General Roland Lowell stood atop the city wall, gazing down at the nine hundred thousand soldiers below. The massed ranks were a solid, black tide—if just a few Skyshaker Bombs went off here, tens of thousands would be killed or wounded in an instant.
Off in the distance, the Sea Dragon Empire’s million-strong army was surging straight toward the city. Amid the mass of troops, one tall, covered command cart stood out most—it had to be Feiqing Yun’s personal vehicle. Roland hadn’t expected the Marshal to show up and take charge in person today.
On the Heavenly Dragon Empire’s side, every soldier brimmed with fighting spirit. After making the enemy suffer twice in a row, the whole army was fired up—if they could defeat the Sea Dragon Empire today, maybe this war would finally end.
Both sides advanced until they were about five hundred meters apart, then halted. Roland immediately soared into the air, ready to command the battle himself.
With thirty percent of his strength recovered, flight was no problem for Roland. But right now, he was waiting—waiting for Evan Chu’s final appearance.
Maybe the heavens were favoring the Heavenly Dragon Empire—just as the armies were about to clash, a golden giant bird suddenly swooped in from the sky. Everyone recognized it: this bird had slaughtered countless Sea Dragon soldiers before.
The moment Roland saw the golden giant bird, his anxious heart finally relaxed. Evan Chu and the others had returned—and they’d brought back the devastating Skyshaker Bombs.
Goldwing landed directly atop the city wall, and Roland quickly flew back to meet them. He saw Evan Chu and Selena dismounting from the bird’s back—and, of course, spotted the crates strapped to Goldwing as well.
But when he saw Selena’s pale face, Roland knew the mission had been far too dangerous. Thankfully, they’d all made it back safe—otherwise, he honestly didn’t know how he’d explain things to the Second Prince.
When Evan Chu saw Roland arrive, he spoke up: “General, we didn’t let you down—we got our hands on the Skyshaker Bombs, and killed the elite escorts, including Yuetian Wu and Flynn Yun. That’s a heavy blow to the Sea Dragon Empire.”
When Roland heard that Yuetian Wu and Flynn Yun were dead, he was so overjoyed he almost couldn’t speak. Those two were the biggest headaches for the Heavenly Dragon Empire—one was overwhelmingly powerful, the other scheming and cunning. Now that both had been slain, it was as if Feiqing Yun had lost his two strongest arms.
"You’ve truly gone through hell for this, and I’m so sorry Selena got hurt. The debt you two have earned for the Empire—I’ll report every detail to His Majesty. And if you hadn’t warned us to pull everyone back inside the city last night, the consequences would’ve been unimaginable." Roland spoke, still shaken.
Evan Chu and Selena glanced at the ruined ground beneath the city wall, both deeply shaken by the terrifying power of the Skyshaker Bombs.
Suddenly, Evan seemed to think of something and spoke up immediately: "General, even though we’ve hijacked their Skyshaker Bombs, they’re basically useless to us right now. Without the launch carts, these things are just dead weight. We have to find a way to seize their war-carts."
Roland burst out laughing. "That’s exactly what I was about to say! Last night, those Sea Dragon bastards tried a sneak attack, but we saw right through their scheme…"
Roland recounted everything that happened last night, leaving Evan and Selena stunned. If Feiqing Yun heard about this, he’d probably be so furious he’d cough up blood.
"The best part is, I figured you two would pull off your mission, so I sent men to snatch the war-cart ahead of time. Now it’s sitting right here inside the city, just waiting for you to load up those Skyshaker Bombs and give them a real surprise!" Roland said.
Evan and Selena looked over and sure enough, the war-cart was parked inside the city. Evan immediately said, "No time to waste—let’s show them what we’re made of!"
Roland glanced at Evan. "How exactly do we attack? Are we just going to wheel the cart out between the two armies? If we do that, the enemy will be on guard—the effect will be much weaker."
Right then, Goldwing said something that left all three of them stunned: "Boss, just strap the war-cart onto my back. I’ll fly up, and you can fire down at their troops from the air. Hit them wherever you want—they’ll never see it coming."
Evan grinned, impressed. "Goldwing, you’re a genius! I never thought you’d come up with something like this. But I wonder if the enemy will send their top experts to intercept us."
Roland thought for a moment. "That cart weighs several thousand jin—can you handle it?"
Goldwing replied, "I can handle that much weight for at least an hour. I figure an hour is more than enough to use up all those Skyshaker Bombs!"
Roland laughed. "Good, then it’s settled! I’ll send my two strongest generals with you. Even if the enemy sends their best, you won’t have to worry."
Evan glanced at Selena. "Want to join in? You’re the real MVP of this whole operation—without you, it wouldn’t be half as fun."
"Of course I’m going! As long as I’m with my husband, I’ll brave any dragon pool or tiger den." Selena shot Evan a look. After some rest on the way back, her physical wounds had mostly healed, but her spirit was still in bad shape.
Goldwing swooped down from the city wall. Evan and a few soldiers worked together to hoist the war-cart onto his broad back. Evan studied the long iron launch tubes mounted on the cart—the key to firing the Skyshaker Bombs.
"Evan, I’ll send two second-layer Divine Martial generals to escort you. Let’s give those Sea Dragon bastards a special kind of surprise!" Roland grinned.
Soon, two middle-aged generals arrived before Evan and Selena. Evan said, "Let’s go, generals! Time to give the Sea Dragon Empire’s scum a taste of their own medicine."
The four of them climbed onto Goldwing’s back. Goldwing immediately spread his wings and shot skyward, his speed so astonishing that even the two generals were left speechless.
Meanwhile, the Sea Dragon Empire’s generals, having sworn military oaths before Feiqing Yun, were itching for a fight. As morale surged, Feiqing Yun couldn’t hold back any longer. He barked at his commanders, "Attack with everything you’ve got! Defeat the enemy or bring me your heads!"
Each general immediately relayed the order to their troops. The sound of war drums thundered across the battlefield as Sea Dragon Empire soldiers charged toward the Heavenly Dragon lines.
Roland, however, didn’t give the order to attack just yet. He knew a spectacular show was about to unfold overhead.
Evan, Selena, and the two generals soared above the Sea Dragon army on Goldwing’s back. To avoid enemy arrows, Goldwing kept their altitude at three hundred meters.
Evan looked down at the dense mass of Sea Dragon soldiers below and grinned. "Time for you to taste your own Skyshaker Bombs!"
Together with the two generals, Evan loaded a Skyshaker Bomb into the launch tube and pulled the trigger. With a deafening bang, a flaming red fireball shot out and plummeted straight toward the Sea Dragon troops below…
