"The Mythril Ore in here is enough to forge weapons for half the Spirit Cavalry!" Liam Wood said as he walked. "This Grandmaster of the Spirit Alliance, or perhaps Loyalty Manor, who knows what evil intentions they're hiding? They dug up Mythril Ore and not only failed to report it to the court, but actually kept it all for themselves! Just look—"
As he spoke, the group descended.
Liam Wood held up a lantern, pointing things out for Quentin Shaw and the others.
What they saw were three people.
One was Captain Walker, and the other two were beautiful women.
But other than that, the place was completely empty!
The three court officials all turned to look at Liam Wood.
Liam Wood was dumbstruck.
Where did the Mythril Ore go?
He'd checked just half an hour ago, and Lucky Star was sealed up tight—how could the Mythril Ore possibly have disappeared?
He must've entered the wrong way just now...
"Liam Wood, where's that Mythril Ore you claimed could arm half the Spirit Cavalry?" Prime Minister Quentin Shaw asked.
Liam Wood snapped out of it and grabbed Captain Walker by the collar. "Where's the Mythril Ore?"
Captain Walker looked dazed, and after a long pause, said, "I... I don't know."
With a loud smack, Liam Wood nearly knocked Captain Walker out. "Don't know? How could you not know? I just checked myself—this place was packed full of Mythril Ore, piled up like mountains! Where did it all go?"
Captain Walker still shook his head. "Master Wood, I really don't know!"
He wasn't lying.
He truly had no idea how it vanished.
Because in just the blink of an eye, the place was empty...
"Gentlemen," Grace spoke up at that moment. "I'm Grace, Grandmaster of the Spirit Alliance and owner of this shop. I came as soon as I heard, but I haven't seen any Mythril Ore here. I hope you can see the truth of the matter."
Prime Minister Quentin Shaw looked at her suspiciously. "You didn't see any when you arrived?"
"That's right," Grace replied. "I didn't see any ore when I arrived."
"You're lying! The Mythril Ore was here when we came in!" Captain Walker said.
"Is that so?" Grace asked Rina Chu. "Rina, did you see any ore when we came in?"
Rina Chu shook her head solemnly. "Nope."
"You must've done something!" Liam Wood pointed at Grace, sweating bullets.
"Captain Walker, how long have we been inside?" Grace asked.
"Not even three minutes," Captain Walker replied.
Grace said, "The guards at the door can confirm we've only been here less than three minutes. What could I possibly have done? Did I somehow haul out all the Mythril Ore myself?"
"You... you..." Liam Wood stammered, unable to come up with anything. He just kept sweating.
"Liam Wood, what exactly is going on here?" The Grand Chamberlain frowned. "You reported this to the Royal Clan Office—this isn't child's play!"
"There... there really was a mountain of Mythril Ore in here! I wasn't the only one who saw it!" Liam Wood insisted. "How could I dare to make a false report about something like this?"
"So where's the ore now?"
"I... I don't know... It must've been Chloe Zhu who did something! It must've been her!" Liam Wood said.
Rina Chu snorted. "Did something? If you're so good, show us how you did it!"
At this moment, Grace looked wise and said, "Gentlemen, I think I might know what's going on."
"What's going on?" Quentin Shaw and the other two turned to her.
"Take a look at this basement—isn't it freshly dug?" Grace asked.
