound was superficial. They couldn't do anything to our Lin Family lady. Tsk, Grand Tutor Gu, with my skills, I could stab you five or six hundred times and still not kill you. Want to try?"

"Y-you're Dr. Rowan Lin? The Medical Sage of the Lin Family!" Gregory Gu Jr. gasped, staring at the man in black, cursing himself for only worrying about Lily Evans and forgetting about this walking disaster!

Now Dr. Rowan Lin and Lily Evans's mother are engaged, and the wedding is tomorrow. Lily Evans is not only Princess Lily Hayes, but also Dr. Rowan Lin's stepdaughter—the Lin Family's young lady!

Now the Medical Sage himself is here to avenge his daughter—this is bad news!

Dr. Rowan Lin snorted, pulled out a small knife with one hand and a needle with the other, then swiftly jabbed Gregory Gu Jr.'s mute acupoint. He said to Alexander Hayes, "Good son-in-law, I've sealed his mute acupoint so that annoying mouth of his can't spew nonsense and get people riled up. You soften him up first, then I'll use my little knife to show him what happens when you bully Ali!"

"Yes, Father-in-law." Alexander Hayes sneered and walked toward Gregory Gu Jr.

Gregory Gu Jr. shrank back desperately, his eyes full of terror...

In the back alley, the dignified Grand Tutor Gu was beaten by Alexander Hayes like a sandbag—one moment sent flying, the next kicked into a tree. His face looked like a paint palette, bruised and colorful, a true spectacle.

Meanwhile, Dr. Rowan Lin's scalpel was itching to join in, ready for round two...
