Are You Coming to My House to Propose
"Do you want it or not? If not, forget it." She pretended to take it back.
Lily Bai snatched it away and stuffed it into her own storage pouch. "A goddess's gift—of course I'm taking it!"
Luna Lian couldn't help but shake her head with a laugh.
"Luna, have you ever heard of the name 'Lucy Luan'?" Lily Bai suddenly asked.
Luna Lian's smile vanished instantly as she looked at her. "Why are you asking about her?"
"I've heard people mention her! They say I look like Lucy Luan," Lily Bai said. "Who is she, anyway? And she even has the same last name as you! Have you heard of her?"
Luna Lian's hand clenched tightly inside her sleeve, but she said nothing.
"Luna?" Lily Bai looked at her suspiciously.
"From now on, never mention that name in front of anyone," Luna Lian said, deadly serious.
"Why?"
"Because... she's forbidden. Even mentioning her name can bring disaster," Luna Lian said, looking at her. "Remember what I said—don't ever bring up that name again."
"But there's nobody else here—just tell me!" Lily Bai grew even more curious. "I swear I won't tell anyone!"
But Luna Lian just shook her head and closed her eyes.
"Hey? Hello?" Lily Bai called several times, but Luna ignored her, focusing on refining the pill.
Luna Lian had never treated her like this before.
Which only made Lily Bai even more curious—just who was this Lucy Luan she supposedly resembled?
......
The pill was successfully refined. Luna Lian handed it to her, saying she just needed to give it to Little Shrimp when she got home.
Luna had other matters to attend to, so she wouldn't be coming along.
After leaving the Spirit Alliance, Lily Bai obediently headed to Heavenly Pool Mountain to find Damian Black.
Heavenly Pool Mountain is a famous peak near the entrance to the Spirit Alliance.
Its summit holds a volcanic lake—scenic, crystal clear, and rich in resources.
Every immortal passing through loves to take a stroll around Heavenly Pool Mountain.
Lily Bai had been here before, too.
She flew straight to the skies above Heavenly Pool Mountain, totally familiar with the way, and immediately spotted Damian Black.
He was standing beneath a big tree at the edge of the cliff, gazing into the distance.
The Spirit Alliance's entrance sits in the snowy Northern Wildlands.
Thanks to the New Divine Realm, the snow around the entrance melts, making it warmer than the rest of the Northern Wildlands.
But up on the mountain, it's still snow-covered—vast and majestic.
And that clear pool in the crater gives the place a softer, more beautiful side.
Yet Damian Black's looks actually outshone the beauty of Heavenly Pool Mountain itself—he stood between heaven and earth, his presence eclipsing the grandeur of the landscape.
Lily Bai found herself staring, completely entranced.
"Did you think I couldn't see you?" Damian Black's voice called out. "Come down."
Lily Bai floated down from the clouds and landed beside him.
That's when she noticed Damian Black was actually holding a fish.
It was pure white, at least a foot long, its big eyes glaring at them while it struggled fiercely.
"Whoa, that's a Heavenly Mountain Snow Fish! They live deep in the cold caves under the lake—super rare," Lily Bai said. "Where'd you catch it?"
"It's for you." Damian Black handed her the fish. "Make it into stew for your brother—it'll do wonders for his recovery."
He actually caught a fish for her brother?
A wicked grin curled at Lily Bai's lips. "Do you know what it means in Eastlore when a man brings fish to a woman's family?"
"No idea," Damian Black replied.
"It's a marriage proposal," Lily Bai said with a big smile. "So, are you planning to come to my house and propose?"
Eastlore is by the sea, and the fishermen really do have this custom.
If you're proposing, you have to bring fish.
The bigger and rarer the fish, the more serious the marriage proposal.
Of course, you have to bring other valuable gifts too—but the fish is the symbol of the proposal.
Damian Black's face darkened.
