The Secret of the Tiger-Elephant Beasts 2

1/19/2026

Dozens of golden lightning bolts shot toward Evan Chu at once. This time, instead of burrowing into the earth with Earthshift, he layered his body in earth-stone armor and wrapped himself in a powerful Chaos Immortal Force barrier.

At the same instant, the Frostbane Sword in his hand unleashed a devastating Star-Cleave. With his current attack power, Evan felt Star-Cleave was more than enough to kill these beasts—unless absolutely necessary, he wasn't going to use Divine Cleave.

The golden lightning struck Evan Chu, crackling and snapping across his body. He felt a wave of numbing pain, but it wasn't a big deal—compared to Ascension Tribulation lightning, this was nothing; the difference was like night and day.

All the lightning was absorbed into the Element Core Pearl next to his dantian. Right now, he could still see the colors of each elemental segment, and the purple thunder segment had clearly deepened.

Seeing this, he was wildly ecstatic—he hadn’t expected the Tiger-Elephant Beasts’ lightning could be directly absorbed and converted into his own thunder power. This was a rare opportunity! After using Star-Cleave, he was already starting to regret it.

He realized these Tiger-Elephant Beasts could be treated as a living energy source to boost his thunder element—every one he killed was one less resource. An idea formed in his mind: he’d use the Tiger-Elephant Beasts to strengthen his Thundershift and see if he could push it to the second layer.

With that Star-Cleave, Evan Chu instantly killed a mid-stage Immortal Emperor Tiger-Elephant Beast and seriously wounded two more. This only enraged the herd further; one after another, the Tiger-Elephant Beasts let out earth-shaking roars and gradually reverted to their true forms.

Their true forms had even greater defense and attack power, though their sheer size made them a bit clumsy. At that moment, all the Tiger-Elephant Beasts took to the sky, their massive flesh wings beating nonstop.

If you counted carefully, a single Tiger-Elephant Beast could flap its wings over ten thousand times in one breath. That speed was insane—otherwise, there’s no way they could move such massive bodies or rival the speed of Golden-Winged Rocs.

Evan Chu’s figure flickered as he flew into the air, even standing on the back of one Tiger-Elephant Beast. “Go ahead, show me everything you’ve got. Besides sonic attacks and lightning, you Tiger-Elephant Beasts don’t have much else. Honestly, your lightning is way too weak—it’s a disappointment.”

The Tiger-Elephant Beasts’ deadliest attack was their lightning. Their golden bolts weren’t ordinary—they could paralyze your whole body in an instant, and once you were paralyzed, everyone knew what came next.

Besides the paralysis, those golden bolts packed serious destructive power. Evan Chu was just too heaven-defying—Chaos Immortal Force barrier, earth-stone armor, the works. But that last strike still shattered all his defenses; only a small amount of golden lightning actually hit him, so he came out completely unharmed.

Without those protections, who knows what shape he’d be in right now. And his taunting words only stoked the herd’s fury—especially their leader, the Tiger-Elephant Beast King, who was absolutely livid.

“Everyone, unleash your strongest lightning! Let this lowly human witness the true power of my Tiger-Elephant Clan—and avenge our fallen kin!” the Tiger-Elephant Beast King roared.

Evan Chu instantly sensed a strange, oppressive aura filling the air—a powerful, death-laced tension that made him instinctively wary. This attack was sure to be earth-shattering, maybe even fatal.

He immediately covered himself in earth-stone armor and raised a Chaos Immortal Force barrier, but didn’t prepare to attack. This lightning was too precious to waste—light and darkness elements might be special, but for pure offense, nothing beat lightning.

If absorbing more lightning could strengthen his own power, he was willing to risk it. Just then, the Tiger-Elephant Beasts in the air let out piercing roars that made Evan’s eardrums ache—if not for his barrier, his eardrums would’ve been blown out right there.

Suddenly, dozens of dazzling golden beams lit up the sky, unleashing a crushing pressure. The beams fused into four gigantic golden lightning pillars, blasting toward Evan Chu from all four directions.

Evan felt a little frustrated—he hadn’t expected these Tiger-Elephant Beasts to pull off a combo lightning attack. Now it was too late for Star-Cleave; all he could do was whirl the Frostbane Sword around him, forming layers of sword-flowers to barely hold back the four massive bolts.

The golden lightning crashed into his Chaos Immortal Force barrier, instantly shattering it. Then it slammed into his earth-stone armor, breaking that too, and finally landed directly on Evan Chu himself.

Agonizing pain shot through Evan Chu from all four directions, his entire body instantly going numb. The power was on par with the strongest waves of Ascension Tribulation lightning—he couldn’t move at all. Even though the Element Core Pearl inside him was frantically absorbing the lightning, it just couldn’t keep up.

Evan Chu crashed to the ground, smashing out a massive crater. The Tiger-Elephant Beasts in the sky immediately launched another golden lightning barrage, targeting the pit where he’d landed.

He was hit again, and this time the crater was blasted even deeper, cracks spreading across the ground for several li, toppling countless towering trees.

Even though Evan couldn’t move, he could still use Earthshift. He immediately merged his body into the earth, so even if they attacked again, he’d be safe. Once hidden in the soil, the earth absorbed most of the lightning, leaving only a tiny amount to reach him.

“I really overdid it this time. Hope all this helps my Thundershift—otherwise, I’m taking a major loss,” Evan grumbled, frustrated.

His skin had split open in dozens of places, golden blood slowly oozing out, but before long the wounds healed. Still, the scent of his blood lingered in the air.

Meanwhile, the Tiger-Elephant Beasts in the sky had all shifted into human form, standing around the edge of the huge crater, peering inside. Evan Chu was nowhere to be seen, leaving them puzzled.

“Where’d that human go? Did our lightning blast him to dust?” one of them wondered.

“Not that simple. He’s got stealth skills, but there’s no energy fluctuation—looks like he’s really not in the crater. Maybe he escaped. If he managed to slip away right under our noses, that’s something,” another said.

“Enough chatter—I’m picking up the scent of Dragon Clan blood. Is a Dragon Clan powerhouse heading our way? Everyone, stay alert!” the Tiger-Elephant Beast King ordered…
