Turn Their Own Tactics Against Them

"You got off easy!" Rina Chu said. "You sealed up our President's shop based on a thief's word and won't let us in? Was I wrong to hit you? You're lucky I didn't treat you like a bandit and finish you off!"

Captain Walker: "Uh... uh..."

"Uh what? Hurry up and get out! Or do you want me to—"

"Rina." Grace pretended to hold her back, then addressed Captain Walker: "Captain, I'm the owner of Lucky Star. There's a ton of Mythril Ore under my shop, and I have no idea how it got there. So I'd like to see for myself. Please let me through!"

"No way..."

"Look at me." Grace held out both hands. "I'm empty-handed, not even a pocket on me. What are you afraid of? If there really is Mythril Ore inside, do you think I could carry it all out?"

"But..."

Rina Chu grabbed his wrist: "If you're that worried, just come with us!"

"I... I... Ow! Easy! Fine, I'll go!" The captain was dragged by Rina Chu, powerless to resist, straight into the underground warehouse.

And it really was a massive warehouse.

Inside, it was piled high with Mythril Ore.

There was even more than what Lucky Star had under Danyang City back in the day.

Grace scanned the area, her brows furrowing.

This basement was freshly dug!

Many of the marks were still brand new.

No one knew who dug it out, or how they did it.

Not a single person at Lucky Star had noticed a thing.

It was sealed off on all sides, with no other exit.

There was only a thief’s tunnel leading in from the backyard shrubs—must’ve been dug by that thief.

A basement warehouse with no other exit—who would believe it wasn’t dug by someone from Lucky Star, and not by outsiders?

...

"Looks like this basement was just dug out. The dirt's still fresh in a lot of places!" Rina Chu said.

"Exactly! There wasn't a basement here when we bought the place," Grace said. "Someone else dug it out and filled it with Mythril Ore to frame us!"

"Huh? People really do stuff like that?" Rina Chu gasped. "How'd they even pull it off?"

Grace just frowned and said nothing.

Just then, a man's voice echoed from above: "Sirs, this is the place! I've already checked—it's all Mythril Ore inside!"

"Liam, what's going on here?" That was Prime Minister Quentin Shaw's voice. "Did you get it straight? You made such a fuss you even reported it to the Royal Clan Office!"

Liam Wood was the son of Duke Winston Wood.

"I've got it all figured out!" Liam said. "President Grace of the Spirit Alliance opened a mine a while ago. The sign said: Soulstone Ore. Have any of you ever seen Soulstone Ore? I sure haven't!"

Liam's tone dripped with sarcasm: "They spent days digging, claimed they found nothing, but turns out everything they dug up was stashed right here!"

Grace listened from inside, taking a deep breath.

Back then, Grace used Mythril Ore to expose Charles Sun and get him executed.

Now, the Woods were using the same trick against her—turnabout is fair play...

"How much Mythril Ore is in there?" Prime Minister Quentin Shaw asked.

Liam Wood laughed, "Prime Minister, you'll see for yourself when you go down!"

"Bring a lamp, let's go down and take a look!" Quentin Shaw said.

So an officer grabbed a lamp and led the three of them down.
