Someone from the Lee Family Wants to Meet You

2/14/2026

Shawn Zhang thought about this, and the more he did, the more satisfied he felt.

Especially when he stood in front of that kid just now and spoke to him, Lin Yi acted like he couldn’t care less, which made Shawn feel particularly stifled.

Shawn Zhang was right in the middle of his career’s rise.

He had tons of female fans, and a fair number of male fans too.

Plus, he figured his strikingly handsome face was pretty recognizable.

When he stood in front of Lin Yi earlier, Shawn didn’t even introduce himself—he expected that kid to get excited and grateful just seeing him. Shawn had even gotten ready to pull out a pen and sign Lin Yi’s shirt.

But to his surprise, that kid never even brought it up from start to finish.

Instead, when Shawn was talking, he couldn’t sense any respect from that kid, nor see any surprise in his eyes.

In the end, it seemed like Shawn Zhang was just another random passerby.

“I need to think about this a bit more.”

Yara Song heard Victor Wu’s words, nodded, then glanced at Shawn Zhang standing nearby and smiled: “And now Shawn’s popularity is so high, I’m worried that if I hype a romance with him, his fans will curse me to death.”

“Besides, I’m a little worried that because of me, Shawn’s standing in his fans’ eyes might drop.”

Yara’s tone was half-joking as she shifted her gaze away from Lin Yi, deciding then and there to draw a clear line between herself and the guy stubbornly sitting on the lobby sofa, acting like he was really waiting for Serena Tong to show up.

She felt that having Victor Wu step in to help Lin Yi out earlier was already giving him enough face and kindness. As for any conflict between Lin Yi and the Dunn Group, that was something Yara had no intention of getting involved in.

Even if she felt a bit guilty toward Lin Yi, she had no intention of making up for it.

After all, the Dunn Group was not something a single Yara Song could take on.

Yara wasn’t the type to give up everything just for a bit of kindness or guilt. Deep down, she weighed Lin Yi’s value.

He seemed to have some fighting skill, but his family background probably wasn’t much.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been stopped at the hotel entrance and gotten into such an awkward situation. Plus, he could’ve just booked a room himself instead of waiting in the lobby.

So Yara concluded that the kid was probably just broke—he saw the room prices here were too high and had no choice but to wait in the lobby.

What Yara didn’t know was that even if Lin Yi wanted to book a room, there weren’t any available right now.

All sorts of random thoughts flashed through Yara’s mind, but she quickly adjusted her mood and tossed Lin Yi out of her head—just another one-off passerby.

Even if he got thrown into the sea by the Dunn Group, in the end it still had nothing to do with her.

Maybe someday, when Yara was old and reminiscing about the past, she’d vaguely remember there was such a person?

Yara shook her head, feeling a bit sorry for Lin Yi deep down, but she wasn’t planning to do anything more—leave it at that.

“Haha, Yara, saying that makes you sound like a stranger.”

Shawn Zhang laughed: “Everyone knows your fans are hardcore, and most of them are guys. There are tons who go on about working hard, becoming CEOs, and marrying you.”

“Honestly, the real pressure is on me. If I get caught in a romance scandal with their goddess, I’ll become public enemy number one.”

“As for you worrying about my fans, there’s really no need. If necessary, I can step up, chat with them, talk about how great you are. I’m sure they’ll gradually accept it.”

“Besides, this is the perfect time to hype things up. It’ll be good for both of us.”

As Shawn Zhang spoke, he quietly edged closer to Yara Song.

Yara smiled, seeing right through Shawn’s little move. She didn’t call him out or act resistant—instead, she nodded.

“By the way, there’s a party on the top floor later. Want to go check it out together?”

Shawn remembered something and looked at Yara: “Perfect chance for everyone to chat, and here we don’t have to worry about reporters.”

“Sure, I’ll go change and head over.”

Yara didn’t refuse, nodded, and then they parted ways.

“Alright, I’ll go find my friends first.” Shawn nodded.

Victor Wu and Yara took the same elevator, while Shawn went the other way.

The hotel’s elevator was a fully transparent sightseeing elevator.

As the elevator rose, Yara couldn’t help herself—she lowered her head and glanced at the lobby sofa.

On the sofa, Evan Lin sat alone, calm as ever—like nothing in this noisy world could faze him.

Even from upstairs, you could tell he wasn't just some random guy—there was something different about him, something you couldn't quite put your finger on.

Maybe it was his aura? Or maybe he just had that "don't mess with me" energy.

Yara Song frowned, feeling a strange vibe she couldn't really describe.

"Should I just call that lobby manager from earlier and have him come in to kick this guy out? Seriously, he's got guts showing up like this."

Victor Wu followed Yara's gaze, shot Evan a cold look, and muttered, "This guy really doesn't know how to read the room."

"Nah, leave it. No point making things messier."

Yara shook her head. "He'll sit there for a bit, realize I'm not coming, and probably just head out on his own."

"Let's hope he gets the hint."

Victor shrugged. "Honestly, if this kid hadn't pissed off the Dunn Group and basically signed his own death warrant, he'd actually make a pretty solid bodyguard for you."
