Elder Shaw also rushed over upon hearing the commotion. Seeing Evan Yang and Faye Gale, he was both furious and exasperated, as if he'd swallowed something unpleasant.
Faye spoke up, "Someone was hiding here just now, so we started the fire to catch him."
"Catch someone? Who are you kidding? There's nobody here but you two." Elder Shaw snorted coldly.
"Believe it or not," Faye replied, then signaled Evan Yang to leave with her.
Seeing Evan Yang and Faye Gale about to leave after causing such a commotion, Elder Shaw shouted angrily, "Do you think the Human World is a playground? You can't just start fires whenever you want!"
"Like I said, believe it or not," Faye replied.
Elder Shaw glared furiously, wanting to attack Faye, but Elder Shaw quickly stepped forward. "I think this is just a misunderstanding," he said.
"A misunderstanding? A misunderstanding? Everyone saw it, and you're still calling it a misunderstanding?" Cao Pin wouldn't let it go.
Elder Shaw was about to explain further when Faye spoke up, "So what do you want to do?" At the same time, she released a wave of pressure, making Elder Shaw feel intimidated.
"You..." Cao Pin looked around, realizing no one here could match Faye Gale.
"Miss, please don't make trouble," Elder Shaw quickly sent a voice transmission.
Faye withdrew her aura, and Cao Pin glared at her. "Don't think you're so great just because you're strong. You'll see," he said, then told everyone to disperse.
Evan Yang, Faye Gale, and Elder Shaw returned to their quarters. Elder Shaw pressed Evan and Faye for details about what happened, so Faye recounted the events. When Elder Shaw heard someone had tried to kill Faye, he was shocked.
"Are you really sure?" Elder Shaw asked in astonishment.
"Yes, I'm certain," Faye nodded.
"Did you get a good look at him?" Elder Shaw asked.
Faye shook her head, "No, I only managed to land an attack, but he disappeared right after."
"That's troublesome. The Human World is vast, and there are many powerful people. We have no idea who wants you dead." Elder Shaw was deeply worried about Faye's safety. If something happened to her, it would be a huge problem.
"Don't worry, Elder Shaw. I already injured him, so he shouldn't come back anytime soon," Faye replied.
"What if he has accomplices?" Elder Shaw said gloomily.
"I think you should return to the Fiend Realm," Evan Yang suddenly said. Even though he hadn't seen the attacker's face clearly, he could tell from the man's outfit which faction he belonged to.
"Return to the Fiend Realm? Why?" Faye Gale asked, confused.
Elder Xiao was curious too. Did Evan Yang know the attacker's background? Evan explained, "He's an assassin from the Black Hand Syndicate."
"Black Hand Syndicate? What kind of sect is that?" Faye Gale didn't understand, but Elder Xiao, who had traveled the Human World, did. He asked in surprise, "How do you know?"
Seeing Elder Xiao's expression, Faye Gale realized this wasn't simple. She asked curiously, "Is it powerful?"
Evan Yang described the attacker's features and explained the Black Hand Syndicate to Faye Gale.
"Strange, who would hire someone to kill me? Could it be someone from Sacred Mountain?" Faye Gale wondered aloud.
"That's unlikely. The people you offended today weren't from Sacred Mountain, but from the Fenn Family. So I suspect it's Second Young Master Fenn," Evan Yang replied.
"That idiot?" Faye Gale asked skeptically.
"Yes, he must have spent a fortune. If you want to know for sure, just investigate him directly," Evan Yang replied.
"How do we investigate?" Faye Gale really wanted to know who was targeting her.
"Just grab someone and ask. But it's best not to alert anyone else," Evan Yang said.
"Where is he?" Faye Gale hadn't paid attention to Second Young Master Fenn today, but Evan Yang had. He told Faye where Second Young Master Fenn was staying.
Evan Yang and Elder Xiao stayed in their room.
