"I know Serena Tong. She should be arriving soon."
Evan Lin spoke calmly.
Zhang Xiao was momentarily stunned by these words.
He then looked hesitantly at Victor Wu and Yara Song.
If this were anywhere else, seeing a kid walk up and shamelessly claim to know someone like Serena Tong, Zhang Xiao would never believe it.
But the situation right now was a little different.
Victor Wu had just said this kid was a random stranger he met on the plane, but if things were really that simple, Victor would have had no reason to bring a stranger like him into the hotel.
He was basically a useless tagalong.
If Victor Wu brought this guy in and he got excited seeing a celebrity and did something crazy, it would ruin Victor and Yara’s reputation in the industry.
It was a thankless job.
So maybe this kid really does have some kind of status, which is why Victor Wu had to bring him in?
Besides, the way Yara Song was talking to him just now was totally different from her usual self.
Yara Song has been through plenty of storms—when has she ever said so much to some random guy? And from her tone, she actually sounded a bit annoyed.
Zhang Xiao instinctively grew wary and kept quiet, deciding to just watch what happened.
After all, when this kid said 'Serena Tong will be here soon,' he looked so calm—it really didn't seem like he was faking it.
If this guy really does have some background, there's no need to offend him without reason.
"Zhang Xiao, don't let this kid fool you. He acted just as confident on the plane, whether he was telling the truth or not. The guy honestly seems emotionless."
Victor Wu sensed Zhang Xiao's worry and spoke up: "I think he's basically face-paralyzed."
Face-paralyzed?
Hearing this, Zhang Xiao felt a bit reassured. He figured Victor Wu wouldn't lie to him.
Hearing that, Zhang Xiao nodded.
"I don't get why you keep saying you know Serena Tong. Just now, when you got blocked outside, didn't you feel even a little embarrassed?"
Yara Song looked at Evan Lin, her expression sour.
From start to finish, this kid never really looked her in the eye.
"I had Victor Wu bring you in so you wouldn't be embarrassed outside. Consider it my thanks for what happened at the airport today."
"After this, we have nothing to do with each other."
"If you really think Serena Tong knows you, feel free to wait here. But just so you know, let me say this up front."
"Whatever you do, you only represent yourself—it has nothing to do with me."
"And I hope you understand—nothing could ever happen between us. Don't waste your time on me. It's impossible."
After finishing, Yara turned and walked toward the lobby.
"That's right. And let me tell you, the guy you fought outside the airport today? He works for the Dunn Group."
"The Dunn Group definitely won't let you off that easy. If you know what's good for you, you'd better leave now."
"Also, let me make it clear: the only reason I helped you at the door was because Yara asked me to. Don't get the wrong idea."
Victor Wu explained, then stopped paying attention to Evan Lin.
"Looks like you've been abandoned."
Zhang Xiao saw Yara turn away and Victor Wu leave as well.
He looked at Evan Lin and smiled. "You're still young. Don't waste your time doing things that never go anywhere."
"Someone like Yara Song is out of your league, and Serena Tong? She's way beyond anything you could even dream of."
"You'd better leave quietly before you embarrass yourself later."
"Oh, by the way, I heard from Victor Wu you had some run-in with the Dunn Group?"
"You'd better be careful. The Dunn Group people are seriously tough."
After saying this, Zhang Xiao laughed and quickly caught up with Yara Song and Victor Wu.
"Three idiots?"
Evan Lin shook his head.
He barely said a word while Yara and the others were talking just now.
First, he wasn't even interested in talking to these people.
Second, he just found their logic pretty bizarre.
Evan Lin picked a sofa and sat down, not really caring about the Dunn Group issue.
Now all he had to do was wait for Serena Tong and Queenie Tong to arrive.
As for the time, Evan wasn't in any hurry.
"Yara, I told you not to meddle with that kid, but you wouldn't listen. Now look—he seems dead set on sticking around here."
Victor Wu walked beside Yara Song, grumbling, "He should've been blocked at the hotel entrance."
Does he really deserve to be in this hotel?
Yara glanced at Evan Lin, quietly sitting on the sofa. From her angle, she could see his profile.
Calm and cold, he looked like a sword resting silently in its sheath.
He never tried to stand out, but somehow he always had an aura that made him impossible to ignore.
"He helped me once, I helped him once. We're even."
Yara replied crisply.
"That whole plane incident started because of him. If not for him, you wouldn't have been exposed and tricked into signing that contract."
"It's his fault, so we don't owe him anything. Honestly, letting him into the hotel and giving him a chance to sit here among all these stars means he owes us."
Victor Wu said seriously, "Besides, he went and beat up a Dunn Group guy without hesitation. That's already a huge mess."
"Anyway, we can't get too close to him. If the Dunn Group comes looking for trouble, it'll be hard for us to stay out of it."
"As a star, you shouldn't create scandals with a clown like him. If you need hype, you should pick someone like Zhang Xiao—a high-traffic male idol who matches your status."
Victor Wu was speaking just as Zhang Xiao walked over.
He smirked, glanced sideways at Evan Lin sitting over there, and just found it laughable.
"That's the difference. You're just a nobody—what makes you think you can stand in front of me?"
"The Yara Song you like? She's actively hyping a romance with me now."
"What a loser."
