The Question of Marrying In
Ryan Lu glared angrily at Lucy: "You actually didn't tell me? Something this important and you kept it from me! If I'd been here, I would've beaten her to death! What's the point of sending her away? Should've just killed her! That would've avenged our Little Five!"
"Little Five?" Adrian Drake looked at Sean in confusion.
"Not this Little Five! I mean the little sister my Mother Goddess gave birth to," Ryan said. "She was the fifth child in our family, so of course we called her Little Five."
"That's right!" Adrian said. "Ah, what a pity! Such a good kid, she would've been born next month."
"Exactly..."
...
As they were leaving, Sean called Lucy back.
Lucy asked, "What's up?"
"My Flower Eggs... are they still here?"
You're really persistent... Lucy smiled, lips pressed together: "They're still here!"
"Can I have them for a bit? I want to take them back with me."
Lucy nodded. "Come with me."
Sean followed her.
Adrian glanced at the two of them and muttered, "Little Five's getting mischievous now, up to no good."
Mia Quinn smiled. "You should get some rest. We're heading out too."
Adrian nodded, looking a bit deflated.
Mia thought he was just tired and didn't dwell on it, leaving with Ryan.
...
Lucy led Sean into her courtyard.
Looking at the courtyard full of dazzling Luminous Golden Chalice Blooms, Sean sighed, "It's really beautiful here."
Lucy pointed to a rack among the flowers. "They're over there!"
Sean walked over and saw the two Flower Eggs side by side on the rack, both thriving.
"Go ahead and take them!" Lucy said. "If you like, you can take both."
But Sean said, "They seem to be growing better here than in Drake Abyss."
"Yep! They're native to the Lumina Realm, so of course they thrive here."
Sean fell silent at her words, just standing there quietly.
Are you thinking of staying in the Lumina Realm instead of going to Drake Abyss?
Seeing him hesitate, Lucy used a spell to make the two Flower Eggs float over and handed them to him.
Sean took them and said, "My father, His Majesty, said... he hopes I'll always stay by his side."
"Huh?" Lucy was a bit lost at his words.
Sean put the two Flower Eggs back and said, "Since they grow better here, let's leave them. We can come visit them together."
Lucy: "...Huh?"
"I'll head back now. You should get some rest," Sean said.
"Why don't you... come in for some tea?" Lucy asked.
Sean glanced inside, his ears turning a little red, and nodded.
So Lucy invited him in, brewed a pot of tea, and handed him a cup. "Try it? It's my favorite—Immortal Osmanthus Tea."
Sean took a sip, nodded, and said, "It's wonderful. Sweet and refreshing."
Lucy sipped her tea and asked, "Earlier you said His Majesty wants you to stay with him. What did you mean?"
"Well..." Sean's cheeks flushed. "He doesn't want me to marry in as a live-in son-in-law."
"Pfft! Cough cough!" Lucy choked, covering her mouth as she coughed hard.
Sean hurried over to pat her back, frowning. "Careful!"
After finally stopping her coughs, Lucy, eyes and nose red, asked, "So why did you suddenly think of the 'marrying in' thing just now?"
Sean looked at her, slowly broke into a smile—a stunning, heart-stopping smile, his eyes full of warmth and meaning.
Lucy bit her lip. "What are you smiling at!"
