Getting to Know Julia Yu

1/4/2026

After all that happened, Stephen Song and Julia Yu’s relationship actually improved a lot, and the two chatted about lighter topics.

Stephen Song had returned from abroad to take over the family business.

Domestic companies and overseas companies are quite different, and many legal provisions are also not the same.

Since Stephen Song had just come back, a lot of things weren’t going smoothly, so he took this opportunity to ask Julia Yu for advice.

Julia Yu had been a lawyer for many years, specializing in economic cases, so she naturally understood what Stephen Song needed.

So, as they ate and chatted, Julia Yu shared her views and suggestions, and also reminded him about what risks to avoid.

Stephen Song felt enlightened, suddenly understanding everything—things that used to be a mess in his head were now crystal clear.

Stephen Song’s gaze toward Julia Yu grew even more intense.

How had he never met such a capable and talented woman before?

Julia Yu smiled and said, “I know these things because I’ve always worked by Mr. Mo’s side, so I’ve naturally had a lot of exposure. Mr. Mo trusts me, so I’ve been involved in many of the company’s big cases. The Mo Consortium has its own legal team—I’m just one of them. When there aren’t any cases, I work as Mr. Mo’s assistant. For example, Miss Li Si’s matchmaking was part of my assistant duties. Since it wasn’t suitable for a male assistant, the job was given to me. Unfortunately, I let Mr. Mo down—the talented young men I picked for Miss Li Si, she didn’t like any of them. Of course, it’s also possible that someone as truly gifted as Mr. Song wouldn’t be interested in her arrogant personality either.”

Stephen Song couldn’t help but laugh. “Honestly, when I first found out my blind date was Miss Lisa Li, I was pretty disappointed. But getting to know Miss Julia Yu, I actually feel very lucky. This conversation today has really benefited me a lot. Besides business, I’d like to be friends with Miss Julia Yu as well—would it be possible to exchange contact info? If I have other questions, could I ask for your help?”

“Of course.” Julia Yu smiled. “You’re Vice President Song’s nephew. Even if you’re not part of the Mo Consortium, you’re still kind of family. If I can help, I definitely will.”

Julia Yu took out her phone, scanned WeChat with him, and then said, “I’m usually busiest in the mornings, and my work hours aren’t fixed. If I’m slow to reply to messages, please don’t mind. It’s not that I don’t want to reply—I just don’t have time to check my phone.”

Stephen Song chuckled. “No worries. Miss Julia Yu is so capable—I can imagine how busy you must be.”

Just then, Lisa Li came back from the restroom with red eyes.

Clearly, she’d been crying in there.

Julia Yu gave a wry smile.

She was the one being scolded but didn’t cry—the one doing the scolding ended up crying first.

Seriously, is there any justice in the world?

Lisa Li said, “I just called Zach Mo. I’ll go see him in a bit.”

Going to complain to Zach Mo?

Whatever.

Julia Yu nodded. “I’ll confirm with Mr. Mo. Since you don’t want to eat, you should head back first.”

Lisa Li’s eyes got even redder, but she didn’t dare throw a tantrum and just turned to leave.

“Is it really okay to let her leave on her own?” Stephen Song asked.

Julia Yu gave a self-deprecating laugh. “I have a temper too. Sure, I’m Mr. Mo’s employee, but I’m not going to put up with this kind of crap. Let her go back on her own—Mr. Mo will trust my report, not her story.”

Stephen Song admired Julia Yu even more.

How much confidence did it take to say something like that?

Saying that shows her position at the Mo Consortium isn’t something that can be easily shaken by a few words.

The two continued eating and chatting. After the meal, Julia Yu checked the time and said, “I really wish I could keep talking with you, Mr. Song, but I have a meeting at 2:30 this afternoon. Lunch is on me—don’t be polite! After all, we were the ones who were rude first.”

Stephen Song didn’t insist on paying. He just looked at Julia Yu and said, “Alright, I won’t argue with you. But, can I reserve the next chance to pay?”

Clearly, he was asking for another meal together next time.

Julia Yu laughed. “Sure, once I’m done with my current work, anytime is fine. I’ll be staying in N City for quite a while.”

Stephen Song breathed a sigh of relief, his face full of smiles. “Then let me give you a ride.”

“Alright.” Julia Yu smiled and nodded at Stephen Song, and the two left together, chatting and laughing.

When he got home, Stephen Song immediately called his uncle. “Uncle, who exactly is Julia Yu? Is she single? Does she have someone she likes?”

Vice President Song got his nephew’s call and immediately knew his nephew was interested in Julia Yu.

He knew it.

A strong, decisive woman like Julia Yu was exactly his nephew’s type.

See? Just one meeting and he’s already thinking about her.

