Be a Little More Proactive

Luna Lian didn't answer.

Lucia Lu glanced at her and saw that she was staring gloomily at Adrian Drake, who had just run off with Jenna Summers.

"Lianlian..." Lucia frowned.

"Sis, can you walk with me for a bit?" Luna said.

Lucia nodded and went out with her.

As soon as they left, the teaching aide sitting at the front desk quietly packed up his books and left as well.

Drake Abyss has several Palace Guard camps.

The one they're in is the core camp, located on a massive island in the middle of the endless Sea of Peril.

Real Palace Guards practice formation arrays both in the air and in the water.

Someday, their group will too.

The sisters stood together at the shore, gazing at the Palace Guard formations drilling in the distance.

"...That time, when we went to gather herbs, I got stung by a poisonous scorpion by accident. He sucked out the venom for me, and then stayed up late refining medicine for me on a snowy night... Ever since then, he's been different in my heart. I always thought... maybe I'm different to him too. But now, suddenly, I realize..."

Luna grew sad: "I suddenly realized, he's actually that nice to everyone. And he pays extra attention to Divine Lady Jenna. Sis, do you think he likes Divine Lady Jenna?"

Sean once said, Adrian likes Jenna.

But Lucia had never told Luna.

She was afraid it would hurt her if she knew.

But now, it seemed Luna had figured it out anyway.

Lucia thought for a moment and said, "Lianlian, why don't you confess to him? You're always so quiet and never talk to him, how would he ever know how you feel?"

"No." Luna shook her head fiercely. "I won't say it."

"Why not?"

"If he doesn't like me, saying it out loud would just be humiliating and awkward. If he does like me... with his personality, he'd be the one to say it first."

Luna gave a self-mocking smile: "But all this time, he's never said a word..."

"Lianlian! What's the point of moping? If he won't say it, then you should! People's hearts are separated by a layer of solid ice! Someone has to break the ice first! You're a girl, but you can still take the first step. If he feels your sincerity, he'll respond."

Luna still shook her head, looking defeated and discouraged: "Love can't be forced. Just let it be..."

"Lianlian! There are lots of things in this world you can't force! Like cultivation—just because you want to ascend to High God, doesn't mean you can! But if you never try, how do you know it's impossible?" Lucia shook her shoulders.

Luna bit her lip and said nothing.

"Trust me, be a little proactive," Lucia said. "Even if you don't say it directly, let him feel it. Let him know you like him."

Luna looked at Lucia, envy written all over her face. "Sis, I wish I could borrow some of your courage! I'm always so timid... I really hate it!"

Lucia shook her head, "Lianlian isn't timid at all! You're always thinking of others—a little angel in every way..."

...

On their way back, they happened to run into Henry Xiao.

"Fourth Highness." The girls greeted him respectfully.

"Where did my two little sisters go?" Henry asked.

"We went to the seaside to watch the Palace Guards practice formations for a while," Lucia replied.

"How are your studies going?" Henry asked. "Are you able to understand those military strategy books?"

"It's okay. The theories make sense, but when it comes to real situations, I still have no clue how to use them," Lucia said.
