Killing the Lumastream City Lord (Part Two)

1/19/2026

Evan Chu glanced at the longsword in Ray Lumen’s hand and laughed, “That immortal sword of yours isn’t bad—just right for me. Looks like coming to Lumastream City was the right call after all. Once I cut you down, this sword will be mine.”

Ray Lumen’s face went ashen as he stared at Evan Chu, the fiery-red Windfire Sword in his hand trembling with anger. He’d seen arrogant fools before, but never anyone this brazen—just hearing Evan talk made him so furious he could cough blood.

“If you want the City Lord’s Windfire Sword, let’s see if you’ve got the guts!” Ray Lumen snarled. His body flickered, and the blazing Windfire Sword swept out, sending arcs of sword-qi tens of meters long slicing toward Evan Chu.

“Windfire Sword? Nice name. I like it,” Evan Chu said, still showing off. But while he talked big, he wasn’t careless—he sent Goldwing flying aside and coated himself in earth-stone defense.

Ray was a mid-stage Immortal Emperor—no matter how confident Evan was, he wouldn’t get careless. He summoned the Frostbane Sword and instantly swung a massive Star-Cleave. At this moment, Evan had no intention of trying the unfamiliar Divine Cleave.

The sword-qi from the Frostbane Sword stretched out for dozens of meters. As the two gigantic sword beams appeared in midair, the whole space began to shudder, as if it would tear apart, and the crushing pressure made the onlookers struggle to breathe.

Only now did the crowd truly realize just how terrifyingly strong this mysterious youth was—and it proved even more that he was the same Evan Lin who’d stunned everyone at Newcapital City.

In an instant, the two sword-qi beams collided, crackling through the air. Countless energy storms erupted and spread out in all directions, making the sky and earth seem to change color—like the end of the world, a scene that struck terror into everyone watching.

Some weaker immortals were blasted out of the sky by the pressure and energy storms—whether they lived or died, no one knew, because all eyes were locked on the battle above.

To actually challenge Lumastream City’s Lord—this guy was no ordinary opponent. After the deafening explosion, it was time to see whose sword-qi had done more damage. But the truth was, both sides were evenly matched—their sword-qi canceled each other out in a miracle of balance.

Soon, the two swords clashed again, sending up a shower of sparks. Neither could gain the upper hand, but for experts like these, the fight was far from over.

Ray Lumen suddenly threw a punch at Evan Chu, who answered with a punch of his own. They could have gone fist-to-fist, but Evan deliberately avoided a direct collision—he wanted to seriously injure Ray. He knew exactly how tough his own defenses were, especially with Earthshift active, so he didn’t fear Ray’s attack.

Bang! Bang! Two thunderous booms rang out as both men were blasted hundreds of meters back before they could steady themselves.

The earth-stone armor covering Evan was completely shattered, but he wasn’t seriously hurt—he just felt his blood and qi surging inside. The attack power of a mid-stage Immortal Emperor really wasn’t weak, and it gave him an even clearer sense of what that realm was capable of.

Ray Lumen, on the other hand, spat out a mouthful of blood, his face turning pale. He couldn’t understand how he’d been so badly hurt—his physical defenses were supposed to be monstrous, strong enough to withstand even a full-force blow from an Immortal Lord.

But now he’d suffered internal injuries—proof that this youth’s attack power was truly terrifying. Ray grew more cautious, suppressing his churning blood and quickly pulling a golden pill from his storage ring to swallow.

“What, already popping pills? If you just hand over the Windfire Sword, I’ll let you live. Otherwise, you’re dead for sure—so much for mid-stage Immortal Emperors!” Evan Chu shouted.

To Ray Lumen, Evan’s voice was like needles stabbing into his ears. “Kid, you really are strong. I did underestimate you. But if you want my Windfire Sword, you’re not qualified yet.”

With a thought, Ray instantly activated his spatial domain—a move Evan dreaded most. No matter how hard he tried, he’d never been able to truly grasp spatial domains, and every time someone trapped him with one, it drove him up the wall.

Suddenly, a crushing weight pressed down all around, making Evan feel like his body was locked in place. He knew Ray had unleashed his spatial domain, so he immediately started communicating with the elements inside that space.

He wasn’t afraid of a Five-Elements Domain, but dark or light attribute domains were a nightmare—and the most dangerous. Right now, what worried him most was Shangguan Ruhuo’s spatial domain.

Soon Evan sensed that Ray Lumen’s domain was fire-based—a Fire Domain. In a blink, he resonated with the fire element. Now that his Fireshift had broken through to the third layer, no one in the Immortal Realm could match his control over fire.

The pressure on him eased considerably, though some remained. He realized Ray had another elemental domain—after all, Shangguan Luoyang could manifest a Triple Spatial Domain, so it was normal for an Immortal Emperor like Ray to have control over multiple elemental domains.

He quickly found the second domain: water. As the pressure lifted again and gradually vanished, Evan realized Ray only had a Double Domain.

“Kid, my spatial domain isn’t so easy to handle! Now let me show you the power of my artifact!” Ray Lumen declared, summoning a square seal.

A beam of white light shot from his hand, and the seal flew into the air, swelling in an instant to the size of a small mountain. If it landed on you, you’d be crushed to a pulp.

Evan Chu wasn’t stupid. He instantly tossed the Frostbane Sword into the air and, with a thought, resonated with the star-point in his dantian. A beam of starlight shot down from the sky—weak to the eye, but so powerful he could barely withstand it.

He channeled the power of the stars through his body, and in his mind appeared the method for unleashing Star-Cleave. Unifying his heart and mind, he dared to try something new—using stellar power to drive his Heart-Sword, and letting the Heart-Sword release Star-Cleave.
