Elder Shaw took out a space bag and began laying out the medicinal herbs one by one. At first glance, each herb emitted a faint black miasma.
Some of the senior cultivators quickly recognized these herbs. The rarer the herb, the denser its aura in the Fiend Realm. Outsiders who didn’t understand thought they were poisonous and pointed and whispered among themselves.
Elder Cole chuckled, "Exactly. These are at least used for refining pseudo-Immortal pills, or are essential ingredients for certain key medicines."
Evan Yang also looked over the herbs. Their medicinal properties were still too weak for him; except for a few rare ones required for precious pills, the rest had little effect on him. So he was more interested in what the Human World would offer.
Those unfamiliar with the trade heard Elder Cole’s praise and began to mutter as well.
Then Elder Cole had people bring out another space bag. The herbs inside were laid out one by one, and a thick spiritual energy wafted from them. Compared to the previous batch, it was like black versus green.
At that moment, Evan Yang truly wanted to grab them all and absorb their energy before tossing them back, but he held himself back, muttering inwardly, "These really are some fine herbs."
The Human World representatives cooperated smoothly. The major clan members glanced at the herbs with a hint of greed, but none were foolish enough to try and snatch them—these belonged to the Sacred Mountain.
"Not bad," Elder Shaw nodded in agreement.
"Let’s get started then. To keep things simple, you’ll face our Saint Hand, but what about the other two?" Elder Cole smiled, glancing at Evan Yang. He already knew Evan was set to refine the God-Illusion Pill, so he’d prepared some good stuff in advance.
"He’s the one for the God-Illusion Pill." Elder Shaw pointed at Evan Yang.
"And the other person?" Elder Cole asked.
"Can I go up?" Elder Shaw replied.
"You? Are you kidding? Otherwise, maybe I should let our Saint Hand go up as well." Elder Cole laughed. The others laughed too, as if mocking the Fiend Realm for not even having proper alchemists to send.
Evan Yang knew the original arrangement was for Henry Huo, but he wasn’t here now, so he curiously looked at Elder Shaw.
Elder Shaw looked helpless. He knew this would happen and could only say, "Well..."
Just as Elder Shaw was about to give up, Evan Yang spoke up, "Can I substitute?"
No one expected Evan Yang to step in. Elder Shaw was also surprised and looked at Evan suspiciously.
Evan Yang laughed via sound transmission, "If I win both rounds, give me some more herbs."
Elder Shaw hadn’t expected Evan Yang to be so bold, so he agreed with a "Better than nothing," attitude, saying, "No problem."
