Hugh Hu received the order and immediately set out to carry it out. He found some people outside who were not affiliated with Cloud's End Palace. Once everything was ready, his master used a special method inside Cloud's End Palace to locate Evan Yang's whereabouts and passed the information to Hugh Hu, who then led the way.
Evan Yang grabbed the agonized leader and headed toward the cave he'd mentioned.
At that moment, Hugh Hu was pacing inside the cave. "They should have run into Evan Yang by now. I wonder how it's going."
Lynton Cloud naturally knew Evan Yang wasn't a native of Cloud's End Realm. Leaving was inevitable. As natives of Cloud's End, they couldn't leave, since their true bodies were in a different world from Evan Yang's.
"Nothing much happened." Just then, a voice came from outside, and Evan Yang appeared in front of Hugh Hu.
The moment Hugh Hu saw Evan Yang, he knew the plan was exposed—there was no way to escape now. The cave had only one entrance, and Evan Yang was blocking it.
"You..." Hugh Hu said in terror.
"I didn't expect you to send people to kill me. You really thought of this move. But I'm curious—who gave you the guts to hire so many people who aren't from Cloud's End Palace?" Evan Yang asked.
"Kid, don't get cocky. You'd better let me go. If my master finds out, he'll cripple you," Hugh Hu threatened, trying to intimidate Evan Yang with his master.
Evan Yang chuckled, "Your master? Where is he? Or is he hiding in Cloud's End Palace right now?"
"He was just afraid you'd run away, so he's waiting inside Cloud's End Palace," Hugh Hu replied.
"So what you're saying is, your master sent people to take my life?" Evan Yang laughed.
"That's right, exactly so." Hugh Hu nodded.
"So that's how it is. Then send your master a message—tell him I'm right beside you, but it's very dangerous." Evan Yang said.
Hugh Hu didn't know what Evan Yang meant, but any chance to contact his master was good. So he sent the message. Just as he finished, a palm appeared in front of his chest, shattering his organs. Blood immediately appeared on Evan Yang's hand.
Right before dying, Hugh Hu saw a blood-red palm mark on his chest—the killing imprint of the fully manifested Cloud Parasite. But Evan Yang was clearly conscious. Why would he do that? With that question, Hugh Hu closed his eyes for the last time.
"Yes. Back then, I told him your background and about the Cloud Parasite, hoping that one day, if he regained his strength, he could help me," Lynton Cloud explained.
Evan Yang wiped the blood from his hand, then said to the one-eyed man, "You're lucky. I've already killed one today, so I'll spare you this time." With that, Evan Yang left.
It was a mysterious place. Most importantly, natives of Cloud's End Realm couldn't enter, but Evan Yang wasn't one of them, so he could.
On the road, Evan Yang muttered, "The Cloud Parasite's killing power is even more terrifying than I imagined."
When Evan Yang called on the Cloud Parasite's power, his mind was flooded with a sea of blood and an urge to slaughter everyone. Fortunately, his willpower was strong enough not to lose control—he killed one and left. Still, it left a deep impact on him.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Elder Li received the message. When he realized the connection with Hugh Hu was severed, he was shocked. "Damn it, could he have killed my disciple?"
Thinking of Hugh Hu's fate, Elder Li held back, sneaked out of Cloud's End Palace, while Mason Meng, using a special artifact, discovered Elder Li's departure and hurried after him. But Elder Li was faster.
Elder Li quickly reached his destination and saw Hugh Hu lying on the ground. Eyes blazing with anger, he shouted, "Evan Yang, just wait—I'll kill you!"
Afterward, Hugh Hu's corpse was collected. While cleaning up, Elder Li discovered the palm mark.
"A blood palm? This..." Elder Li was shocked, as if he'd seen the Cloud Parasite manifest again.
After thinking for a while, Elder Li muttered, "Could he have been controlled by the Cloud Parasite? Looks like I need to find him as soon as possible."
Just as Elder Li was leaving the cave, he saw Mason Meng at the entrance.
"Elder Li, what are you doing?" Mason Meng asked.
"You're just in time. Take a look." Elder Li showed Mason Meng Hugh Hu's corpse. When Mason Meng saw the blood palm on Hugh Hu's chest, he frowned, "What happened here?"
"What happened? That guy was controlled by the Cloud Parasite. This is the Cloud Parasite's killing mark!" Elder Li snorted.
"Impossible. He was completely conscious!" Mason Meng insisted.
"Well? Speak up," Evan Yang demanded.
"I'll talk, I'll talk! Lord Hu sent us," the leader confessed, knowing he was no match for Evan Yang. Even all of them together wouldn't stand a chance—the only outcome was death.
"Lord Hu? Which Lord Hu?" Evan Yang asked suspiciously.
"Protector Hu from Cloud's End Palace," the leader blurted out in panic.
Evan Yang gave him a suspicious look. "Where is he now?"
"He's waiting for our report in a cave not far from here," the leader replied, terrified.
Evan Yang sneered, "Still waiting in a cave, huh? Fine, I'll go deliver the news myself." Then he turned to the others. "You can leave. If I see you again, you'll die."
The others were already terrified. They'd thought they'd get something out of this, but now they'd nearly lost their lives. They fled at once. As for the leader, he was deeply frustrated—he'd heard Evan Yang was only an Immortal Lord, so as an Emperor peak, he thought he could easily handle him. But he hadn't expected to hit an immovable wall.
