Evan Yang gave a bitter smile after hearing the elder's words. "Senior, I'm telling the truth—the pill has no effect on me. You need to use the raw herb instead."
The elder looked at Evan Yang, frustrated, unable to figure out what kind of strange person he was. He could only take out a herb that glowed faint green, hand it to Evan, who brought it to his mouth and swallowed it whole.
Once Evan swallowed it, the herb’s medicinal power was naturally absorbed by the Heaven-Cold qi, but soon returned, reviving the herb’s vitality. Only then did it enter Evan’s body and get properly absorbed.
After absorbing the herb, Evan said, "Alright, that's done."
The elder watched Evan, secretly amused. "Just a bit of this herb is enough, but you swallowed the whole thing. That makes its medicinal power even stronger—if you lose control, it’ll be much more likely."
In the elder’s eyes, even if Evan succeeded in transferring the Cloud Parasite, he would slowly be controlled by it. When that happened, the elder could strike and eliminate him.
Evan had no idea he’d provoked such hatred in the elder. The elder then spoke to Evan: "Place your hand on her forehead, then channel your qi into your hand. The Cloud Parasite will be drawn into your body."
Following the elder’s instructions, Evan placed his hand on Tina Cloud’s forehead and channeled his qi. The herb’s fragrance mixed in, and Tina’s body began to stir—even though Evan had sealed her, she trembled uncontrollably.
After the trembling, a black mist emerged from Tina Cloud’s forehead, slowly flowing into Evan’s hand and then into his body.
Lynton Cloud was shocked, unsure what Evan was doing. Meanwhile, the elder and Philip Hu secretly laughed, thinking Evan was overestimating himself and courting death. Mason Meng frowned—if something happened to Evan, it would be trouble.
"Just wait to die." The elder laughed inwardly as he saw more and more Cloud-mist entering Evan’s body.
Meanwhile, Evan’s forehead turned black, as if stained by something filthy. Only when Tina Cloud’s eyes gradually returned to normal did she realize she couldn’t move, while Evan withdrew his hand and released her seal.
"Dad, what happened to me?" Tina Cloud exclaimed in shock, seeing Lynton Cloud nearby.
"Patriarch Song activated the Cloud Parasite in you, making you lose control and kill many people," Lynton Cloud explained.
Tina Cloud was horrified. After questioning the others, she learned they were from Cloud’s End Palace. Evan sat there with his eyes closed—in truth, he was battling the Cloud Parasite inside him, refusing to let it take control.
Mason Meng frowned deeper. "Elder Li, what exactly is going on?"
"He’s fighting the Cloud Parasite for control of his body. As I said, if he’s lucky, the Cloud will be sealed inside him; if not, the Cloud will take over and control the boy," the elder replied.
Hearing this, Mason Meng began to worry about Evan’s fate.
Tina Cloud, learning the truth, also worried about Evan and felt guilty—if not for her, he wouldn’t be in danger. She was also grateful; without Evan, she would still be controlled by the Cloud Parasite.
"Dad, do you think he’ll be alright?" Tina Cloud looked at her bloodstained body, unable to imagine how many people she’d killed, but right now she was more concerned about Evan’s situation.
"I don't know. Even if something happens, I'll risk my life to help him." Lynton Cloud had already resolved that if Cloud’s End Palace tried to attack Evan, he would die to protect him.
Tina Cloud looked at her adoptive father, who wasn't her blood relative, but treated her so well, and felt deeply grateful.
The elder, who had expected Evan to be quickly controlled by the Cloud Parasite, now saw the two locked in a stalemate—neither able to take over the body for the moment.
"Elder Li, so what's happening now?" Mason Meng asked curiously.
"Right now, they're probably deadlocked. It just depends on who gets control of the body first," the elder replied.
"Is there any way to help him?" Mason Meng asked.
"No, it's entirely up to him. We can't help at all," the elder said.
Hearing there was no way, Mason Meng could only wait helplessly. Unexpectedly, a whole month passed, and Evan still showed no signs of movement, leaving everyone anxious, curious, and confused.
In reality, Evan wasn’t simply locked in a struggle. He’d discovered the Cloud Parasite was fascinating—a rapidly growing entity. He learned that every time it killed through the Cloud, its power increased significantly.
Intrigued by this strange Cloud Parasite, Evan began to study it, intending to make it his own. By 'making it his own,' he meant controlling the Cloud Parasite, so it would obey him.
