If He Becomes Your Son-in-Law

Tanya Lu slowly turned her eyes toward Lucy Luan, then suddenly shot a streak of golden light at her.

Quentin Lian, Ethan Lu, and High Goddess Vivian Lu were all shocked, rushing to shield her.

But they were a step too late.

Someone else beat them to it and swept her into his arms; crimson light flared as he used his own body to block the golden streak.

"Clink!" The hidden weapon hit the floor—a Bone-Piercing Nail laced with Hex venom.

Lucy Luan stared up in a daze at her rescuer. "Huh? Why are you here?"

It was Sean Shaw.

"We came to visit Teacher's Wife," Adrian Drake's voice rang out.

He appeared at the doorway, glaring at the already restrained Tanya Lu. "And ended up seeing this mess! What a cheap woman!"

Tanya Lu struggled desperately, but how could she hope to break free from High God Ethan Lu?

"Still trying to hurt someone? Abolish her Divine Vein! She is never to set foot in the Lumina Realm again!" Quentin Lian said darkly.

Ethan Lu nodded and took her away.

"Lucy Luan! This is all your fault! I’ll never let you go! Just wait—" Tanya Lu’s venomous voice cut off abruptly, probably knocked out by Ethan Lu.

Quentin Lian and High Goddess Vivian Lu composed themselves and came over to greet Sean. "Greetings, Fifth Highness! Our family’s misfortune has made us a laughingstock before you."

Sean Shaw quickly helped them up. "High Goddess, please, no need for such formality. May I ask, have you recovered?"

High Goddess Vivian Lu nodded. "I’m already fine."

"This is my Father Emperor’s gift." Sean Shaw opened a box. "Let it restore your vitality day by day—nothing could be better."

Inside the box was a tiny ginseng spirit, tightly bound with Immortal Binding Rope, only its little head poking out. It looked around with teary eyes, utterly adorable.

High Goddess Vivian Lu was instantly amused and reached out to take it. "Oh! What a funny little thing. Thank you, Fifth Highness."

Sean Shaw blushed a little. "Wishing you a speedy recovery."

Vivian Lu was tickled by his shy demeanor and said, "Since you’re here, stay a few days. You can all head back together then!"

Sean Shaw’s eyes lit up. He nodded enthusiastically, "Great!"

"Teacher’s Wife, this is from my Mother Goddess..." Adrian Drake also presented a gift, which Vivian Lu accepted with thanks and didn’t mention further.

After the younger ones left, Vivian Lu sighed to Quentin Lian, "Fifth Highness is such an honest child. He’s been motherless since he was little; even when giving a gift, the Celestial Emperor has to prepare it for him. Just hearing that makes my heart ache."

Quentin Lian nodded. "If he really becomes your son-in-law, you should spoil him a little more!"

"Son-in-law?" Vivian Lu recalled how Sean had shielded Lucy Luan earlier and instantly understood, smiling. But she worried, "If Lucy likes him, what about Divine Lord Soren?"

"Oh, don’t overthink it. Children have their own fortunes," Quentin Lian said. "Go try the ginseng spirit—I think it’s hilarious..."

Lucy Luan arranged rooms for Sean Shaw and Adrian Drake. The group gathered to discuss High Goddess Vivian Lu’s miscarriage.

"Fifth Highness, if not for your warning, I’d never have thought of that. Tanya Lu might’ve actually gotten away with it..." Lucy Luan said.

"If she really had succeeded... I can’t even imagine what would’ve happened next." Luna Lian shuddered. "She would’ve ruined this whole family."
