Shocking the Entire City

Although Sean Xiao was dissatisfied, he still had to listen to Evan Chu's words. He looked at the few arrogant youths in front of him and said, "Today, all of you must die. Don't blame me for killing the innocent. You heard what he just said—if you want to blame someone, blame yourselves for following the wrong person. You couldn't afford to provoke a Third-Layer Saint Martial expert, but you think you can mess with a Fourth-Layer?"

The whole tavern was stunned at these words. In Skyspear City, a Fourth-Layer Saint Martial expert was one of the very top powerhouses. Instantly, everyone’s faces turned pale, especially Jace Jia, who was so nervous he could barely breathe. What was with his luck today? Every time he ran into someone, it turned out to be a super expert. Was he blessed, or had his luck run out for good?

"Senior, we didn’t know who you were. Please spare us! We promise we’ll change our ways—just give us a chance!" Jace Jia immediately pleaded. Even though he was the City Lord’s son, he knew he couldn’t afford to provoke such a powerhouse right now. As long as he survived this disaster, everything else could be solved later.

"Too late. I can’t take back what I’ve said. Just enjoy the taste of my space domain!" Sean Xiao declared, then waved his hand, instantly surrounding everyone in the tavern with a powerful force of space.

The middle-aged man’s expression changed slightly, shock flashing across his face as he glanced at Sean Xiao. But Sean just looked down on him and sent a message directly into his mind: "Behave yourself, or I’ll cut you down too. A Third-Layer Saint Martial means nothing to me—like an ant, I could take your life any time I wanted."

After a flash of anger, the middle-aged man quickly returned to normal. "Senior, there’s no need to press me so hard—I have no interest in your business at all."

"Good that you know your place. Here’s some advice—leave Skyspear City as soon as possible, or your life will be at risk!" Sean Xiao said, then strode straight out.

Right now, everyone in the tavern was frozen in place as if a spell of immobilization had been cast—they couldn’t move at all. The few youths who’d come in with Jace Jia showed expressions of agony, crushed under the immense pressure that made them feel utterly miserable.

Seeing Sean Xiao come out, Evan Chu laughed and said, "That was quick! You didn’t even make a sound. Looks like your space domain is pretty impressive."

"They’re not dead yet. I’m just torturing them slowly. If I wanted them dead, all it’d take is a thought. What’s your plan next?" Sean Xiao asked.

"Let's head in and see for ourselves. Jace Jia is the City Lord's son—his life is the bait to draw out Skyspear City's real powerhouses. Anyone who refuses to obey gets executed on the spot. Those who submit can stay in Skyspear City and serve the Shade Lord." Evan Chu grinned.

With that, Evan Chu and Sean Xiao strode into the tavern. The scene inside was downright hilarious: some patrons had their mouths wide open, frozen mid-bite; others were caught mid-pour, wine suspended in the air. It was as if time itself had stopped, leaving everyone stuck in their last action.

Evan Chu had never seen anything like it before. "Sean, what kind of domain is this? It's wild!"

"It's not much for offense, but it can freeze time itself. I call it the Time Domain—something I stumbled onto by accident. Honestly, it's a bit of a chicken-rib domain: not useless, but not exactly tasty either," Sean Xiao said.

"Kill those guys, and take Jace Jia with us. If anyone wants to save him, have City Lord Thomas Jia come find me personally. I'll be waiting outside Skyspear City's walls." Evan Chu's voice was pure arrogance.

Sean Xiao got the hint and smiled. With a single thought, Jace Jia's companions were reduced to puddles of meat—dead in an instant. Sean then released his space domain, and suddenly everyone regained their freedom.

Right then, no one in the tavern even dared to breathe too loudly. Power like this was rare beyond words. Every patron stared at Evan and Sean, terror in their eyes—afraid that one wrong move would get them killed too. Against monsters like these, there was no such thing as resistance. The only outcome was death.

At that moment, Jace Jia finally realized he’d messed with someone way out of his league. His face was ghostly pale, and the funniest part? There was a puddle forming beneath his feet, followed by a wave of stench spreading through the tavern hall.

Evan Chu couldn’t believe how pathetic this guy was—Sean Xiao had literally scared him into wetting himself, and even crapping his pants. What a disgrace! Jace just stood there, shaking like a leaf, scared out of his mind.

"Sean, grab this clown and let’s get moving. If anyone wants a reward, just report to the City Lord’s Mansion—news this juicy is sure to earn you a pile of Netherstones, maybe even a cushy post in the Mansion. Opportunity knocks!" Evan Chu laughed.

As Evan Chu, Sean Xiao, and Jace Jia left the tavern, the crowd finally let out a collective sigh of relief. Those two were straight-up demons—killing whoever they pleased. Jace Jia’s crew were all heirs of Skyspear City’s dominant clans; their slaughter was bound to shake the city to its core.

Evan and Sean grabbed Jace Jia and shot into the sky, vanishing in a blink. Instantly, people in the tavern bolted outside, scattering in all directions—each one eager to spread the news.

The Yang Family head of Skyspear City was enjoying a tender moment with his concubine when a servant’s urgent voice came from outside the door: "Master, Young Lord has been killed by some mysterious youth—his body’s still lying at Fragrant Pavilion!"

He was just reaching his peak when the news hit him like a lightning bolt. For a long moment, he was frozen in shock. Meanwhile, his concubine—lost in her own bliss—didn’t even hear the servant’s report.

Seeing her master motionless, the concubine piped up, "Why’d you stop? Are you not up to it anymore? Maybe have the servants brew you some tonic for yin-nourishing and yang-strengthening later?"

The Yang Family head’s face turned ashen as he shot her a look, then roared, "Whoever dares kill my son—I’ll make sure they die, no matter who they are!" The killing intent poured out, filling the room and leaving his concubine speechless with fear.

The heads of two other clans, hearing the news of their own sons’ deaths, were just as shocked and furious. In Skyspear City, someone actually dared to go after their heirs? If they didn’t strike back, people might think Skyspear had gone soft.

City Lord Thomas Jia of Skyspear City was stunned to hear his son had been captured by a powerful expert, and that the other clan heirs had been killed. Nine-Shade City had just been destroyed, and now Skyspear was in chaos—clearly, this intruder came prepared. But when he heard the one who’d captured Jace Jia was only a Fourth-Layer Venerable, he relaxed a bit. He barked, "Summon the Mansion’s consecrated guests! You’re coming with me—let’s see who’s causing trouble!"