So Vice President Song briefly explained Julia Yu’s situation to his nephew. “There are still quite a few people in our country who have a thing about women’s purity. I don’t know if Lawyer Yu is a virgin, but she definitely sold her eggs once, and those eggs were used for surrogacy to have a pair of twins. And those twins? They’re none other than the sons of the CEO of the Mo Consortium. But from what I’ve observed, neither Mr. Mo nor Lawyer Yu seem to have any intention of revealing the truth. In other words, Lawyer Yu doesn’t plan to acknowledge her sons.”

Stephen Song chuckled. “I thought it was something serious. Honestly, even if Julia Yu was divorced with kids, I wouldn’t mind. She’s so outstanding—worth pursuing.”

Vice President Song laughed. “But if you really want to pursue her, it’ll take a lot of effort. She won’t agree so easily.”

“No problem, I’ve got plenty of patience,” Stephen Song said confidently. “I have advantages others don’t, and we’d make a great couple.”

Actually, Vice President Song didn’t have much faith in his nephew, but he did think the two were a good match.

So, he figured he’d let the young people sort it out themselves.

Meanwhile, Lisa Li took a cab straight to Zach Mo’s office and started complaining: “Zach, can you please stop letting Julia Yu manage me? I really can’t take it anymore! You have no idea what she does every day! She even goes out of her way to step on me and show off how talented she is. She ruined my blind date—he was supposed to be my match, but she kept talking to him and didn’t give me a chance to speak. She’s a lawyer, her mouth is sharp, how could I beat her in an argument? Today, I was supposed to meet a really good guy, but as soon as Julia Yu saw him, she acted like she’d never met a man before and just kept talking to him. I didn’t even get a chance to introduce myself. Zach, you’re the one who cares about me most—can’t you, for my dad’s sake, stop making me work with Julia Yu? I really can’t stand her anymore!”

Zach Mo looked at Lisa Li and sighed, not knowing what to say.

Just now, Julia Yu had sent him a video.

In the video, Lisa Li looked like a vicious supporting character, frantically complaining about Julia Yu to the refined blind date, slandering her in every way.

The video was perfectly clear.

It was nothing like what Lisa Li had described.

Zach Mo realized Lisa Li had gone down the wrong path.

Back then, her coach was a good father at home, but Lisa Li’s mother spoiled her, always worried she’d be wronged because her father wasn’t around, so she tried to give her everything.

But she never taught Lisa Li how to be a decent person.

Later, after what happened to the Li Family, no one corrected Lisa Li’s worldview anymore.

Busy with work himself, he really neglected her upbringing, which led to Lisa Li turning out like this.

Luckily, things didn’t work out with Vice President Song’s nephew—otherwise, it wouldn’t be a marriage, it’d be a feud!

Vice President Song’s nephew is a refined and talented man. If he really married Lisa Li, that would be a disaster.

Seeing how resistant Lisa Li was, Zach Mo felt tired and didn’t want to discipline her anymore.

“If you really don’t want to go on blind dates, then forget it.” Zach Mo interrupted Lisa Li’s complaints and said, “Julia Yu is actually very busy, yet she still makes time to arrange dates for you—she’s been running herself ragged. For now, go wherever you want, I won’t interfere anymore.”

Lisa Li was overjoyed. “Really?”

She only heard the first part, not the rest.

“Mm.” Zach Mo nodded. “Whether you want to keep studying or travel the world, do whatever makes you happy. I’ll make sure your monthly allowance is adjusted to one million. Do whatever you want.”

Lisa Li was so happy she could fly. “Thank you, Zach! I knew you were the best!”

Lisa Li left, flitting away like a butterfly.

As soon as Lisa Li left, Snow Grace knocked and came in. “Mr. Mo, is it really okay to just let her go like that?”

Looking at that face, more and more resembling Cici, Zach Mo’s gaze flickered before he replied, “You saw it yourself. When I tried to rein her in, she wasn’t grateful at all and kept slandering Julia Yu. Julia Yu really did her best for her, picking out great matches for her. But not only did she reject them, she kept ruining everything. So why should I bother anymore? I do have feelings for her father and a sense of responsibility, but that only goes so far. After a while, it’s gone. All I can do is make sure she lives well. As for what path she chooses in the future, that’s up to her.”

A sly smile flashed in Snow Grace’s eyes. She knew Zach Mo would eventually get tired of Lisa Li.

Now, she could finally make her move.

“That’s true. You’re not her father, and you’ve already done plenty for her.” Snow Grace placed a cup of coffee on Zach Mo’s desk. “I just bought these coffee beans—want to try?”

Zach Mo picked up the cup, took a gentle sniff, and his eyes instantly deepened.

That scent was exactly like the one Cici used to grind by hand back then.
