Unprecedented Blow

2/14/2026

"I'm not looking for him."

Yara Song came back to herself, frowned, and quickly shook her head: "I've already made it clear to him before—there's no way there could ever be any connection or relationship between us."

"I'm a celebrity, and he's just an ordinary person—plus, he's the kind of guy who tries lame tricks to get my attention."

"I run into hundreds of guys like that every year. Why would I ever be hung up on him?"

Yara's face was tinged with a faint, chilly indifference.

After returning to her room, she quickly washed up and changed clothes, her mood completely back to normal.

By now, when she thought about everything that happened today, her impression of that boy was already fading.

"It's best if you think that way."

Victor Wu nodded at her words: "Any one of your suitors, taken alone, is hundreds or thousands of times better than that guy."

"That kid just happens to be decent at fighting, always wearing a sour face—no idea who he's trying to impress."

"If you ask me, that kid's probably just one of those shameless types waiting for a chance to leech off someone else."

"All that aloofness and rebellious attitude he shows? It's just for show. He probably watched too many movies and read too many novels, thinking there are lots of naive girls who'll fall for a guy like that."

Victor Wu looked full of contempt and disdain.

In his eyes, to even qualify as Yara Song's suitor, you had to have money first, then enough poise and presence, and most importantly, you had to be able to help her career.

As for that kid from before, aside from being a little good at fighting, he didn't meet any of those standards.

After all, he was Yara Song's agent.

If Yara's future looked bright, his own days would only get better too.

"Yeah, let's not talk about him. Tell me about the movie instead."

Yara took a deep breath and looked away from the view below.

She really had been looking for that boy just now—not because she had any special feelings for him, but just like Victor said, a guy like that didn't even qualify to have the slightest chance with her.

The only reason Yara was looking for him was pure curiosity—curious if that guy really had the guts to stay in this hotel.

After all, everyone coming and going at Orchid Crown International Hotel in Hong Kong wasn't just some random person.

Normally, without a reservation here, an ordinary person wouldn't even have the face to stick around.

But after searching for a bit, Yara didn't see him anywhere.

She figured that guy really didn't have the guts or the face to stay here after all.

Or maybe he ran off early?

After all, he'd already messed with the Dunn Group people before.

"I've read part of the script for 'China Kung Fu King.' Haven't had time to give it to you yet, but I think the female lead suits you perfectly."

Switching back to work, Victor immediately got serious: "The female lead in this movie is a hidden master living outside the world. After saving the male lead, who's being hunted, she decides to step into the mortal world."

"The female lead's character fits your vibe and persona perfectly. For the next while, I plan to really strengthen this image of yours."

Hearing Victor talk, Yara suddenly frowned: "Why do I feel like there's someone even more suited for the female lead than me?"

"Yeah, you thought of it too, huh?"

Victor was straightforward, nodding: "When the screenwriter wrote the script, the female lead was actually based on Serena Tong."

"Uncontentious, aloof, a true master outside the world—and strong enough to step into the mortal realm. Maybe a woman like Serena Tong really would be willing, for the right man, to stand in front of the public."

Serena Tong.

Hearing that name, Yara couldn't help feeling a wave of emotion.

Over the past few years, Yara had filmed plenty of movies and done tons of events.

By contrast, Serena Tong had only acted in one movie and taken the Angel Epoch endorsement, rarely appearing at any events.

But no matter how hard Yara worked, in everyone else's eyes, she just couldn't measure up to Serena Tong.

It was like the difference between the big joker and the small joker in a deck of cards.

No matter how strong the small joker is, when it faces the big joker, all its black-and-white fades in front of the big card's brilliance.

"Once this movie comes out, people will definitely compare me to Serena Tong. What are you thinking? Haven't I been crushed by her enough already?"

Yara was a little dissatisfied.

She'd always wanted to surpass Serena Tong.

But now, that idea seemed more than a little difficult.

And once the two of them appeared together, there was no doubt that Serena Tong would steal the spotlight from Yara.

"No, my plan is for you to completely overshadow Serena Tong."

Victor shook his head and smiled: "This time, I'm going to find a way to get Serena Tong to play the villainess in the movie."

"That character is written to exude disgust from head to toe. And you, as the positive female lead—once you act opposite Serena Tong in this movie, when it's over, everyone will see you differently."

"As for Serena Tong, the persona she's built up for years will collapse completely and become history. You'll be able to step right over her and take everything that used to belong to her."

Victor's face was full of excitement as he spoke.

He could already picture it: after using this movie to completely flip the relationship between Yara and Serena Tong, his own career would finally hit its true peak.

And besides that, Victor would get massive resources out of it too.

"You're that sure she'll accept?"

Yara frowned: "Serena Tong's the kind who won't budge for anything. Forget making her play the villain—even if you offered her the female lead, if she didn't like the role, no amount of money would make her take it."

"Don't worry about that. This time, it's not up to Serena Tong."

Victor chuckled: "And you know this isn't the mainland—it's Hong Kong."

"Hong Kong—that's Lee Family territory."

"If Serena Tong has even a shred of conscience, she won't refuse whatever terms the Lee Family offers."

At this point, Victor looked completely self-assured.

"Of course, if she really doesn't agree, that's fine too. As long as I throw this matter to the reporters waiting outside, once their stories go public, it'll still deal an unprecedented blow to Serena Tong's persona."

"What exactly is it?" Yara asked, full of curiosity.

"You'll find out soon enough," Victor said with a smile.

Perfect timing.

The elevator reached the top floor.
