Driven Out

Sean Shaw didn't say a word. Quietly, he reached out, trying to take her hand.

"Lucy Luan!" Suddenly, a shout rang out from outside.

Sean's hand jerked in surprise and he quickly pulled it back.

Then, Ethan Lu walked in.

"Big brother!" Lucy Luan stood up. "What are you doing here?

Ethan glanced at Lucy Luan, then at Sean, his face darkening. "It's late—what are you two doing?"

"N-nothing!" Lucy Luan stammered, her cheeks flushing as she realized just how guilty she sounded.

"Fifth Highness, what are you doing in my sister's room?" Ethan asked Sean directly.

Sean said, "Looking at the flowers."

"The flowers are outside. There aren't any in here," Ethan replied.

"Big brother!" Lucy Luan called out, a little annoyed. "I just wanted to offer Fifth Highness some tea."

"If it's just tea, why are you sitting together?"

Ethan said, "It's the middle of the night. Men and women shouldn't be alone together."

"I just choked! He... he..." Lucy Luan pointed at Sean, mortified, feeling like she might explode from the awkwardness.

"Fifth Highness, maybe you'd like to have tea in my room instead?" Ethan said expressionlessly.

Sean replied, "No, thank you... I'll head back now."

With that, he hurried out.

He looked like a thief caught red-handed, totally flustered.

Lucy Luan sent a voice transmission, hollering at her brother: "Big brother! Seriously, who chases off their guest like that?"

Ethan shot her a warning look. "Unmarried man, unmarried woman, alone together in the middle of the night—do you think that's appropriate?"

"We were just having tea! We didn't do anything!" Lucy Luan protested.

"What else did you want to do?" Ethan raised his hand as if to smack her.

Lucy Luan dodged like lightning. "Alright, alright! He's already gone—can you chill?"

"Don't let this happen again."

"Okay!"

"Whether at home or outside—absolutely not!"

"Got it!"

Ethan turned to leave.

"Hey, big brother! Is everything settled?"

Ethan said, "Her Divine Vein is abolished. She's been thrown out of the Lumina Realm."

Lucy Luan nodded. "So, did you come to see me for something, big brother?"

Ethan said, "I heard Fifth Highness arrived, so I came to pay my respects. Then I heard he'd gone to your room!"

Lucy Luan pursed her lips and said nothing.

......

Adrian Drake and Sean stayed as guests in Peach Blossom Haven.

Naturally, the three younger siblings had to entertain the guests.

Luna Lian noticed Adrian had been acting strange lately—quiet, gloomy, not quite himself.

When it was just the two of them, Luna asked, "Adrian, what's up with you lately?"

Adrian glanced at her. "Nothing's wrong! I'm fine, see?"

"You used to be so lively and always smiling. Now you barely smile at all!" Luna looked at him, puzzled.

"Everyone has to grow up sometime! Who can stay carefree forever?" Adrian clearly didn't want to discuss the topic and casually walked out.

Luna Lian watched him, puzzled, then went to ask Ryan, "Second brother, what's up with Adrian?"

"Adrian?" Ryan looked confused. "Is something wrong? Why do you ask?"

"He doesn't seem very happy," Luna said.

"Maybe his Mother Goddess is arranging another blind date?" Ryan replied offhandedly. "He was like this before—whenever they tried to match him up, he'd run off to stay with us!"

"This time feels different!" Luna said. "There's a heaviness about him."

"Maybe he can't escape this time and has to get engaged to someone he doesn't like?" Ryan laughed and shook his head. "Last time they tried to pair him with Snow Yuan, and both of them refused. Who knows who it is this time..."

Luna frowned.
