Chapter 709: Don't Move
Elsa's face was pale as she watched Curio step fully out of the Abyssal Gate. Her whole body trembled ever so slightly. Jeremy was even worse, his features twisted by terror.
The other Dark Elves were so frightened they could barely cast spells efficiently.
Of everyone here, it was the Dark Elves who understood Curio's power best. Years ago, even the most gifted of their kind had been outmatched by Curio—defeat was inevitable, let alone the thought of killing him...
Curio raised both arms, letting out a terrifying roar. Swirls of black ice storm circled him. He wasn't even Level Thirty-Nine yet, but his presence was stronger than most magical beasts at that level!
His colossal body, towering over a hundred meters high, seemed sculpted from black ice. The moment Curio emerged from the Abyssal Gate, he casually grabbed a handful of abyssal creatures. A dozen of them screamed in terror, powerless as Curio stuffed them into his mouth.
Crunch...
It sounded like huge blocks of ice being shattered by force. Curio chewed the abyssal creatures a few times, and foul-smelling black blood began to drip from the corners of his mouth.
Some of the blood hadn't even hit the ground before it froze into solid ice.
Curio pounded his chest and roared again. Endless abyssal runes burst forth from him, almost tangible, falling onto his body. Chunks of ice formed a fearsome suit of armor, covering Curio from head to toe.
This black ice armor, conjured by Curio, looked less like frozen ice and more like a suit forged from Abyssal Black Iron—solid, impenetrable, and nothing at all like mere condensed ice.
Seeing this, everyone was gripped by even deeper terror. Leon's expression grew utterly grim.
As a minor Abyssal Lord, Curio was already formidable. Yet the first thing he did after stepping through the Abyssal Gate was to wrap himself in a layer of Black Ice Armor.
Seth's lips twisted bitterly as he gritted his teeth and cast his spell.
Damn it, being a minor lord from the thirty-ninth level of the Abyss is impressive enough, but this Curio—an Ice Giant—has absolutely no shame.
Against us, your usual tricks barely hold up. We can't even get past these abyssal creatures, let alone land a single spell on you, right?
And yet, you shamelessly step out and immediately cloak yourself in this freakishly strong Black Ice Armor—and it's even mutated.
I know Ice Giants are supposed to be insanely strong, their bodies tougher than most—on par with dragons, really. And you've got a demon's head, so there's definitely Abyssal demon blood in you—at least the bloodline of an Abyssal Lord. You could probably shrug off any spell below rank six just with brute force.
Now you go and throw up the strongest defense spell right out of the gate. Is there no end to your shamelessness?
Where are your powerful spells? Attack, damn it! Why bother with all these defensive tricks?
