Pretty Boys

Sherry Yuan nodded. "Okay."

After speaking, he decisively led Mason Ming away.

Mason Ming wanted to ask Sherry Yuan a few questions, but as soon as he met Sherry's cold, frosty gaze, he couldn't get a single word out.

Mason Ming felt like he wasn't facing a person, but a machine.

Even Bluey, the household robot at Yina Yin's home, seemed to have more personality than Sherry.

After sending Mason Ming off, Yina Yin let out a long sigh and resigned herself to returning to the company to tackle the mountain of paperwork.

She didn't know if Ethan Yin was deliberately giving her extra work, but even documents that needed the CEO's signature were piled up on Yina's desk.

Yina Yin was driven crazy. "Ahhh! Aren't these supposed to go to my brother? Why are they all coming to me too?"

The secretaries replied innocently, "The CEO specifically told us to bring these to you!"

Yina Yin was furious.

Fine! Ethan Yin!

You're messing with me!

You really think I can't stop you from catching up to Cherry?

Yina Yin cursed her own brother three hundred times in her heart, then resigned herself to signing, signing, and signing.

So, Yina Yin was tortured until eight in the evening before she was finally freed from the office.

Back at her apartment on Shunjiang Road, Yina Yin gulped down the water Bluey had brought over and finally felt alive again.

Yina Yin deeply suspected her brother was getting back at her.

As for why he was taking revenge...

That was a question worth thinking about.

It couldn't be because Mason Ming next door made him jealous, right??

Just as Yina Yin was mulling over this question, she heard laughter coming from next door. It wasn’t very clear, but it sounded like a few boys chatting loudly.

A moment later, someone knocked on the door.

Yina Yin went to open it and found Mason Ming standing outside, looking shy. He said, "Miss Yin, were we too loud and disturbed you? I'm really sorry!"

"It's fine. The soundproofing here is just so-so," Yina Yin nodded, not making a fuss.

Mason Ming added, "They're my colleagues from the company. They heard what happened today and came to check on me. Jay Kee just wrote a new song and wants me to rehearse for next month's album release. If we're bothering you, we can move somewhere else."

"No worries, go ahead and rehearse," Yina Yin replied casually. "Just make sure the other neighbors don’t complain."

Mason Ming chatted a bit more before finally saying goodbye and leaving.

As soon as Mason Ming returned, a sunny-looking boy grabbed his arm and asked, "Who’s that next door? She’s gorgeous! And the watch on her wrist looks expensive!"

"Stop poking around," Mason Ming frowned. He knew exactly what his friend was thinking.

In the entertainment world, almost nobody wants to take the long way to success.

"How am I being nosy? I'm just asking casually." The boy grinned. "Anyone who lives here must be rich or important, right?"

"Jay Kee, that's enough. Stop talking," another boy interrupted him. "We need to hurry up and rehearse! Mason Ming hasn't had time to come to the company these days, so we can only squeeze in practice here."

The boy called Jay Kee finally let go of Mason Ming's arm, though he was clearly reluctant.

Mason Ming thought the matter was settled, but from that day on, Jay Kee started dropping by whenever he could. Ostensibly, he was there to practice singing with Mason, but his eyes and ears were always tuned to the activity next door.

One day, when the servant next door was delivering fresh vegetables and fruit, Jay Kee darted out and greeted the delivery person: "Hey, do you live here? I'm from next door—we're neighbors!"

The delivery person smiled and replied, "I don't live here. I just deliver things."

"So who does live here?" Jay Kee asked.

"Our young lady," the delivery person replied, then carried the goods inside.

Jay Kee stood on tiptoe for a long time, trying to catch a glimpse of someone inside, but finally gave up, disappointed.

Young lady?
