The Breaking Point

Gavin Fenn glared, "You’re familiar with Fiend Palace? Are you saying they could actually break out and kill us?"

"Second Brother, don’t say I didn’t warn you. There are plenty of Fiend Palace people in the Human World, especially the Eldest Young Master of Fiend Palace—he’s right here on Alchemy Sacred Mountain." Third Young Master Fenn laughed.

"Where?" Gavin Fenn had never met anyone from Fiend Palace, so he naturally didn’t know. But Third Young Master Fenn, thanks to Yang Han, had some contact with Fiend Palace people and thus knew a bit more about them.

"Not telling you." Third Young Master Fenn sneered.

"What’s so smug about that? You only got close to Fiend Palace because of your fiancée." Gavin Fenn sneered after Third Young Master Fenn refused to answer.

Gavin Fenn had a knack for poking at sore spots. Instantly, Third Young Master Fenn glared at him, "You’d better watch your mouth."

"Why should I?" Gavin Fenn sneered.

Seeing the two about to start another fight, Miles Fenn spoke up, "Gentlemen, you’re here representing the Fenn Family. Don’t embarrass us."

Hearing Miles Fenn’s words, both of them withdrew their aura and stopped paying attention to each other.

Yang Han naturally kept an eye on their exchange and overheard everything. He muttered to himself, "Fiend Palace’s Eldest Young Master? Isn’t that his brother?" Yang Han knew the younger one was captured, but had no idea why the elder was here.

Just as Yang Han was muttering, the staff from Alchemy Sacred Mountain arranged Elder Shaw and his group onto another floating stone platform, which had many separate rooms. The staff member said, "There are enough rooms here for all of you to stay."

"Alright, thank you for your trouble." Elder Shaw smiled.

"No problem. I’ll come by tomorrow to let you know when it’s time for the pill-refining competition." The staff member replied, then took his leave from Elder Shaw and the others.

Just as Elder Shaw and his group were about to go in and pick rooms, the Fenn Family group walked over.

"I am Gavin Fenn. May I ask your name, miss?" Gavin Fenn smiled at Faye Gale.

"Let’s go." Who was Faye Gale? In Fiend Palace, she was high above everyone—no one dared to approach her and chat, except for Yang Han.

Gavin Fenn, who’d been so eager, was immediately snubbed by Faye Gale. His face darkened and he frowned, "Are all Fiend Palace people this rude?" He glanced at Elder Shaw, expecting him to discipline this impolite woman.

Instead of scolding Faye Gale, Elder Shaw smiled, "Gavin Fenn, right? She’s always like this—you’ll get used to it."

"Get used to it? This is the Human World, not your Fiend Realm!" Gavin Fenn snorted.

Faye Gale knew how to weigh the situation. Normally, she would have slapped Gavin Fenn so hard he wouldn’t know which way was up. But now she just smiled, "Whether it’s the Human World or the Fiend Realm, I’m always like this. What’s it got to do with you?"

Watching Faye Gale turn her back and ignore him, Gavin Fenn was furious. It was humiliating—he was the Fenn Family’s second young master, yet even a Fiend Palace woman wouldn’t give him face. How was he supposed to ask anything? He moved to block her.

But Elder Shaw stepped in front of Gavin Fenn and smiled, "Gavin Fenn, we’re here for a friendly pill-refining competition, not to stir up trouble. Please understand."

"You—" Gavin Fenn hadn’t expected the Fiend Palace leader to say that to him.

Everyone left Gavin Fenn standing there while they went inside to choose rooms.

"Told you so, Second Brother." Third Young Master Fenn sneered.

"Hmph, damn it!" Gavin Fenn said angrily.

"Second Young Master, since she won’t pay you any mind, let’s not bother them. Come on." Miles Fenn didn’t want trouble either—after all, this involved Fiend Palace people.

"What?" Second Young Master Fenn stared in disbelief.

That only made Gavin Fenn angrier. He took his men and stormed inside. Miles Fenn was about to stop him, but Third Young Master Fenn held him back, "Captain Fenn, let him go. If anything happens, he’s responsible."

Miles Fenn understood what Third Young Master Fenn meant, but since he reported to Third Young Master, he naturally sided with him.

"This time, I bet you’ll finally get yourself killed." Third Young Master Fenn cursed inwardly. Stopping Miles Fenn was all about letting Gavin Fenn cause trouble, so his reputation would sink even lower and his influence in the family would fade—eventually, control of the Fenn Family would fall to him.

Miles Fenn understood exactly what Third Young Master Fenn meant, so he stopped and stayed with Third Young Master.

"Let’s go back." Third Young Master Fenn said, so Miles Fenn followed him to their own room.

Gavin Fenn didn’t care if Third Young Master Fenn and the others helped or not. Today, he was determined to confront that woman. He cursed in his heart, "Even a woman dares act so arrogant!"

Yang Han and Faye Gale were picking rooms when Gavin Fenn barged in, furious. He interrupted, "I’m asking you—what’s your name!"

"You’re not welcome here. Get out." Faye Gale’s temper wasn’t great—if pushed any further, who knew what might happen.

Yang Han, being involved, knew Faye Gale’s temper well. Yesterday she barely held back from killing Mason Liu, and today she was facing this lecherous Gavin Fenn. He couldn’t guarantee she wouldn’t just slap him to death right now.

"Not welcome? You think you can just say that? This is the Human World, not your Fiend Realm—I’ll come in if I want!" Gavin Fenn sneered. His guards started making crude jokes at Faye Gale.

Though it was just verbal harassment, Faye Gale finally couldn’t take it anymore and coldly spat, "Scram!"

As soon as she said that, Gavin Fenn and his guards were blasted out of the room.
