Two days later, Evan Chu's Chaos Dragon Force was finally fully restored—a result that was only possible thanks to the Star Crystal. If he had relied on high-grade Starstones instead, it would have taken at least four or five days. At this moment, Evan was seriously frustrated and helpless.
Leveling up is supposed to be a good thing, but now his consumption rate just can't keep up. Before, it only took a day to recover; now it takes two. Once his strength climbs even higher, how long will it take then?
Evan Chu stood up, letting the mountain wind blow across his face—it felt incredibly refreshing. He knew that what he'd done had caused a huge stir, so he'd have to keep a low profile from now on. For the moment, his top priority was to find Faye Knox. Maybe after absorbing her Nether Yin qi, he'd finally have the qualification to roam freely throughout the Netherworld.
He remembered that Faye Knox had told him to find her in Rakshasa City. Without delay, Evan spread his senses and flew off in the direction she'd left before. For him, a distance of ten thousand li was nothing now—just a few teleportations and he'd be there.
Soon, Evan stopped—he’d almost covered the distance. A few li ahead stood a massive city. He’d never visited Rakshasa City before, so he wasn’t sure if this was the right place. If it wasn’t, he’d just head inside and ask around.
Evan kept dense ghost‑qi swirling around his body, his head hidden under a cloak so no one could see his face. Picking a deserted spot, he descended from the sky and slowly made his way onto the main road leading into the city.
Naturally, the road was crowded with people coming and going—Humans, Ghosts, and other races all mixed together. It was completely different from Grimchart City.
Evan didn’t bother asking anyone for directions—he was about to enter the city, and the gate guards would tell him what he needed to know. No point wasting words.
Soon, Evan arrived at the city gate. One glance told him the city was about as big as Grimchart, truly enormous. The gate guards were all Ghost Clan members—as expected, since this city was still under Ghost jurisdiction.
The city’s name was written above the gate, but Evan couldn’t read the Netherworld script, which annoyed him. Soon enough, the gate guards stopped him.
You need to pay an entrance fee to get into the city—Evan knew this rule well enough. He immediately took out a few Netherstones and handed them to one of the guards, saying, “Sir, this should be enough, right?”
The guard took the Netherstones and replied, “It’s enough. But let me warn you—don’t cause trouble in Rakshasa City, or you’ll die a miserable death.”
"Yes, yes, of course! I understand!" Evan said respectfully, then entered the city along with the other travelers.
“So this really is Rakshasa City. If I weren’t here to find Faye Knox, I wouldn’t bother being polite with these guys. Anyone who tried to block my way would’ve been cut down already. Still, Rakshasa City is something else—so many races all gathered in one place.” Evan muttered to himself.
“This city really is a mixed bag, but there’s no sign of bullies or local tyrants running wild. What does that tell you? It means the management here is extremely strict. In other words, the city lord must be a powerhouse—you’d better be careful!” Luna said just then.
Evan glanced around. The streets of Rakshasa City were much like those in Grimchart—vendors shouting everywhere, taverns and teahouses lining the roads. The only difference was the regular appearance of pairs of city guards in golden armor.
Evan probed their strength—the weakest of these guards were at the Second Layer of the Saint Martial Realm, and all of them were Ghost Clan. No wonder this place wasn’t simple.
He wandered the streets without any particular aim, occasionally overhearing people discuss the destruction of Grimchart City. Evan hadn’t expected the news to spread so fast—Rakshasa City was ten thousand li away, and it was still buzzing with rumors. Impressive.
He didn’t bother listening to the details of their conversations. Right now, he needed to find Faye Knox and figure out his next move.
As he walked, a familiar voice suddenly called out, “Little thief, why are you only arriving now? Hurry up and follow me—something big has happened.”
Evan was startled—the voice was unmistakably Faye Knox’s. He hadn’t found her yet, but she’d already found him. He looked in the direction of the voice and spotted a woman in a black cloak standing in the distance.
He hurried over. “Don’t say anything yet—wait until I take you somewhere safe, then we’ll talk!” Faye said.
She didn’t care about Evan’s expression and just kept walking ahead. After a while, they stopped in front of an inn. “I’m staying in Heaven Room One; your room is Heaven Room Two. We’ll go in separately to avoid attracting attention.”
Evan felt a bit awkward—he didn’t even know where Heaven Room Two was, let alone how to find it. Besides, he couldn’t read Netherworld script. “Are Heaven Room One and Two next to each other?”
Faye gave Evan a sidelong glance, puzzled by his question—was he up to something? Thinking of how he usually acted around her, she felt a bit uneasy, but she still nodded and said, “It’s right next door.”
Faye went inside the inn. Evan waited outside for a moment, already forming a plan. He couldn’t read the signs or know the directions, but he could have Luna or Jade Chu use their spiritual sense to find Faye’s room—then just take the one next door.
After some thought, Evan decided to ask Luna for help. Jade Chu had said she needed to sleep for a while, and he didn’t want to disturb her, so he explained his plan to Luna.
Luna quickly found the answer for Evan, and he entered the inn. But the attendant stopped him. “Are you here to stay or just to eat?”
“I’m staying, but my room’s already been booked—no need to trouble you,” Evan replied.
The attendant was Human, probably at the fifth or sixth layer of the Divine Martial Realm. Seeing that Evan wasn’t lying, he said, “Then please go ahead! If you need anything, just let me know.”
Evan nodded slightly and walked toward the room Luna had pointed out. Sure enough, he saw Faye Knox sitting inside. Since the corridor was empty, Evan slipped right into her room.
Faye didn’t bother with appearances—she just waved her hand and shut the door. Glaring at Evan, she snapped, “You’ve gotten yourself into huge trouble this time! The entire Netherworld has a bounty out for you. So, what’s your plan now?”
Evan was shocked. “What happened? How did it turn into a Netherworld-wide manhunt? All I did was destroy Grimchart City—what’s the big deal?”
Faye wanted to punch him—how could he act so calm when disaster was looming? In the end, she had to explain that the Ghost King himself had issued the bounty... (To be continued tonight)
