Joint Night Ambush

"I believe you." Evan Yang smiled.

"So what should we do with this guy?" Faye Gale asked, looking at the person suspiciously.

"Can you carry someone with you?" Evan Yang grinned.

"How?" Faye asked curiously.

"I'll wake him up in a bit. Can you take me away for a short distance?" Evan Yang smiled.

"That's not a problem." Faye nodded.

"Alright, then once I wake him up, you take me away." Evan said.

"No problem." Faye replied with a smile.

So, after Evan Yang made a few moves on the unconscious person, Faye used Flash Step, bringing Evan along. When Evan reappeared, he was already some distance away.

The unconscious man woke up, looked around suspiciously, and muttered, "Strange, there was clearly a shadow here—so how did it disappear?"

The man who'd been unconscious only felt as if something brushed against him, but now he was perfectly fine, which left him puzzled.

"That was fast, just as expected." Evan Yang smiled.

"Once your cultivation reaches a certain level, you'll be able to do it too." Faye Gale said with a smile.

"Well, I'd like that." Evan Yang grinned.

"Let's go, or Elder Shaw will start nagging again." Faye Gale said, since she'd almost disappeared for half the day.

Evan Yang nodded and returned to his room, where he immediately saw Elder Shaw staring at both of them, "Where have you two been?"

"Nothing much, just wandered around the Sacred Mountain." Faye Gale replied with a smile.

"Are you sure?" Elder Shaw asked suspiciously, noticing a strange smell on Faye Gale.

Faye Gale noticed something was off with herself and quickly smiled, "I accidentally broke a sweat just now, I'll go wash up."

With that, she vanished in a flash, leaving Evan behind, who could only smile, "I'm tired, I'll head out first."

"Kid, did you memorize all that?" Elder Shaw called out to Evan Yang.

Evan Yang smiled, "No problem, I've got it all down."

"Good." Seeing Evan win another round, Elder Shaw smiled.

Evan Yang returned to his room, closed the door, and slipped into the shadows to enter the Sky-Piercing Tower. Inside, he took out those two black objects.

Evan Yang first unsealed the spirit stone and smiled, "How about it?"

"What exactly are you planning?" The spirit stone was startled as Evan kept moving it around.

"I just want to get to know you." Evan Yang smiled.

"What do you want?" The spirit stone asked, surprised by Evan's strange gaze.

"Nothing much. Just want to ask if you'd rather stay with me, or if you'd prefer to go back." Evan Yang smiled.

The spirit stone was a clever, sentient object. Hearing Evan's words, it quickly realized what he meant—he wanted to keep it, but was offering a choice.
