Seventy-Twofold

"Leopard?" The people who were about to follow the bet froze.

"Holy crap, are you nuts?! Who just throws down on a leopard!" Someone snapped back, eyeing Evan Lin warily. "Is this kid a shill for the house?"

"I think so too. Who walks in and hits three big bets, then calls a leopard right after? And that fat guy—he's definitely bad news." The skinny man who'd just lost everything pointed at Big Tank.

Big Tank's face darkened. "You can call me fat, but why the hell do you gotta add 'dead'? That's the one word I can't stand!"

As he spoke, Big Tank moved to start a fight, but catching Evan Lin out of the corner of his eye, he held back, hesitated a couple seconds, then gritted his teeth and tossed all his chips onto the triple sixes—leopard—spot.

"I don't buy it. Let's all watch—if this kid's a shill, there's no way he'll win this round!" The skinny guy kept pushing; he'd already lost everything, so he just kept mouthing off.

"Yeah, I think so too. How could anyone hit three bigs, then land a leopard right after?" someone chimed in.

"Hey, gorgeous, open the cup!"

"Yeah, hurry up!"

Everyone's eyes locked onto the beautiful dealer's table.

The beautiful dealer's face went pale, her hand trembling as she lifted the lid and revealed the three dice.

For a second, the crowd was silent.

"Six-six-six! Leopard!"

Someone shouted in surprise.

"Holy crap! Is this for real? I'm kicking myself—if I'd known, I'd have followed that bet!" Someone smacked their own head, wishing they could slap themselves.

"Leopard pays five times! Damn!"

When the dealer handed over 120 purple chips, her hands were still shaking.

"Damn! We're rich!" Big Tank's eyes sparkled, his grin stretching ear to ear.

"Keep going! This time I'm definitely following your bet!" Someone looked at Evan Lin, face flushed with excitement. "Bro, let me get rich with you—when we're done, I'll treat you to a deluxe massage!"

"Yeah, yeah! Gorgeous, hurry up, start the next round!"

The crowd urged her on, and the skinny man snapped out of it, dug into his pants, and pulled out a gold chain. "This chain's worth thirty grand! I'm in! I'm in!"

Evan Lin was expressionless; everything that just happened seemed trivial to him.

"Can we start the next round?" Evan Lin asked the beautiful dealer, his tone steady.

"Sorry, please wait a moment—I need to use the restroom." The beautiful dealer gave an apologetic smile, then quickly left the table, heading toward the security door.

She walked up to a man in a suit, said something to him, and he frowned, glanced at Evan Lin and Big Tank, then nodded and headed deeper inside.

"Holy crap! Why isn't anyone coming over? Hurry up!"

"Yeah! Someone get over here! I wanna gamble!"

The men around the table kept shouting, all eyes on Evan Lin, hoping the beautiful dealer would hurry back so they could follow his bets and make money.

"Master, should we leave now? They're probably calling for backup." Big Tank leaned in close to Evan Lin and asked in a low voice.

Right now, Big Tank was completely convinced by Evan Lin.

With skills like that, you could be a millionaire in minutes!

Big Tank hugged the stack of 120 purple chips, but he kept his head clear. Spotting the man in the suit heading quickly to the back, he instantly caught on and quietly warned Evan Lin.

"We haven't collected the debt yet. No rush."

Evan Lin shook his head and walked over to another table.

This table was playing Nine-and-a-Half.

Evan Lin stood nearby, saying nothing at first, just watching a few rounds.

The crowd from the previous table had followed him over; one by one, they stared at Evan Lin, waiting for him to speak.

"Cards dealt: banker shows eight, player shows a face card. Please place your bets."

The beautiful dealer finished dealing and smiled at the crowd.

"Player."

Evan Lin uttered two words. Big Tank's heart skipped a beat, and he asked cautiously, "How much?"

"All of it."

Big Tank's heart leapt—he knew Nine-and-a-Half wasn't like dice; with cards, luck mattered more than skill.

But Big Tank gritted his teeth anyway and put the whole stack of purple chips on the player side.

"Whoa! That's a ton—must be over a million!"

The people sitting nearby were all shocked by the scene.

But soon enough—

"I'm in too! Thirty thousand—player!"

"Fifty thousand on player!"

"Big gold chain! Worth thirty thousand! I'm betting on player!"

......

In less than ten seconds, the player area was packed with chips of every color.

The beautiful dealer was momentarily stunned, then revealed the cards.

Two nines appeared.

Banker had eight and nine—totaling seven points.

Player had a face card and a nine—totaling Nine-and-a-Half, double payout!

"We made money!"

"Holy crap! I won too! Got some of my money back!"

The skinny man who'd just lost his shirt at the dice table was now crying tears of joy.

Big Tank's face turned red, his heart racing: "Did I just make 2.4 million on this round?"

Big Tank wasn't sure.

But feeling the jealous stares around him, Big Tank finally realized—this wasn't a dream!

Three point six million!

In less than half an hour, fifty thousand had turned into three point six million!

Seventy-two times the original amount!

"Damn! We're loaded!" Big Tank was so excited his voice shook.

But seeing Evan Lin's calm face, Big Tank was startled and quickly shut up.

"Hello, gentlemen. Brother Snake would like to see you."

At that moment, three burly men in black walked over from nearby. Tattoos snaked up their arms as they strode through the crowd, faces grim as they looked at Evan Lin and Big Tank.

"Holy crap, they've won too much—caught Brother Snake's eye! No way they're leaving with all that cash today." The men who'd just been crowding around Evan Lin and Big Tank instantly scattered, putting distance between themselves and the pair.

Their eyes held a trace of sympathy for Evan Lin and Big Tank.

So what if you're a gambling genius?

In someone else's casino, win too much and you get robbed.

"No rush. Let her finish counting the chips."

Evan Lin spoke in a flat tone, watching the dealer, completely unfazed by the three men closing in.
