On Leo Li's side, with him leading as student council president—and with almost every guy here having brought a date tonight—
Being called a sissy right to their faces—no normal guy could take that. With Leo Li, the student council president, taking the lead, the Capitalview University guys immediately started shouting and charged forward.
No hero can stand against a pack of wolves. Even though Chase Chen and his crew were used to fighting, and could win one-on-one most of the time, the other side had sheer numbers. In no time, Chase and his friends were knocked to the ground, getting beaten so badly they were crying for their moms.
“That’s what you get for trying to act tough!” Leo Li cursed, stepped up, and kicked out one of Chase Chen’s teeth.
Chase Chen was left with a bruised face, looking totally miserable, begging for mercy over and over.
“Wow! The president is so cool!”
“That kick was so satisfying!”
The girls around started talking all at once. Leo Li tossed his head confidently, showing off a proud smile and feeling totally cool inside. He walked up, patted Chase Chen on the face, and said, "Now take your people and get lost! This bar is mine tonight—got it?"
"Get lost!"
Leo Li shouted angrily, and Chase Chen’s group scrambled away as fast as they could.
But Leo Li had no idea—he was riding high, feeling like he’d finally scored some real face and respect.
You’ve got about twenty seconds left to act tough. After this, your chance is gone—so make the most of those twenty seconds.
Evan Lin leaned back in his chair, a faint smile on his lips. He could already hear the chaotic footsteps rushing toward the bar from outside.
There were a lot of them, and they sounded pretty pissed off.
“What are you talking about? Twenty seconds?” Leo Li frowned. “Don’t tell me you think Chase Chen would dare come back?”
If you really think he’d dare come back, you’re dead wrong. Even if he does, I’ll just beat him down again! I’ll show him who’s boss!
Leo Li, full of bravado, downed a big glass of beer.
He’d barely set his glass down when—bang! This time, the entire bar door was kicked in from the outside.
Who the hell touched my little brother?!
A burly guy strode in, wearing just a simple black sleeveless shirt. He scanned the room with a fierce glare, his voice gruff and intimidating.
Next to him, Chase Chen stood there looking like a beaten pig, stepped forward, pointed at Leo Li, and yelled, “It’s him!”
Boss, he’s the one who hit me!
Seeing them come in, Leo Li tossed his glass aside, snorted, and gave Stella Huang a small smile. “Don’t worry, Stella. With me here, nobody can hurt you!”
Then he strode forward, shouting, “Chase Chen! Didn’t you learn your lesson from that beating? Back already for another round? You must be itching for it!”
Men of Capitalview University, stand up!
Leo Li roared, and the guys who’d just shown off in front of their dates all looked eager and quickly stepped up.
There were so many of them, they figured they couldn’t lose—and hey, it was another chance to act tough, so why not?
Seeing the crowd stand up, Leo Li felt confident. “Chase Chen, bringing your boss won’t help—you’re up against dozens of us!”
Chase Chen and that guy only had three or four people behind them, so Leo Li felt even less intimidated.
But before he could finish, the man in front just gave a cold smile. “Think you’ve got the numbers, huh? All of you, get in here!”
As soon as he finished, forty or fifty thugs flooded in through the smashed bar door, all looking fierce and carrying steel pipes and short knives. The whole scene was intimidating as hell.
The Capitalview University guys, who’d just been riding high, suddenly started shaking in their boots; their faces went pale and they all subconsciously stepped back.
The smile vanished from Leo Li’s face—he realized all those guys who’d been holding their heads high were now hanging them, shrinking back and losing all their bravado.
“You… you brought weapons? That’s against the street rules!” Leo Li tried to sound calm, but his voice was shaking and he could barely stand.
Picking on the weak is fine, but going head-to-head with real muscle? No way.
Bang!
A gleaming knife suddenly landed on the floor right in front of Leo Li, making his legs go weak—he nearly collapsed.
Street rules, huh? Here’s a knife—let’s duel! Loser chops off a hand. How’s that for street rules?” The thug leader, looking fierce, strode toward Leo Li with a menacing glare.
We’re screwed!
Everyone watched as the guy got closer and closer to Leo Li, feeling a chill run down their spines.
Stella Huang and the others looked anxious.
Evan Lin didn’t even bother to look over, his back turned to the chaos.
Honestly, if you act like a big shot, you’re just asking to get slapped down.
You could say Leo Li was just too soft.
Leo Li’s mind raced. Suddenly, a lightbulb went off—just as the thug came up to him, he squeezed his eyes shut, went limp, collapsed at the guy’s feet, and started twitching and making weird noises.
Playing crazy to get out of trouble!
