"Avoid it?"
Evan Lin glanced at her, then shook his head. "People avoid me; there's no reason for me to avoid anyone."
"I have zero interest in your grudges, and I don't care about Master Liang at all."
"But if he's really bored and comes looking for trouble, you should be more worried about him than me."
Evan's words were as calm as ever.
To Mia Miao and Leon Yuan, these words felt very different.
Leon Yuan felt more and more that this young man in front of him had the aura of a hidden master straight out of a movie.
He looked like someone who never fought for anything, always calm and unfazed.
He didn't go looking for trouble, but he definitely wasn't afraid when it came knocking.
"If Master Liang really comes after us, I'll handle any trouble that comes up."
Leon Yuan seemed to have made up his mind about something.
He actually looked a bit heroic and self-sacrificing.
In reality, Master Liang has wide connections in the industry and a stellar reputation.
If Leon Yuan really offended him, it could be disastrous for a star who's already lost his popularity.
After all...
No director would risk offending Master Liang just for a faded star.
Especially since Master Liang is famous for his action choreography.
Hearing all this, Evan Lin couldn't be bothered to say anything more.
"Let's find somewhere to sit."
It was Mia Miao who finally broke the awkward silence.
She led Evan Lin and Leon Yuan inside.
"Leon Yuan, long time no see! You look pretty good lately. Let's catch up later when you have time."
"Heard you're planning to take on some new roles again. Work hard, keep it up! If you ever need my help... Oh, sorry, I just spotted someone I know."
Along the way, a few people greeted Leon Yuan briefly, but their attitude was clearly perfunctory.
Especially when Leon Yuan tried to chat with someone, they just turned away and started talking to someone else, completely ignoring him.
Back when Leon Yuan's career was booming, everyone called him 'Brother Liang' left and right.
At the very least, they'd smile and greet him, and conversation was always on equal footing. Now, their attitude was just half-hearted.
"These people are such ingrates!"
Mia Miao muttered angrily, "Back when you were popular, Leon Yuan, you helped them promote their projects all the time."
"Now they walk right past you, say one thing, and disappear. What's their deal?"
"Is this just for show, so everyone thinks they're sentimental and loyal?"
"And that fake smile—who are they trying to disgust with it?"
Mia Miao kept ranting, grinding her teeth, feeling the injustice for Leon Yuan.
"Forget it. They have their own reasons."
Leon Yuan comforted Mia Miao with a self-deprecating smile. "Besides, I'm just a nearly washed-up minor celebrity now."
If they even bother to say a few words to me, that's already giving me face.
At this point, Leon Yuan's eyes were full of sadness.
He sighed, looked at Evan Lin, and quickly adjusted his mood. "There's a lot of cake and desserts here. I'll grab some for you later."
"Do you like sweets? Or is there anything you can't eat?"
Leon Yuan asked carefully.
"Anything's fine."
Evan Lin found a sofa and sat down.
The top floor was a huge hall, with a large section open to the sky outside.
There were plenty of parasols set up, and even a high-altitude swimming pool.
Sitting by the floor-to-ceiling windows, Evan Lin glanced outside. From here, you could see all the towering skyscrapers of Hong Kong Island.
The view was striking: bustling city streets on one side, and run-down slums on the other—a sharp contrast.
"Such a big place, Hong Kong Island... Victor Zhou, where are you hiding?"
Evan Lin pondered silently, not in any rush to go looking for him.
"I'll go grab some food. Mia Miao, stay here with him. If anyone comes looking for trouble, block them for him."
Once Evan Lin was settled, Leon Yuan stood up, ready to fetch some food for him.
After seeing Evan Lin take action several times just now...
Even though she couldn't figure out how this young man managed it, he handled a bunch of security guards and took care of Kevin Zhou in the elevator.
Pulling off all that must have burned a ton of energy.
"Yeah, go ahead. With me here, you don't have to worry."
Mia Miao nodded.
Leon Yuan headed off elsewhere, while Mia Miao stayed with Evan Lin.
"Are you a student?"
Mia Miao looked at Evan Lin and asked.
It was a blunt question, but seeing Evan Lin, he really did look way too young.
"Yeah."
Seeing Evan Lin nod, Mia Miao suddenly didn't know what to say.
After all, the world between her and this young man was just too far apart—there was hardly any common ground.
"This time, I'm planning to get you a shot at the female lead in Director Yu Kaiyuan's film, 'China Kung Fu King.'"
"I've heard about this movie—it's likely to be a box office hit. When it drops next summer, your fame will skyrocket with it."
In the elevator, Wu Yue chatted with Song Ya'er beside him.
He'd originally planned to have the lobby manager kick that kid out, but somehow, all those security guards ended up sprawled on the floor.
Wu Yue, standing at the railing above, had witnessed the whole thing and was totally stunned.
Afterward, he hurried off, grabbed a drink, and downed it to calm his nerves.
That kid was just way too unbelievable.
Luckily, he'd probably never cross paths with that kid again, so even though Wu Yue was annoyed, he couldn't be bothered to dwell on it.
