Iris Ying felt no pressure at all facing Evan Yang, and Evan easily dodged all her attacks.
After a few rounds, Evan didn't want to waste any more time. He leapt behind the armored figure, tapped her a few times, and instantly shattered the armor.
The person inside was revealed—a young woman with long flowing hair, wearing only thin clothing. Her face flushed bright red in embarrassment and fury; no one had ever humiliated her like this in public. The crowd was stunned too, never expecting the armored figure to be a woman.
Enraged, the woman spun around, drew her sword, and slashed straight at Evan.
Evan stepped back and caught the sword barehanded. The onlookers gasped in shock. Iris Ying shouted angrily, "You madman! No matter what, you won't escape Storm God Star today!"
"You've misunderstood. I'm not some madman—I just came here to ask a few questions," Evan said helplessly, shaking his head.
"Ask questions? Is this how you ask questions?" Iris Ying snapped.
"You were the one who came at me first. How am I supposed to ask anything?" Evan replied.
"Don't try to argue," Iris Ying snorted coldly.
"I'm not arguing. But if you keep pestering me, I won't be polite," Evan said.
"Not polite? I'd like to see just how impolite you can be," Iris Ying snapped.
With that, Iris Ying drew her sword and attacked Evan again. This time, Evan caught the sword without hesitation, pulled it away, and leapt to her side. He tapped her acupoints, and the crowd watched as Iris dropped straight down. Evan naturally stepped forward and caught her in his arms.
The crowd's expressions shifted wildly. The registrar exclaimed, "This guy's got a death wish!"
Iris's face was bright red with rage. She wanted to kill Evan, but found herself unable to move.
"Heavens, what's going on? Damn it," Iris fumed. She'd come to carry out her duties, only to suffer such bad luck—now, in front of everyone, she was being held by a strange man and couldn't even fight back.
Evan, now on the ground, smiled and asked, "How's that?"
"You bastard, take your filthy hands off me!" Iris Ying shouted.
"Alright, now that's better," Evan said with a smile, letting go.
"Damn it, what did you do to me?" Iris demanded, furious.
"Just wanted to keep you from causing trouble again, so I took care of it this way," Evan replied with a grin.
"Damn it, let go of Kaiwo or you're dead!" Iris Ying shouted.
"You've said that several times, but I'm still standing right here," Evan replied.
Iris glared at Evan, then turned to the registrar: "Quick, report to the Star Lord!"
The registrar snapped out of it, hurriedly took out a communication stone, and sent the message. It quickly reached a subordinate at the planet's main residence, who was shocked and immediately relayed it to the middle-aged man cultivating inside.
The middle-aged man was startled by the message. With a flash, he vanished—and reappeared in the city where Evan was.
Evan pressed Iris, "Tell me, where have solid-stage Immortal Sovereign-level creatures appeared?"
The crowd no longer dared to mock Evan; now, everyone was intimidated by his strength.
"You immobilized me just to ask that?" Iris asked.
"That's right. Why else?" Evan replied.
"If you hadn't immobilized me, maybe I would've told you. But now, I won't," Iris snorted.
"Why won't you tell me? If you do, I can go get myself killed—wouldn't that be great?" Evan joked.
Iris glared at Evan. "As long as you want me to answer, I won't—no matter how simple the question is. Just to piss you off."
Evan muttered to himself, "What's up with this woman's attitude?"
Just then, a voice boomed from the sky: "Put down Iris Ying."
Evan turned around and saw a middle-aged man appear before him. Those who recognized him exclaimed, "Star Lord!" and many others respectfully greeted him, "Star Lord!"
"Star Lord? Is he the ruler of this planet?" Evan wondered to himself.
The man was now staring intently at Evan and at Iris Ying.
"Was that you speaking just now?" Evan asked curiously.
"Yes, it was me. I'm the Star Lord of this planet. I wonder what she did to offend you so badly that you'd treat her this way?" the middle-aged man asked.
Seeing that the middle-aged man was actually polite, Evan smiled and said, "She didn't really do anything to me. She just started attacking me as soon as she arrived. I only restrained her to keep from getting beaten myself."
"Oh?" the middle-aged man said curiously.
"Brother Chen, don't listen to his nonsense," Iris Ying interjected.
The middle-aged man turned to Evan and asked, "With your strength, why not help humanity instead of treating your own kind like this?"
"Star Lord, you've hit the mark. I'm actually here to find solid-stage Immortal Sovereign-level creatures. My purpose is to help humanity, but they won't tell me anything and keep chasing me around. Tell me, isn't that frustrating?" Evan replied, feeling aggrieved.
Hearing Evan mention solid-stage Immortal Sovereign-level creatures, the Star Lord was shocked. He'd only heard rumors of such beings and knew he couldn't survive against one. Frowning, he asked, "Are you sure they won't tell you?"
"If you don't believe me, ask the people around us," Evan said.
When the Star Lord turned to the crowd, several honest people stepped forward and admitted they hadn't told Evan anything. Soon, a whole group spoke up.
The Star Lord's face turned grim. He said to Evan, "I apologize for this. To make it up to you, please join me for a drink so we can discuss these powerful creatures."
Evan was happy that the Star Lord was willing to share information, so he brought Iris Ying along and followed the Star Lord to a tavern.