"Kid, how do you know so much?" Elder Xiao was impressed by Evan Yang's insight.
"I heard it from someone before," Evan Yang said with a smile.
Elder Xiao was half convinced, feeling Evan Yang seemed very familiar with the Human World.
Soon, Faye Gale really did bring someone back. The person was unconscious, so Elder Xiao took out a God-Illusion Pill and said, "Give it to him."
Faye Gale woke the captive. Just as he was about to yell, she made him swallow the pill, which muddled his mind. Next up was the interrogation.
Evan Yang asked, "Did Second Young Master Fenn contact anyone from the Black Hand Syndicate?"
"I don't know," the captive replied.
"You don't know?" Evan Yang found it odd, since the pill should work. Faye Gale also looked at the captive suspiciously.
After thinking for a moment, Evan Yang asked, "Did Second Young Master Fenn do anything unusual today?"
The captive replied, "Yes, he ordered everyone to collect Spirit Crystal Ore."
"How much?" Evan Yang felt something was off.
"Ten billion," the captive replied.
Hearing this, all three of them gasped. That was an enormous amount of Spirit Crystal Ore. Evan Yang was now certain Second Young Master Fenn used it to hire the assassin.
Faye Gale quickly understood, and cursed angrily, "Despicable!"
"Alright, now that we know, you should return to the Fiend Realm," Evan Yang said.
"But I already seriously injured the assassin," Faye Gale replied.
"The Black Hand Syndicate has a rule: once they accept a contract, they must kill the target. So you're in danger at any time," Evan Yang replied.
Faye Gale thought for a moment and answered, "There are so many people here, I should be fine. Let's wait until everything is over before deciding."
"Miss, I really think you should go back," Elder Xiao said, still worried about Faye's safety.
"Enough, that's settled," Faye Gale said stubbornly.
Evan Yang shook his head helplessly.
"So what about him?" Faye Gale asked curiously.
"We can't let him go, but if we don't, the Fenn Family might notice," Evan Yang said, frowning.
"I have a solution," Elder Xiao replied.
Elder Xiao took out a pill and made the confused captive swallow it, then opened the door and let him leave.
"Elder Xiao, what was that?" Evan Yang asked curiously.
"It's a pseudo-Immortal pill, the Memory-Breaker Pill. It makes him forget everything from the past hour up to now for a month," Elder Xiao explained.
"There's a pill like that?" Evan Yang said, surprised.
"Yes, it's unique to the Fiend Realm. The Human World doesn't have it," Elder Xiao said proudly.

"Pass it to me someday," Evan Yang said with a smile.
"We'll talk after you win," Elder Xiao said with a chuckle.
"Stop discussing pills, what about my safety?" Faye Gale said helplessly, seeing them get distracted.
"I told you, just go back to the Fiend Realm," Evan Yang said.
Elder Xiao nodded in agreement. "I think so too."
Faye Gale looked at the two and sighed. "Forget it, I won't ask you anymore. I'll just stay until everything's over, then I'll go back."
"Miss, please don't make trouble. If anything really happens, I can't take responsibility," Elder Xiao said, alarmed.
Faye Gale insisted, "I don't need you to be responsible."
From their conversation, Evan Yang realized Faye Gale's identity was definitely extraordinary.
"Miss," Elder Xiao was about to say more, but Faye interrupted, "I'm going to sleep. You two do your thing. Tomorrow I'll watch you refine pills."
Elder Xiao said gloomily, "Kid, you have to keep an eye on her. If necessary, you might even have to risk your life."
"Elder Xiao, what exactly is her identity?" Evan Yang asked curiously.
"You don't need to know for now. I'll tell you later," Elder Xiao sighed, then left.
Watching them leave one after another, Evan Yang could only prepare to lie down.
Over at Second Young Master Fenn's place, everyone was having fun when a guard walked in, looking confused and dazed.
"Xiao Li, what's wrong with you?" another guard asked, then went over and gave him a push.
