Exactly One Thousand Years Old

"Fifth Highness, have you already reached High God cultivation?" Ryan Lu asked.

Sean Shaw nodded slightly, glanced at Lucia, his eyes a bit bright: "I ascended two hundred years ago."

Ryan Lu: "So how old are you this year, Fifth Highness?"

"Exactly one thousand years old."

"Whoa! You're two hundred years younger than me!" Ryan Lu looked deeply wounded. "Seriously, every single one of you—you're all total freaks!"

......

Later, it seemed that Emperor Evan and Empress Grace had really laid into Princess Quinn, because she didn’t dare throw tantrums everywhere anymore. She was way more restrained.

But whenever she looked at Lucia and her siblings, her eyes always carried a bit of hostility.

His Majesty the Celestial Emperor really knows how to handle things.

When he first made Sean Shaw the teaching aide, every day a bunch of Divine Ladies swarmed him, asking all sorts of nonsense—obviously, their real aim wasn’t academic.

So then he handed out a mock exam for everyone to see.

The trainees took one look and—oh my god! This was way too hard! Tons of recitation and essay questions; if you didn’t seriously study those military texts, you had zero chance of passing.

So everyone’s stress shot up, and they started memorizing like their lives depended on it.

Of course, some Divine Ladies still went to the teaching aide with questions, but at least now the questions were way deeper.

The most persistent of them all? Jenna Summers, hands down.

Maybe it was because of her old heart condition, but Jenna always clutched her chest out of habit, looking so delicate and pitiful that it made people want to coddle her.

One day after class, when most people had left, she floated over again.

She glided over gracefully and knelt beside Sean Shaw, asking, "Fifth Highness, what does this line mean? I’ve checked all sorts of sources, but I just can’t figure it out."

Sean explained it to her in detail.

Normally, he hardly ever spoke.

But when he did speak, his explanations were clear and logical.

Jenna Summers listened with stars in her eyes, completely entranced by him.

Sean Shaw frowned slightly and asked, "Do you get it now?"

"Oh! I get it now! Thank you so much, Fifth Highness!" Jenna Summers lifted her skirt, ready to stand up.

But just as she stood up, maybe a bit too quickly, she suddenly clutched her chest, looking pained—and toppled straight toward Sean Shaw.

Sean instantly...teleported out of the way.

Jenna really did take a hard fall this time!

She’d thought for sure Fifth Highness would catch her.

But instead, he’d just vanished.

She landed hard, right where Sean had been sitting just a moment ago.

She looked up to see Fifth Highness standing off to the side, expressionless, watching coldly.

"Jenna!" Adrian Drake rushed over to help her. "Are you okay?"

"I’m fine," she said, looking pretty embarrassed. "I just got up too fast and felt a little dizzy."

"You’ve always had a heart condition, you should really be careful," Adrian said. "Come on, let me help you back. Did you bring your medicine? Maybe take some."

Jenna didn’t answer. Unwilling to give up, she looked over at Sean, bowed and apologized: "Sorry, Fifth Highness, I startled you!"

"If you’re sick, why are you even here at the Palace Guard Barracks?" Sean said. "Go home."

"I’m fine!" Jenna immediately refused Adrian’s help. "My heart condition is totally cured!"

Sean didn’t say another word. He just went back to his seat, wiped it down carefully with a handkerchief, and only then sat back down to keep reading—radiating a serious 'do not approach' vibe.

Jenna bit her lip hard, then turned and left.

Adrian hurried after her: "Jenna, are you really okay? Let me check your pulse..."

Lucia watched Sean with amusement, then whispered to Luna, "Fifth Highness seems to be a total neat freak! He won’t touch anyone, and if someone sits where he did, he has to wipe it down before sitting again."
