Your Situation Is Different

Early the next morning, Lily Evans woke up feeling uneasy. She was worried about Belle’s child and hadn’t slept well at all.

Lily got up early and, accompanied by Alexander Hayes, went to Belle’s small courtyard.

As soon as they entered, they saw Eugene Jr. sitting in the courtyard, his eyes bloodshot. Clearly, he hadn’t slept all night.

“How’s the child?” Lily asked Eugene Jr.

Eugene Jr. shook his head, looking as hollow as a puppet.

Lily sighed, her brows furrowing. She went inside to check on Belle and found that Belle hadn’t slept either—she lay on the bed, looking like she’d lost half her life.

“Belle... The child will be fine.” Lily held Belle’s cold hand.

Belle tried to force a smile, but couldn’t manage even that.

The two sat together in silence. Suddenly, hurried footsteps sounded outside. Lily looked up to see Simon Yu rushing in, holding a baby wrapped in a swaddle.

Quentin Lin followed closely behind Simon Yu, also entering the room.
