Evan didn’t respond, his gaze cool and indifferent.

Brother Snake kept cranking out pull-ups, the fan blasting as white mist curled around him.

It was just his sweat, evaporating instantly from the heat.

After five more pull-ups, Brother Snake suddenly let go.

He dropped from the bar, landing with a heavy thud.

For a second, it felt like the whole floor shook under his feet.

Bang!

Brother Snake wiped his face, grabbed a bottle of water, twisted off the cap, and chugged the whole thing in one go, Adam’s apple bobbing.

"Heh, sorry to keep you waiting."

He tossed the empty bottle aside and strode over.

He had to be at least 1.9 meters tall, all muscle and snake tattoos—he looked like a walking mountain.

Brother Snake yanked out a chair, dropped into it, picked up a folding knife from the desk and toyed with it, then finally looked up, eyeing Evan with amused interest.
