Phoenix Clan and Dragon Clan Stirred

Evan Chu had no time to spare for the Tiger-Elephant Beasts on the ground. Right now, he was madly absorbing the lightning surging through his body. This golden lightning was simply too domineering—after enduring two consecutive attacks, he felt as if his whole body was about to fall apart.

As time passed, the lightning force in his body gradually diminished, and the numbness faded away. Now he could move freely, but he didn’t rush to emerge just yet.

The Element Core Pearl within him spun slowly, its purple lightning segment growing noticeably deeper. If he endured two more barrages, he was sure he could push his thunder element high enough to cultivate the second layer of Thundershift—but the process was agonizing and dangerously risky.

"Master, there’s no need to do this. Every Tiger-Elephant Beast carries a Storm Pearl packed with powerful lightning—maybe only you can absorb it. Your beast followers probably can’t handle the energy inside those pearls; this lightning isn’t something they can withstand. Didn’t you hear them call the pearls ‘thunder pills’?" the Emerald Immortal Empress interjected.

"So you mean I should just slaughter these guys, grab their beast cores, and leave?" Evan Chu asked, still half-tempted to endure another round of their lightning for training.

"Exactly. The longer you stay, the worse it is for you. Godfall Valley isn’t just home to Tiger-Elephant Beasts—there are plenty of Immortal Beasts even stronger than them. If you attract something bigger, you might not be able to leave at all," the Emerald Immortal Empress warned.

Evan Chu admitted she made sense. The Emerald Immortal Empress was shrewd and far more experienced than him, able to see things from every angle. He decided to listen to her advice.

By now, his injuries were mostly healed. Evan Chu flashed out from underground, appearing on the surface. The Tiger-Elephant Beasts, seeing him reappear, were all shocked and let out another round of furious roars.

"Kid, you’re really hard to kill! Why do you have Dragon Clan aura on you? Who exactly are you? If you don’t tell the truth, I’ll annihilate your body and soul today!" the Tiger-Elephant Beast King snarled.

Evan Chu burst out laughing, "Annihilate my body and soul? Wasn’t that your strongest attack just now? Look at me—still perfectly fine! Your lightning is way too weak. I’ve been absorbing it for ages and barely got any results; it’s your Storm Pearls I’m after."

Cut the crap and hand over your Storm Pearls—maybe I’ll let you live. Otherwise, every last one of you dies here today!

"Kid, you’re way too arrogant! Even Dragon Clan experts wouldn’t dare say such things. If we hand over our Storm Pearls, we’re as good as dead anyway—there’s no difference from you killing us outright. You’ve gone too far! Today you’ll see what we’re really made of!" the Tiger-Elephant Beast King roared.

"You call yourselves people? Beasts are always just beasts. Looks like you’re terrified of the Dragon Clan, huh? Did they wipe you out once, so now you’re scared of them deep down?" Evan Chu pressed. Earlier, when he was under the crater, he’d heard someone warn the herd about sensing Dragon Clan aura.

That Dragon Clan aura was, of course, from his own blood. "The Dragon Clan may be the strongest Immortal Beast lineage, but my Tiger-Elephant Clan isn’t afraid of them. Sure, dragon bodies are powerful, but they’re most vulnerable to our golden lightning! Honestly, my Tiger-Elephant Clan are the real overlords of the Immortal Realm.

It’s just that our fertility is low, so we can’t reproduce in large numbers. Otherwise, the Tiger-Elephant Clan would rule all Immortal Beasts. We’re born as natural enemies to the Dragon Clan—whenever we meet, we join forces to kill them.

Dragons do the same when they see us. But since their numbers are huge, we have to stay far away from Dragon Clan territory. Why are you asking all this, kid? Don’t tell me you have some connection to the Dragon Clan?" the Tiger-Elephant Beast King demanded.

Evan Chu laughed, "You really are dumb—telling me all this yourself. There shouldn’t be any Dragon Clan in Godfall Valley, right? Dragons only show up in the Immortal Realm’s beast territories."

"Kid, are you trying to mess with the Dragon Clan too? There are dragons in Godfall Valley, and even the Phoenix Clan is here. There aren’t many of them, but they’re more than enough to deal with you! Enough talk—now you die! Everyone, attack!" the Tiger-Elephant Beast King roared.

Dozens of golden lightning bolts blasted toward Evan Chu again, but this time he had no intention of just sitting there. With a thought, he teleported away, dodging the Tiger-Elephant Beasts’ attacks in a flash.

To kill these Tiger-Elephant Beasts, he’d need far stronger attacks. If he used Divine Cleave, he’d probably wipe them out completely—and then he wouldn’t get their beast cores. Evan Chu didn’t want that.

The best strategy now was to use Unicorn Arm together with Star-Cleave. With his breakthrough, his attack power was even greater than before. Evan Chu was sure this combo rivaled his old Divine Cleave.

The Frostbane Divine Sword in his hand trembled violently as Chaos Immortal Force surged through his arm. In an instant, a devastating attack burst from the blade, slashing toward the Tiger-Elephant Beasts on the ground.

This strike was earth-shattering, changing the very color of heaven and earth. A wave of destructive power shot toward the Tiger-Elephant Beasts at impossible speed. Countless energy storms erupted through the air, spreading wildly across the region.

The spatial shockwaves carried for thousands of li. In a canyon far away, a massive golden dragon lay resting with eyes closed, but suddenly felt the ground quake beneath him, jolting him awake.

A thunderous dragon roar burst from his mouth, and dozens of figures appeared before him. "What’s going on? How could Godfall Valley see such terrifying power? Even I, the monarch, couldn’t unleash such an attack. Could someone from the God Realm have arrived?"

"Your Majesty, should we investigate? This is a bad sign—we need to be on guard." said an old man, his whole body pitch-black—a true Ancient Black Dragon.

Elsewhere, in a grove of phoenix-linked parasol trees, a flame-robed middle-aged Phoenix Clan man gazed into the distance in shock. "Such overwhelming power! I never expected a powerhouse like this to appear in Godfall Valley. It must be a human—no Immortal Beast has attacks this strong. We’d better be careful."

As he finished speaking, several more people appeared beside him, two of them stunningly beautiful women. "Your Majesty, should we go check it out? If there’s real danger, we should be prepared."

"Go quickly and return quickly, but don’t stir up trouble. The Immortal-Beast War is only two hundred years away. If the beast armies conquer the Immortal Realm, our chance to leave will come soon enough," said the flame-robed Phoenix Clan leader.
