You’re Courting Death

1/19/2026

Goldwing appeared above the Sea Dragon Empire soldiers, instantly drawing countless eyes. Everyone knew how savage this giant bird was, but now, seeing fireballs suddenly burst from its back, their terror only deepened.

A Skyshaker Bomb crashed into the dense mass of Sea Dragon Empire troops, erupting with a thunderous blast. The shockwave and flying flames instantly wiped out nearly every soldier within dozens of meters.

No one had expected this. And after the first Skyshaker Bomb came the second. With Evan Chu and three others riding Goldwing, they could attack wherever they pleased—always aiming for the densest crowds, making each bomb even more devastating.

"Scatter! They’ve got Skyshaker Bombs too!" A general roared, channeling his Stellar Power so that everyone could hear his thunderous command.

In an instant, the Sea Dragon Empire’s troops fell into chaos. They’d been about to attack the Heavenly Dragon Empire’s soldiers—now they were just fleeing in every direction.

Evan Chu knew that high-level experts would soon come to stop him, so he fired the Skyshaker Bombs as fast as he could. In less than five minutes, he’d launched over a dozen—all aimed at the densest clusters. The bombs’ overwhelming power shattered the Sea Dragon Empire’s formations, scattering their soldiers everywhere and wiping out their original order.

There was only one word to describe the scene now: chaos. This was no longer a disciplined, organized army.

Marshal Feiqing Yun saw his army reduced to this state and was so furious he wanted to devour the people atop that giant bird alive. He understood instantly—Yuetian Wu’s group had likely been wiped out, or else the Skyshaker Bombs wouldn’t be here.

To see his own empire’s weapons turned on his own troops—no one could accept that. "Men, follow me! We’re taking that giant bird down! I’ll make sure the one firing those bombs dies and stays dead!"

Two generals immediately joined Feiqing Yun, flying up to attack Goldwing. Meanwhile, Evan Chu focused only on firing off the last of the Skyshaker Bombs—he barely worried about the enemies coming his way.

The two generals with him were both Divine Martial Realm experts. Even if they couldn’t defeat Feiqing Yun, they could at least hold him off for a while. As long as Evan finished firing all the Skyshaker Bombs and retreated to the city quickly, the enemy wouldn’t dare pursue.

Feiqing Yun spotted Evan Chu and his group. Selena, though wounded, could still handle one of the enemy generals. The three left Goldwing’s back and flew into the air, facing off against Feiqing Yun and his men.

Goldwing quickly exited the six-man standoff zone. The two Sea Dragon Empire generals tried to intercept him, but the two Heavenly Dragon Empire generals blocked their way.

Evan Chu knew Selena was injured and couldn’t fight for long, so he kept launching Skyshaker Bombs as fast as possible. Each blast echoed through the sky and ground, raising clouds of dust and turning the heavens dark and ominous.

Seeing he had only two Skyshaker Bombs left, Evan decided not to use them. He’d save these for mounting on the city wall—they’d be perfect for defending against enemy attacks.

He hurriedly had Goldwing fly back to the city walls. Once Evan returned, Selena and the other two didn’t engage in a real fight either; they quickly withdrew, while Feiqing Yun and his men could only watch them leave, powerless to stop them.

If they tried chasing, the Heavenly Dragon Empire troops could easily surround them. Feiqing Yun could only blame himself for not bringing enough men—if he’d brought seven or eight experts, escaping would’ve been much harder for the enemy.

This round of Skyshaker Bomb attacks by Evan Chu killed over fifty thousand Sea Dragon Empire soldiers and wounded more than a hundred thousand. With such results, the Heavenly Dragon Empire’s troops were wild with excitement.

Seeing the Sea Dragon Empire’s ranks blasted into chaos, the Heavenly Dragon troops surged forward, fighting like madmen. The enemy was forced into a relentless retreat.

The whole battlefield reeked of blood, with corpses strewn everywhere and rivers of gore. It was a scene so brutal it could make anyone retch—even Evan Chu was shaken at the sight.

Evan Chu and Selena stood atop the city wall, watching the hellish carnage unfold. The two generals were already down on the battlefield, commanding their troops to slaughter the enemy.

At that moment, General Roland Lowell flew up to the wall and said to Evan and Selena, "Thanks to this Skyshaker Bomb attack, our army’s morale is at its peak. This war should end within three days—you two deserve immense credit."

"You flatter us, General. As citizens of the Empire, this is our duty. But there’s something I don’t get—why are the soldiers fighting each other while the generals stay out of it?" Evan Chu asked.

It’d be far more thrilling if the generals were dueling in the sky. But instead, they were all busy commanding their troops—none of them fought like that.

"Evan, you don’t understand warfare, so you wouldn’t know. In battle, command comes first. If the generals all killed each other, who’d lead the army? The troops would turn into a headless mob, and victory would be impossible," Roland explained.

"I may not know much about war, but I do want the fighting to end quickly. Wouldn’t it be easier to just kill the enemy’s general or supreme commander?" Evan asked.

"Did you notice no enemy expert tried to rush over and kill me or our other generals? When you bombed their army from above, Feiqing Yun only sent two generals to intercept—that’s the reason.

You two should get some rest—you’ve earned it. In three days, there’ll be a result!" With that, Roland left; as commander, his presence inspired the troops.

Evan suddenly realized Gavin Wei was missing from the wall. He turned to Selena and asked, "Have you seen Gavin? That guy really never lets me relax."

"I saw him—he’s down on the battlefield, fighting! You worry about your brother too much. He needs to temper himself in hardship to grow stronger and more mature," Selena replied.

"You’re still hurt—you should find a place to recover. I’ll go down and train alongside him. Like you said, only through hardship can we truly grow." Evan smiled.

"Go on, then. I hope you gain something from this!" Selena said, turning to leave. Evan leaped off the wall and charged straight into the Sea Dragon Empire’s ranks.

He swung the Frostbane Sword in swift arcs. Against these soldiers, a single Worldshroud Tempest could cut down several at once—soon, Evan had carved a bloody swath through the enemy ranks.

Evan’s rampage quickly drew the attention of a commanding general. Seeing Evan slaughtering his men, the general roared, "Boy, are you trying to get yourself killed...?"
