Killing the City Lord of Lumastream City (Part One)

1/19/2026

Evan Chu shot Blazefire Immortal Lord a glance and said, "Don't underestimate him. If he wanted to kill you, it would happen in an instant. But since you're my little brother, he won't do anything to you."

Blazefire Immortal Lord was stunned. He truly couldn't understand where Evan Chu had found such a terrifying flying beast—especially one with such unbelievable speed.

At this moment, all the City Lord's Mansion guards, the two Immortal Lords, and the vulgar woman had been slain by Goldwing. Their bodies lay sprawled on the ground, blood pooling everywhere. The earth-shattering events in Lumastream City had left everyone dumbfounded.

People grew more and more curious about the mysterious youth's identity. For a while, the city buzzed with gossip. Several people in the crowd even sent out message talismans, but Evan Chu paid them no mind. In fact, he was hoping the City Lord of Lumastream would show up—so he could test his current strength.

Maybe Evan Chu was going too far—his real target was Hector Vaughn. But in this world where the strong prey on the weak, only power makes you king. No one dares say a word against you if you have true strength.

Evan Chu turned to Blazefire Immortal Lord and said, "Blazefire, the City Lord of Lumastream will be here soon. You should leave for now—he's a mid-stage Immortal Emperor, and I don't want you getting killed. Don't say I didn't warn you."

"You really plan to fight Ray Lumen? He's a mid-stage Immortal Emperor! If you're not confident, you should run while you still can!" Blazefire Immortal Lord said in a panic.

"Run? I have no intention of running this time. Last time I fled Newcapital City—I totally lost face. So this time, I won't run. I want to see just how strong I've become. Otherwise, I'll have no confidence when facing Hector Vaughn." Evan Chu replied.

Blazefire Immortal Lord was even more unsettled. Hector Vaughn was late-stage Immortal Emperor—almost unmatched in the Immortal Realm. Even Nolan Nangong, the Domain Lord of Martial Spirit Dominion, couldn't guarantee he could kill him. Now Evan Chu actually wanted to challenge him? Was he crazy? Blazefire couldn't help but wonder if Evan's brain was broken, but he didn't dare say it out loud.

At this moment, Evan Chu asked, "Why haven't I seen your Domain Lord or anyone from Dream Spirit Sanctuary? And why aren't there any people from Skyshade Hall or Solarion Palace here either? What's going on?"

Blazefire Immortal Lord was about to answer when several figures suddenly appeared in the sky. The middle-aged man in front radiated killing intent and said harshly, "Kid, you actually dared to kill my City Lord's Mansion men? You clearly don't respect me at all. Who the hell are you? If you tell me honestly, maybe I'll leave you a whole corpse."

Evan Chu said to Blazefire Immortal Lord, "Watch out for yourself. I'm going to meet this so-called Immortal Emperor expert." With that, he flashed into the air.

After all, fighting in Lumastream City could easily destroy the whole city, and the casualties would be massive. If the bloodshed was too great, it could affect his mental state and even hinder his future ascension to the God Realm. Besides, these people were innocent—there was no need to kill them.

"Who I am? You're not qualified to know. But your people in Lumastream City tried to kill me without even figuring out right from wrong, so of course they deserved to die. You're the City Lord of Lumastream, huh? Not bad—you've reached mid-stage Immortal Emperor. I can have some fun with you." Evan Chu laughed.

Everyone was stunned. Was this kid insane? To say something like that—to challenge a mid-stage Immortal Emperor? Even twenty lives wouldn't be enough for Ray Lumen to kill him.

Ray Lumen, City Lord of Lumastream, was furious at Evan Chu's words. In a flash, he attacked Evan bare-handed.

But Evan Chu didn't back down. Ray Lumen's attack was obviously rushed, only about eighty percent power. So Evan matched it—he quickly threw a Demon-Breaking Fist at eighty percent strength, using only pure Chaos Immortal Force, no elemental power at all.

If he had added in the Heavenfire elemental, maybe he could've burned Ray Lumen's fist to ashes in one blow. But Evan just wanted to see how big the gap really was between them.

Seeing Evan Chu dare to go head-to-head with him, Ray Lumen was even more pissed. This kid totally looked down on him! If he didn't kill Evan, he'd never be able to let it go.

Soon, their fists collided in midair with a thunderous boom. The massive energy storm instantly engulfed all of Ray Lumen's followers, but these were all late-stage Immortal Lords—and one was even an early-stage Immortal Emperor.

The energy storm couldn't actually hurt them, but it still left them looking a little ragged. They scrambled to dodge out of the way, while Evan Chu and Ray Lumen were both knocked back through the air.

Evan Chu noticed he was knocked back about ten meters farther than Ray Lumen, but he already had his answer: his current Chaos Immortal Force was about equal to mid-stage Immortal Emperor, but there was still a gap to late-stage Immortal Emperor.

Ray Lumen, meanwhile, stared at Evan Chu like he was a monster. He couldn't believe this kid's attack power was so strong—actually matching him blow for blow. "Who the hell are you? I've got no grudge with you, so why are you coming after me?" he demanded.

"Because I feel like it. I wanted to get you out here for some practice. One round wasn't nearly enough—show me your strongest attack. If you're worried about wrecking Lumastream City, we can move somewhere else. Surely a mid-stage Immortal Emperor isn't afraid, right?" Evan Chu laughed.

"Kid, you're way too arrogant! You think a little brute force means you can overturn the heavens? Fine, I'll play along!" Ray Lumen shouted. Even though Evan's attack power was impressive, Ray still believed Evan wasn't his match—especially since he had a powerful magic weapon to use.

Evan Chu flashed thousands of miles away to hover above a remote valley, and Ray Lumen followed close behind. Of course, a few thrill-seekers also tagged along to watch the show.

"You'd better go all out. Otherwise, you'll regret it. You should use your magic weapon too—otherwise, you won't even get the chance," Evan Chu said.

Enough was enough—Evan Chu's total disregard for Ray Lumen was driving him crazy. "Kid, you're way too cocky. I'm about to show you what happens to arrogant fools!" Ray Lumen roared as a crimson longsword appeared in his hand...