Over the course of a month, Evan tried many times and finally made progress. The Cloud Parasite inside him became frightened, submitted to Evan, and hoped he would accept it. After all, the Cloud had only two outcomes: take over the body or be sealed away. Now that it couldn’t take over, sealing was its only option—but it didn’t want to be sealed.
Naturally, Evan took control, making the Cloud Parasite his subordinate. Though Evan had many techniques, he lacked a true awareness guardian. As a special entity, the Cloud could protect Evan in awareness states and serve as his helper in Awareness Spaces.
The main thing was that the Cloud Parasite grew stronger by killing—especially strong targets. That’s why it was considered so terrifying in Cloud’s End Realm.
"Cloud, I’ll accept you. I hope you’ll serve me. Once I reach Immortal Sovereign, I’ll set you free," Evan promised.
Hearing Evan’s promise to release it, the Cloud Parasite was deeply grateful and pledged to help him with all its strength.
Suddenly, Evan’s awareness surged as if stimulated by something, becoming much stronger than before—all thanks to the Cloud’s power.

Sensing the change in Evan, everyone was shocked. Could it be that the Cloud Parasite had taken over Evan, making him stronger? The elder was delighted at the thought and shouted, "Everyone, get back! He’s been taken over by the Cloud!"
Knowing Evan’s newfound strength was tied to the Cloud Parasite, everyone looked at him with fear. Lynton Cloud and Tina Cloud were alarmed; Lynton stepped forward to shield Evan, saying, "If you want to kill him, kill me first."
Tina Cloud rushed forward as well. "Me too!"
Mason Meng knew how important Evan was, so he said, "Elder Li, it’s better to hand him over to my master."
"No way. He’s already a Cloud now. If he escapes, the consequences will be endless—especially since this Cloud comes from the previous generation," the elder insisted.
The elder was the strongest here; no one else could challenge him. With Evan supposedly controlled by the Cloud Parasite, the elder had every excuse to eliminate him.
The three shielded Evan, who still had his eyes closed. Seeing they wouldn’t move, the elder grew furious. "Are you all looking for death?"
"If you want to kill, then do it," Lynton Cloud said.
"Elder Li, I promised my master I’d protect him. No matter what, you’ll have to get past me first," Mason Meng said.
The elder hadn’t expected Mason Meng to risk his life for Evan. He couldn’t figure out what order Mason’s master had given, but he knew this was his best chance to eliminate Evan. He shouted, "Don’t blame me!"
With that, the elder unleashed his pressure. The three nearly coughed up blood, but didn’t retreat. The elder warned, "If you keep this up, I really will strike."
"Go ahead," Lynton Cloud said.
"Stubborn fools! Courting death!" the elder snorted coldly.
Just as the elder was about to strike, Evan finally spoke up. "I haven’t been taken over yet, Elder. There’s no need for this."
His words broke the tense standoff. The elder was stunned, while Tina Cloud and the others rejoiced, seeing that Evan was truly fine—even the Cloud mark on his forehead had vanished.
"How is that possible?" the elder said, refusing to believe it.
"You’re wondering how I could be fine, right? The Cloud Parasite is now under my control, Elder. There’s no need to be so wary," Evan replied.
If Mason Meng weren’t here, the elder wouldn’t care if Evan had recovered—he’d just kill him. But now the situation had changed. Still, the elder protested, "Even if the Cloud Parasite is sealed in your body, it might one day reawaken and devour you."
"That won’t happen. Please rest assured, Elder," Evan replied.
"There’s no such thing as ‘won’t happen’—the Cloud Parasite is a terrifying thing," the elder insisted.
"Elder Li, we already agreed beforehand. There’s no need to keep this up," Mason Meng interjected.
The elder looked at Mason Meng, then at Evan, deeply displeased. He had the power but couldn’t act against Evan. He knew Mason’s master was formidable, and if Mason were killed, that master would find out.
"Since that’s the case, I won’t pursue it further. But that doesn’t mean you can leave just yet. You’ll remain in Cloud’s End Palace for several years under observation. Only when we’re sure you’re not being controlled will we let you go," the elder said, now just wanting to keep Evan close to find a chance to strike.
Mason Meng spoke up, "No, my master has more important tasks for him. Please, Elder Li, don’t make things difficult."
The elder was furious at this, but things had already reached this point, so he could only let them leave.
After they left, Philip Hu asked, "Master, are we really letting them go? And what if the one who absorbed the Cloud Parasite is reactivated someday?"
"How could I just let him go? He carries the scent of the herb—others can’t detect it, but I have a way. He thinks he can escape my grasp? Dream on. As for you, hurry and prepare some men, but don’t use people from Cloud’s End Palace," the elder ordered.
