Evan Yang stepped out of the lake, staring at the mysterious pool and muttering, "Who was that, really? Why did they say that?"
That sentence kept echoing in Evan Yang's mind. Its meaning was simple: the Chaos World was facing a great catastrophe. The scenes he'd witnessed—one plane after another exploding—filled his mind with those images.
The creature beside him watched Evan Yang curiously, and Evan asked, "You've always been here?"
"Yeah, you could say that," the creature replied.
"When did you get this bead?" Evan Yang asked, curious.
"You mean this bead? I can't even remember when. It was ages ago," the creature answered. Hearing this, Evan Yang couldn't estimate the timing, so he could only wonder how to figure out who the person in those visions was.
After pondering for a while, Evan Yang said, "Alright, I need to go."
The creature watched Evan Yang with curiosity, but was clearly happy—not having to suffer the bead's influence anymore.
After saying goodbye to the creature, Evan Yang left, heading toward the exit. Half a day later, he arrived at the exit—the place connecting to the Immortal Realm.
Evan Yang glanced at this strange place, then vanished in a flash, returning to the Immortal Realm.
After returning to the Immortal Realm, he hurried back to his own world-realm.
Seeing Evan Yang return, Liam Yang asked, "How did it go?"
"Dad, relax. With me handling it, how could I not succeed?" Evan Yang said with a smile.
"Let me see—what does this yang water actually look like?" Liam Yang asked curiously. Evan Yang replied, "It's inside my body."
"What? Inside your body?" Liam Yang looked at Evan Yang, puzzled, and Patriarch Yang also stared at him, curious about what he was up to.
Evan Yang just smiled. "Yeah, I'll revive them right now."
Evan Yang brought everyone out one by one. Liam Yang and Patriarch Yang watched as a stream of liquid appeared on Evan's hand, but it vanished quickly. Evan had to swiftly feed it to those who were poisoned. There were so many people in the Yang clan, so he gave each of them some until they all woke up one after another. Evan Yang smiled and said, "All done."
Yang Ling woke up among them and, seeing some people still unconscious and others already awake, asked suspiciously, "Dad, what exactly happened?"
"I'll explain everything once everyone's awake," Evan Yang said.
So they waited a bit, and when everyone had woken up, Evan Yang had Liam Yang explain things to the group. When they learned it was the fake merchants who caused the trouble, Yang Ling angrily said, "Damn it, this makes me furious!"
"Alright, everyone get back to your usual duties," Evan Yang said to them.
Once everyone had dispersed, Liam Yang asked, "Evan, how do you plan to handle this?"
"I really have no way, unless I can catch whoever contacts them," Evan Yang replied.
Seeing that Evan Yang had no solution, they could only sigh helplessly. At that moment, Patriarch Yang spoke up, "If that's the case, just kill them."
Evan Yang hadn't expected Patriarch Yang to be so ruthless, but he wasn't planning to kill them—if he did, they'd lose the only lead.
"That won't work. I'd better think of something else," Evan Yang said, then turned and left, leaving Patriarch Yang and Liam Yang behind.
Walking through the void, Evan Yang looked at the planets and muttered, "Who are you people, really?"
Just then, Brocade came over to Evan Yang. "Boss, what are you thinking about?"
"What else? Of course I'm thinking about those two," Evan Yang sighed.
"We tried to lure the snake out of its hole, but everyone ended up poisoned. Now we can't think of another way," Brocade sighed.
Evan Yang thought for a moment, then said after some contemplation, "Maybe I do have a way."
Brocade asked curiously, "What way?"
"They like to infiltrate, right? If they can do it, so can I," Evan Yang said with a smile.
When Evan Yang said this, Brocade immediately understood. He laughed, "Boss, you're pretty ruthless."
"An eye for an eye. Come on, let's get ready," Evan Yang said with a grin.
After Evan Yang left, he went to find Liam Yang and Patriarch Yang, asking them, "Who did Elder Master Yang trust most in the Yang clan back then? Or who was closest to him?"
"Why are you asking this?" Liam Yang wondered aloud.
Evan Yang smiled, "Obviously, I'm planning something."
"Let me think," Liam Yang said, puzzled. Patriarch Yang spoke up, "Of course his personal steward, Steward Luke Liu. But that steward died a long time ago."
"He died? Why?" Evan Yang asked, curious.
"It was last time—he kept demanding justice for my unfilial grandson, and in the end, he threatened me with his life. I had no choice but to imprison him. Unexpectedly, he committed suicide. Even my unfilial son doesn't know about this," Patriarch Yang said.
Hearing there was such a steward, Evan Yang realized just how close he was to Elder Master Yang. So Evan said, "Give me his portrait, his name, and tell me everything about him."
Not knowing what Evan Yang wanted, Patriarch Yang handed him the portrait. Evan listened to all the details about the steward, whose name was Luke Liu—he had served Elder Master Yang for a long time.
After learning everything, Evan Yang turned and transformed into Luke Liu's appearance. When Patriarch Yang saw him, he was shocked. "You—"
"An eye for an eye. Let's see if I can find out who's behind them," Evan Yang said.
"But this is dangerous—what if they discover you?" Liam Yang said worriedly. Evan Yang shook his head. "Dad, I'm not that fragile. If they find me out, I can always leave—I'm not just going to let them chase me off."
"Just be careful," Liam Yang said. Evan Yang nodded, then had the Yang clan remove most of the guards from the holding area.
Evan Yang, now disguised as Luke Liu, went to the place where the two were imprisoned. He slipped inside. The two, who had been waiting for death, were startled to see Luke Liu. But they could only speak—they couldn't move, and stared at Evan Yang.
"Elder Master, Madam, I'm here," Evan Yang said, imitating Luke Liu's tone.
"Steward Liu, aren't you—" Elder Master Yang said in shock.
