Everyone's mind went blank.

All eyes landed on Leo Li, who was lying on the floor, twitching all over with his eyes rolled back, looking for all the world like he was possessed.

"Damn!"

The man with the knife cursed, took half a step back, and looked at Leo Li twitching on the ground, raising his eyebrow. "What the hell? Is this guy rabid or something?"

He lowered his head, clearly annoyed by Leo Li's constant twitching. As his gaze swept over the scene, he spotted a foul-smelling puddle not far away on the floor and immediately shouted at two nearby Capitalview University guys: "You two, get over here!"

At his shout, the two boys nervously stepped forward.

"Pick up that guy on the ground and shove his head into that nasty mess! Damn it, let's see if he's really crazy or just faking it!"

The man kept cursing, and the two Capitalview University students hesitated for a long time. But after one glare from the man, they had no choice but to step forward, just about to crouch down and lift Leo Li.

Just as the two reached out, Leo Li—who'd been putting on a crazy act—suddenly sprang up, dashed off like lightning, and bolted for the back door.

"Screw you! Still faking sick here?"

The man cursed when he saw this, grabbed a beer bottle, and smashed it over Leo Li, knocking him to the ground and making him shiver in pain.

Chase Chen saw this and immediately rushed forward, kicking Leo over and over until he howled in pain—his swagger was completely gone.

The Capitalview University students went silent, not daring to make a sound. The man glared around the room, cursing, "If anyone here still isn’t convinced, stand up now! You dare hit one of my boys? Trying to get yourselves killed?"

As soon as he finished, his gaze shifted. Chase, having vented his anger and with his boss backing him up, swaggered over to Claire Li’s table.

"Claire, drink with me tonight, yeah? Your school’s little wimps don’t know what’s good for them—do they really think they’re hot stuff?" Chase rubbed his face, grinning as he walked over.

He didn’t forget to suck up to his boss, flashing a fawning smile: "Boss, there’s a few chicks here—I know you like them young. These girls are still in high school! All of them are smoking hot!"

The man licked his lips and walked forward.

Victor Wen’s face changed. He stood up and shielded Claire Li: "Chase, this whole mess started with Leo Li showing off. It’s got nothing to do with us. Can’t you let it slide?"

"Who the hell are you? Get lost!" Chase’s face darkened as he cursed him out.

Chase’s gang members glared menacingly. Victor Wen’s face turned pale, and even Leo Liu’s usually cool expression looked grim. He wanted to step forward, but the boss was already heading their way, his eyes instantly locking onto Ivy Liang and Wendy Wen.

"These two girls look lively. They’re coming with me tonight," the boss declared arrogantly.

Claire Li was tangled up with Chase, while Yolanda Jiang glared angrily and slammed her hand on the table, trying to stand up. But the thugs, all pumped up, shoved her back into her seat.

"If you don’t leave right now, I’m calling the police! I’m an intern reporter from Capitalview TV Station!" Stella Huang stood up, revealing her identity, hoping to intimidate them.

Irene Xu and Lana Yu tried to tug Stella back down, but it was too late. When the boss turned to look, their faces instantly went pale.

"What’s this, a reporter? I’ve never played with a reporter before—tonight’s my lucky night!" The man wasn’t scared at all; he just looked thrilled.

He took a few steps forward, but suddenly saw a chair blocking his way to Stella. In the chair sat a thin boy, leaning back, not drinking, acting like none of this had anything to do with him.

The figure looked a bit skinny—and strangely familiar, making the boss pause and rack his brain.

"Are you blind, kid? Didn’t you see my boss wants to come through? Move it!" Chase’s face changed as he yelled at Evan Lin.

Everyone’s eyes turned to Evan Lin.

Everyone here knew Evan could fight, but with so many thugs, it was anyone’s guess who’d win if things got messy.

"You talking to me?"

Evan slowly turned his head, giving Chase a cold, indifferent look.

Chase felt a chill run down his spine—the coldness in Evan’s eyes made his heart race with fear.

Meanwhile, the boss, who’d been about to step forward, froze in place. The moment he saw Evan’s profile and heard his voice, it was like a jolt of electricity—he remembered that night!

"Of course I’m talking to you! Who else, a ghost? If you don’t move, I’ll—" Chase snapped, embarrassed that a look almost scared him, his voice fierce but his bravado clearly fake.

Before he could finish, the boss spun around and slapped him hard across the face.

"Boss!" Chase spun 180 degrees from the slap, crashed to the floor, coughed up blood, and stared in shock at the boss who’d suddenly turned on him.

"Who told you to talk? Say another word and I’ll break your damn legs!" the boss roared, stunning everyone.

But what really blew everyone’s minds was that after slapping Chase, the boss immediately turned, bent at the waist, and bowed to Evan, saying in a low, respectful voice, "Sorry, sorry, I didn’t know you were here, sir! I was out of line—please forgive me!"

The boss’s sudden apology left everyone stunned.

Stella, Ivy, and the others all stared at Evan Lin. Yolanda Jiang looked shocked, even the usually icy-faced Ivy Liang showed a hint of surprise. Leo Liu’s face was grim, while Claire Li’s eyes sparkled with admiration.

The Capitalview University students were so stunned, none of them could say a word.

"You know me?"

Evan glanced curiously at the man, but didn’t recognize him.

"A few nights ago, I followed Boss Grizzly to Peiying High, and outside the school, I was lucky enough to get slapped by you…"

The boss wore a humble smile.

Lucky enough to get slapped?

Why did that sound like he was actually proud of it?

But the most important thing was the name he’d just dropped—Boss Grizzly!
