Rules Must Be Broken

"That guy deserves some hardship," Third Young Master Feng said with a smile to Miles Fenn.

"Third Young Master, that woman seems to be quite important. Could she bring trouble to our Fenn Family?" Miles Fenn still couldn’t shake the memory of Faye Gale’s terrifying aura.

Third Young Master Feng wasn’t sure how strong Faye Gale really was, so he asked curiously, "How is her cultivation?"

"Higher than mine. If I faced her, I’d definitely get hurt," Miles Fenn replied.

"I see. She really isn’t simple, especially since even the squad leader treats her with such respect," Third Young Master Feng noted.

"Should we keep a close eye on Second Young Master? Don’t let him do anything irreparable," Miles Fenn said worriedly.

"Him? Forget it. Even if you tied him up, he wouldn’t listen. Besides, he’s overdue for a lesson," Third Young Master Feng said. Every time he remembered Second Young Master’s mockery, he wished someone would teach him a lesson, and since no one in the Fenn Family dared, letting outsiders do it was the best option.

Miles Fenn understood what Third Young Master Feng meant, but worried he might go too far. "This woman is too strong. I’m afraid if she gets angry, she might actually deal with Second Young Master."

"It shouldn’t be that serious, right?" Third Young Master Feng frowned at Miles Fenn’s exaggeration. If Second Young Master really got killed by someone from the Fiend Realm, the Fenn Family would definitely come after them, and since that woman’s background wasn’t simple, it would bring the family a lot of trouble.

Third Young Master Feng definitely didn’t want to inherit a broken mess.

"It's possible," Miles Fenn reminded.

So the two walked over, entered the crowd, and as the crowd slowly parted, Yang Han’s divine sense already saw the scene inside and heard the voices.

"King of Alchemy, what are you doing here?" said a middle-aged man.

Opposite him was a man dressed as a beggar. Yang Han froze when he saw him—this was the old beggar who gave him the Dan Classic, his alchemy mentor.

He was the King of Alchemy spoken of by everyone. He once lost to someone from Alchemy Sacred Mountain and was forced to swear never to refine pills again, or else he’d be hunted by the mountain.

So the mountain always had people tracking the old beggar. The one who spoke just now was Cao Pin from the Cao Clan, who supervises him.

"Cao Pin, can’t I just watch?" the old beggar said with a smile.

"Watch? You can’t refine pills anymore, so what’s the point? You’d better go back," Cao Pin mocked.

"I’ll just lie here," the old beggar said, lying down like a beggar who could sleep anywhere.

Many people had never seen the King of Alchemy before and exchanged glances. Elder Shaw from Fiend Palace recognized him, and his expression was a bit odd.

"Yeah, go. Contact the Black Hand Syndicate right away. As long as they take her down, any price is fine," Second Young Master Fenn said, smiling.

"Well, the Black Hand Syndicate only kills—they don’t do kidnappings," the guard said awkwardly.

"Oh? So the only option is to kill her?" Second Young Master Fenn said, a bit frustrated.

"Yeah. The Black Hand Syndicate only has two outcomes: success, which means the target is killed, or failure, which means their assassin is killed," the guard replied.

Second Young Master Fenn began to ponder. If he really had her killed, it would be a shame—but if he didn’t, he couldn’t swallow his pride.

He thought it over for a long time, until finally he sighed, "Fine. Kill her."

"Alright, I’ll make contact," the guard said.

Second Young Master Fenn stayed in his residence on Alchemy Sacred Mountain, waiting for news from the guard. About half an hour later, the guard returned and said, "Second Young Master, um..."

"What is it?" Second Young Master Fenn asked curiously.

"Their price is really high," the guard replied.

"How much?" Second Young Master Fenn asked, confused.

"Ten billion top-grade Spirit Crystal Ore," the guard said, barely believing it himself.

When Second Young Master Fenn heard this, his face darkened. "Are they robbers or what?"

"They said this woman is extremely strong, so they need one of their top assassins to act, which costs several billion. And the Black Hand Syndicate itself wants to be sure, so they charge a few billion as insurance. In total, ten billion—or they won’t take the job," the guard explained.

"Damn, they really are highwaymen," Second Young Master Fenn stood up, pacing angrily.

"Second Young Master, what do you think?" the guard asked.

"Let’s wait. Where am I supposed to find ten billion?" Second Young Master Fenn said angrily.

"So you’re giving up?" the guard asked, understandingly.

"Give up? How could I? Go check my businesses and see if we can scrape together enough. Tell me how much we’re short," Second Young Master Fenn said, still furious at being taught a lesson by that woman. No matter what, he wanted her dead to vent his anger.

The guard nodded quickly and left, while Second Young Master Fenn muttered, "Damn it, ten billion—that’s decades of income."

Faye Gale and Yang Han squeezed over to Elder Shaw’s side.

"What’s going on?" Faye Gale asked.

Elder Shaw replied, "This is the King of Alchemy from the Human World. Last time, we lost to him, but now..."

Yang Han looked at his old acquaintance but couldn’t reveal himself—his identity was too special. If exposed, not only Fiend Palace, but the Fenn Family in the Human World wouldn’t let him go.

Seeing the old beggar so unreasonable, Cao Pin sneered, "You want to stay, huh? Fine, let’s see how you stay. Bring it!"

A few disciples appeared, carrying buckets of water. Cao Pin poured the water one by one onto the spot where the old beggar lay.

"Cao Pin, you’re ruthless," said the old beggar, knowing he couldn’t fight back now.

Cao Pin knew the old beggar couldn’t fight back—if he did, he’d break the rules.

"It’s a pity he can’t fight back," Elder Shaw sighed.

"Why?" Faye Gale asked, puzzled.

Elder Shaw replied, "I heard Alchemy Sacred Mountain made a deal with him."

Then Elder Shaw explained, and Faye Gale finally understood the old beggar’s identity and his connection to Alchemy Sacred Mountain.

Yang Han listened, watching the old beggar lying in the water, feeling a surge of rage—he really wanted to deal with Cao Pin.

Still not leaving? Are you here just to be mocked?" Cao Pin laughed.

The old beggar was used to such looks and closed his eyes.

Seeing the old beggar was like mud that couldn’t be moved, Cao Pin sneered, "Go ahead."

A few disciples with sticks surrounded the old beggar. Their cultivation wasn’t high, but each struck with full force. The old beggar didn’t fight back.

Fight back! Some people shouted in their hearts—not everyone was prejudiced against the King of Alchemy; many supported him.

Some people stepped forward, pleading, "Elder Cao, the King of Alchemy just wants to watch the pill refining. He won’t cause trouble. Please let him stay."

"Who are you to order me? Get lost!" Cao Pin waved his hand and sent the speaker flying.

Blood gushed from the man on the spot. The old beggar frowned, "Cao Pin, this is my business—don’t hurt the innocent."

"Oh, old beggar, you really think I’m afraid of you?" Cao Pin sneered, knowing the old beggar couldn’t fight back. Especially here at Alchemy Sacred Mountain—if he did, he’d break the rules and face serious consequences.

So Cao Pin ordered more people to beat the old beggar. Seeing the fate of the previous speaker, no one else dared to step forward. The crowd could only sigh helplessly.

Just then, Yang Han moved. In a flash, he knocked all the stick-wielding disciples flying and looked at the old beggar. "Senior, you should leave. It’s dangerous here."

Yang Han’s sudden action shocked everyone. The Human World people looked strangely at this Fiend Realm man, and the Fiend Palace people eyed Yang Han suspiciously.
