Susie Yun was a thousand times unwilling. So what if she was pregnant!
She had been worried at first, but after seeing Morgan Shangguan give birth to her child, she wasn't worried at all. The baby came out in a flash—there was nothing scary about it!
She seemed to forget that Morgan Shangguan was no ordinary person, and the baby was special too! Not everyone could give birth so easily, so quietly, and bring a child into the world without any trouble!
Though she was reluctant, Susie Yun didn't want Ryan Ouyang to worry, so she obediently said goodbye to the two adorable babies!
Morgan Shangguan and her daughter got along well, but as for Maxwell Jing and Julian Ji, all they did was stare at each other, big eyes to big eyes!
Maxwell Jing lowered his head, struggling to hold back his laughter. Who would have thought the Guildmaster had gained yet another 'enemy'—and such a tiny one at that!
Morgan Shangguan's childbirth was indeed much too easy. After giving birth, she felt no discomfort at all, as if the child hadn't come from her at all!
But the timing of the baby's birth was truly perfect. This way, she could still go treasure hunting on the fifteenth of September as planned. Maybe the baby knew she wanted to go, and that's why it arrived just in time!
With two more children, the Ghost King's Manor became even livelier. Both babies were so lovable that anyone who saw them couldn't help but want to hold them!
Roxy Shangguan was especially lively, always waving her little arms and legs, babbling nonstop. No one knew what she was trying to say, but whoever held her got a sweet smile in return—it was enough to melt anyone's heart!
Ethan Gray was just the opposite—quiet and still, always looking as if he didn't want to move. If someone tried to pick him up, his first reaction was to frown, then glare at you until you backed off!
But if Morgan Shangguan wanted to hold him, he was perfectly agreeable!
Whenever he had a spare moment these past few days, Maxwell Jing would come to see the two babies. He always tried to tease Ethan Gray, hoping to make him smile, but it never seemed to work!
"Little Ethan, be good! Give me a smile, and Uncle will give you some candy!"
Ethan Gray kept his eyes closed, refusing to look. He had no interest in Maxwell Jing at all. Meanwhile, Roxy Shangguan giggled in the nurse's arms, as if she were laughing at Maxwell Jing.
Ethan Gu stood to the side, reporting on the Ghost Guild's affairs and the recent happenings in the martial world to Damien Gray. Damien held Morgan Shangguan in his arms, listening absent-mindedly, while Morgan seemed lost in thought.
When Ethan Gu finished, Morgan finally mused, "Is Qin Yan planning to strike first? If we don't give him the chance, it almost feels unfair to him!"
To be honest, Qin Yan's actions were understandable. Morgan had made it clear she wouldn't spare Qin Fortress, so instead of sitting around and waiting, it was better for him to act first.
But the intelligence networks of the Ghost Guild and Cloud Guild were truly formidable. Nothing in the martial world could escape their notice. Every move Qin Yan made was as transparent as glass to Morgan Shangguan!
Damien Gray absentmindedly stroked her hair and curled his lips. It looked like Qin Yan was really about to meet his doom!
"Ya-ya..." Over there, Ethan Gray finally had enough of Maxwell Jing and uttered two indistinct syllables.
Maxwell Jing felt a great sense of accomplishment and asked with a smile, "Little Ethan, what are you trying to say?"
Damien Gray watched him with an amused look and helped translate, "He said you're childish!"
"What?" Maxwell Jing couldn't help twitching his lips as he looked at Ethan Gray, who had closed his eyes again. He was utterly speechless. What kind of kid was this? Definitely not cute!
Morgan Shangguan raised an eyebrow at Damien Gray and smiled. Actually, he wasn't that annoyed by the babies after all!
Maxwell Jing, looking frustrated, walked over to Ethan Gu, glanced at him, then playfully lifted his chin and teased, "Come on, give me a smile!"
Seeing that everything was fine, Ethan Gu simply grabbed Maxwell Jing and left!
Maxwell Jing was dragged away, still complaining, "Hey, I'm in a bad mood right now! What's wrong with asking for a smile?"
Just as the two left, someone arrived with news—the imperial edict had come from the palace!
In fact, it wasn't just the edict. They also brought a large number of boxes and chests!
The eunuch delivering the decree wore a fawning smile and, stopping a short distance from them, quickly announced, "Prince and Princess Consort, no need for formalities!"
Morgan Shangguan raised an eyebrow and glanced at Damien Gray. Had they been too formal? She guessed this was a special instruction from Sophie Qiu.
Of course, Sophie Qiu would never dare make Lord Ghostmaster kneel; her power and status all depended on him!
Morgan Shangguan glanced at the long line of attendants behind the eunuch and raised her eyebrows slightly. So many things—could they all be gifts for the babies?
The eunuch read the imperial decree to the affectionate couple. Officially, these gifts were bestowed by Prince Ethan to the little prince and princess, but Morgan Shangguan and Damien Gray knew full well that Prince Ethan wasn't really in charge now.
Besides the gifts, they were even granted fiefdoms—not just Ethan Gray, but Roxy Shangguan too. One had to admit, Sophie Qiu was truly generous!
After delivering the decree, the eunuch took his leave, but before he left, he couldn't help stealing another glance at Morgan Shangguan, full of confusion. He hadn't heard that the Princess Consort was pregnant—how did she suddenly have two children?
Could it be that the Ghost King had fathered children elsewhere, and the Princess Consort, unable to tolerate other women, brought the children to the manor and claimed them as her own to fool everyone?
He couldn't help shaking his head. No matter how much they tried to fool people, it wouldn't work! Anyone with a brain knew the Princess Consort hadn't been in the manor long enough. Even if she got pregnant right after moving in, the babies shouldn't be born yet—and her belly had never grown, so it was impossible!
But it wasn't his place to worry. In the palace, you had to know what to care about and what to ignore.
Morgan Shangguan took in the eunuch's expression and couldn't help but laugh softly. It was certainly suspicious, but as long as people only suspected and didn't prove the babies were truly hers, things would be much less troublesome.
