Obtaining Heaven Mosquito Blood

1/19/2026

Evan Chu’s frontal assault was completely blocked by the Hexagram Star Sigil. That meant he could only attack from behind, and his only viable move was the Heart-Sword. Its power wasn’t overwhelming, but if he landed a hit, he could follow up with Heavenfire—maybe that would deal serious damage.

He acted as soon as the idea struck. The Frostbane Divine Sword in Evan’s hand shot out, darting around to the Heaven Mosquito’s rear. But the Heaven Mosquito wasn’t some easy mark—it saw Evan’s Heart-Sword move clearly, though it couldn’t figure out why his sword could fly so freely.

Evan unleashed a single Windshift—countless wind blades swept toward the Heaven Mosquito. Windshift’s blades weren’t especially strong; he just cast it casually, hoping to distract the opponent. After all, the enemy was way too powerful, and that Hexagram Star Sigil’s defense was absurdly tough. Even the strongest attacks would be useless.

“Kid, your attack power’s nothing special. If you think you can break my defense, you’re dreaming. Now, let me show you the Heaven Mosquito’s image attack!” the Heaven Mosquito sneered.

As soon as it finished speaking, all Evan’s wind blades were sucked into the Hexagram Star Sigil, which instantly swelled larger and started flying straight toward him.

It was the first time Evan had seen a Hexagram Star Sigil attack someone. He felt a crushing pressure radiating from it, almost like a spatial domain—but he knew it couldn’t be just that simple. Breaking through would be insanely hard.

With a thought, he recalled the Frostbane Divine Sword, then teleported hundreds of meters away. But the Hexagram Star Sigil stuck to him like a shadow, refusing to let go.

Evan grew more and more alarmed. He teleported dozens of times, but the Hexagram Star Sigil always stayed in front of him. Of course, he didn’t teleport too far—always within the swamp region. He had to kill the Heaven Mosquito; if he missed this chance, it’d be almost impossible to finish it off, and time was running out.

After a few more teleports, Evan noticed the Hexagram Star Sigil was starting to fade—it must’ve nearly burned through its energy. He realized the sigil was sticking to him because the Heaven Mosquito was controlling it, which had to be draining its mental power like crazy. He was sure the Heaven Mosquito couldn’t cast the Hexagram Star Sigil again.

Maybe the next moment would be the Heaven Mosquito’s death. Evan didn’t hesitate—he shot straight toward the Heaven Mosquito. This time, he had to kill it. Primordial species were just too bizarre; sometimes it was hard to handle them at all.

“Heaven Mosquito, you’re strong, but even the strongest opponent in front of me can only be slain. Today, your death is inevitable!” Evan said coolly.

“Oh really? You’re that confident? Then let’s see if you can break my image defense!” The Heaven Mosquito laughed arrogantly, acting like Evan’s words didn’t matter at all.

Evan was secretly startled—could this guy really cast another Hexagram Star Sigil? That would burn a ton of mental power. But he didn’t have time to think about it. With a thought, he sent the Frostbane Divine Sword slashing out with a Divine Cleave.

This Divine Cleave was just to test whether the opponent could still summon that bizarre Hexagram Star Sigil. Sure enough, when the powerful sword-qi got within five meters of the Heaven Mosquito, the exact same sigil appeared again.

All of Evan’s attacks were absorbed by the Hexagram Star Sigil. But he noticed one thing—the sigil looked a lot dimmer than the first time, which meant it wasn’t as strong.

That gave Evan an opening. He unleashed Divine Cleave again—now, with enough Chaos Immortal Force in his body, he could cast it dozens of times. He was sure that spamming Divine Cleave would burn through the sigil’s energy, and the Heaven Mosquito would be exhausted from the mental drain. Then it’d be ripe for the taking.

After the fifth Divine Cleave, the Hexagram Star Sigil vanished. The Heaven Mosquito’s enormous body trembled slightly. Evan didn’t waste words—he knew this was his chance. With a thought, he activated Ninefold Divine-Dragon Metamorphosis, and four Evans appeared in the air.

Originally, Evan wanted to use the Unicorn Arm as well, but worried the attack would be too strong and smash the Heaven Mosquito’s body to bits—making it a pain to collect the blood.

His powerful sword-qi fused together and blasted toward the Heaven Mosquito like a thunderbolt. This time, no Hexagram Star Sigil appeared in front of it—the Heaven Mosquito could only swing its two massive mosquito legs frantically to block.

Boom! A deafening crash rang out in the sky. Evan’s domineering strike smashed the Heaven Mosquito’s body to pulp—its two legs snapped into pieces, and the air was instantly filled with a thick, bloody stench.

Evan’s sharp eyes spotted blood on a broken mosquito leg. With a thought, he cast the Star-Siphon Art and pulled it over, then took out a porcelain bottle and filled it with Heaven Mosquito blood. In just a few breaths, he had a full bottle.

After stowing it in his storage ring, Evan finally relaxed. If it were anyone else, this task would’ve been impossible. With a flash, he appeared before the fallen Heaven Mosquito—now barely clinging to life, though its Primordial aura was still fierce.

“Who are you, really? Why do you wield such terrifying power? I, Heaven Mosquito, have no grudge against you—why did you have to kill me?” Even on the verge of death, the Heaven Mosquito could still speak.

“Who I am doesn’t matter. What matters is my mission’s complete. I told you from the start I needed your blood, but you thought I was lying. I’ll tell you— I got the Hellcat’s blood too, but she was smart, so I didn’t hurt her. You, on the other hand, were stubborn, so you had to die.” Evan smiled.

At those words, the Heaven Mosquito’s mangled body trembled violently, as if fighting for life—or maybe just out of pure frustration. After a few breaths, it finally stilled. “Why didn’t you tell me about the Hellcat earlier? If I’d known she gave you her blood, I would’ve too. I’m not willing... I’m not willing...”

Evan knew the Heaven Mosquito was about to die—a Primordial species on the verge of extinction. He believed there was only one Heaven Mosquito left in the Immortal Realm. Evan felt a pang of regret; maybe he shouldn’t have hit so hard. If he’d gone easier, their kind might have survived.

With a flash, Evan flew toward where Yvonne Xuan and the others had gone. In a few breaths, he spotted them: Goldwing, Jade, and Yvonne were leaning against a huge boulder, while the Golden Dragon King anxiously scanned the area...
