Telling Faye Knox the Truth

1/19/2026

When Evan Chu heard Faye Knox finish explaining the situation, his expression changed slightly. He glanced at her, then smiled and said, "Is it really that serious? There are actually four top experts coming to hunt me down? What kind of strength do these four top experts have? Are they stronger than the city lord of Grimchart City, Victor Wang?"

Faye Knox really wanted to hit someone. This guy was practically asking for trouble—he didn’t even know about the four top experts at the Ghost King’s side. She seriously doubted whether he was actually from the Netherworld at all.

Forcing herself to swallow her anger, Faye said, "At minimum, they’re all Second-Layer Venerable Martial Realm experts. Provoking people like that—even if you had nine lives, it wouldn’t be enough. How can you still act so unconcerned? I’m worried sick about you."

"Heh, are you worried about me? I knew you’d be worried, because I’m your man, after all! But don’t worry, I don’t take these people seriously. So what if they’re four Venerable Martial Realm experts? If they dare mess with me, I’ll make sure they never come back!" Evan laughed.

"Can’t you be serious for once? I’m not joking with you—this time you’ve really stirred up a huge mess. The Ghost King hasn’t mobilized his four top experts in hundreds of years, and it’s all because of you!" Luna said with a bitter smile.

"I am being serious! If all four of them showed up together, maybe I’d run away. But if any of them are alone, I can totally kill them. You should know, I just finished killing two Second-Layer Venerable Martial experts—otherwise I’d have arrived in Rakshasa City much sooner. It took me a while to recover my strength after that. So now you should realize I’m really not afraid of them!" Evan said.

Faye was instantly shocked. She stared at Evan, confused, and said, "Are you serious? You really have the power to kill Second-Layer Venerable experts? Then what realm are you at right now?"

"Of course I’m serious. My actual cultivation is really low—only Second-Layer Saint Martial Realm. Surprised?" Evan smiled, his eyes locked on Faye’s face, wanting to see her reaction.

This time, Faye was truly furious. "You little thief, I never thought you’d be this kind of person. I really misjudged you. From now on, we’re strangers."

Her words were simple and direct, but in Evan’s ears, they stung. He knew Faye had misunderstood him, but anyone would—how could a mere Second-Layer Saint Martial cultivator possibly kill a Second-Layer Venerable? No one would believe it, not even if you beat them to death.

But Evan didn’t care at all. He pulled Faye Knox directly into his arms and said, "Why would I lie to you? I’m telling the truth—every word is true. You just don’t believe me. Even though things like this should be impossible, they happened to me."

Being pulled into Evan’s arms, Faye was startled and immediately struggled, "Let go of me! You shameless little thief, how can you be like this? If you don’t let go, I’ll really get angry!"

Seeing Faye’s face flushed bright red, Evan felt a strange sensation in his heart. Seizing the moment, he kissed her lips and used his tongue to pry open her teeth.

When it came to kissing, Evan was a veteran, while Faye had no experience at all—she was no match for him. In just a few breaths, his tongue pried open her teeth and slipped inside, tangling with her little tongue. Instantly, a strange feeling swept through Faye’s body, making her whole self burn with heat.

Evan’s hand moved up and down, constantly caressing her back.

But then Faye pushed Evan away with all her strength, and the two separated. Her face was full of anger as she glared at him, "How could you do that? Do you know how worried I was when I heard the Ghost King issued a Netherworld-wide wanted order for you? I’ve been thinking about your safety every moment since then.

I waited for you at the city gate these past two days. So many people came and went every day—do you know how it feels to be disappointed again and again? Every time someone walked in and it wasn’t you, I felt let down. After hundreds and thousands of times, you finally showed up, but now you’re bullying me—do you have any idea how hurt I am?"

As she spoke, tears welled up in Faye’s eyes and slowly rolled down her cheeks. Evan’s heart ached at the sight. Maybe he really had gone too far—clearly, she truly cared about him.

"Faye, I know I went too far this time. It’s just because I missed you so much. I know you’re worried about me—please don’t cry, okay? Look at you, you’re all teary-eyed like a little kitten." Evan said gently, wiping the tears from her face with his hand.

"Liar. I won’t believe you! You’re just a scoundrel—a big bully who only knows how to pick on people!" Faye said, all the while swinging her fists at Evan’s chest.

Evan knew she needed to vent, so he let her hit him. After a while, Faye stopped and said, "Why didn’t you dodge? Feeling guilty, thief?"

Evan laughed, "If it helps you calm down, you can hit me as much as you want. I really wasn’t lying. Ever since I killed that viper and then those two Venerable Martial experts in Grimchart City, my strength has changed completely. It’s all thanks to you—when I first met you, I was only at Ninth-Layer Divine Martial Realm. It was your Netherghost Violet Orchid that let me break through to Second-Layer Saint Martial Realm.

I know it was wrong to deceive you, but I had to do it to improve my strength. I believe you’ll forgive me, right?" Evan said seriously.

Faye looked at Evan as if he were a monster. "Are you serious? You were really only at Divine Martial Realm when we first met? How is that even possible!"

"Absolutely true. You have a pretty high status in the Netherworld too, right? Faye, the reason I wanted to win you over was so you’d agree to be my woman. I never meant to cause such a mess or make you worry." Evan said.

Faye was a little confused—she didn’t know whether to believe Evan or not. But deep down, she really wanted to become his woman. So she said, "I’m a Netherkin princess. If you want to be my man, you’ll have to work for it. There are tens of thousands of men who like me, and I don’t have to choose you."

Evan chuckled, "So what if there are tens of thousands? Unless they have a Pure Yang Constitution, it doesn’t matter how many men like you. I can tell you clearly—I’m the Pure Yang Constitution man you’ve been searching for, and you’re the Nether Yin Constitution woman I need. Otherwise, how would I know you’re a Nether Yin Constitution?"

His words were like a bolt from the blue—Faye was stunned, stepping back several times. After a long moment, she finally asked, "You really have a Pure Yang Constitution?" Her voice trembled with excitement… (More to come, later!)
